I literally ended up watching the special edition of The Untamed - even though there is very little different from the original series - but it was a good excuse to rewatch the show without "technically" rewatching the show haha
I know the author has 2 other novels - Heavens Official Blessings and The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System ( I havent had a chance to read them yet, but I think they have been translated), though I do not know if they have any potential of being converted into other media...

I loved the novel so much! Its been a while since I was able to commit to a book that long! But I absolutely agree that the cast was really something special! You can see how much effort and care was put into the series - which is what probably contributes to our difficulty in letting it go! I have been digging around for other dramas to fill the void that The Untamed has left me in, but nothing has really been able to satisfy me so far haha

A trap is the best way to define it. I literally committed to a 1000+ page book because of the show! that is the power it holds!

Keep going! Trust me! It may be painful/difficult but this series is more than worth it!

I was almost hoping the ending was an excuse to set up another season, but oh well.

The really sad part was Win had some stellar acting in the last episode. I really don't want to say it was wasted, because the episode in itself was not terrible - it just felt so... meh compared to the rest of the show (before ep 11)

I don't really care about kisses/skinship. The ending to me just felt.... flat? (Idk how better to explain it)

Tae Gwang... That was the character Yook Sungjae played right? (I watched it so long ago I have blanked on character names)

I haven't been able to bring myself to watch this yet since I'm scared I will be disappointed (I loved S3 too much) - anyone who has watched this season, does it live up to season 3?

While I'm aware I'm basically watching a really long ad, it's too freaking adorable to stop!

Sigh. Classic GMM. Have a solid series, with a not-so-solid ending. Like I really wanted to love the show, but the ending didn't leave me satisfied. I can only hope they plan to pick it up for a season 2... (if there is any of the novel left for a season 2)

I mean, it's a bittersweet ending. I was not too mad at it to be honest...

Again 100% my own opinion/interpretation - if LWJ did check his pulses, perhaps LWJ was not skilled enough as a healer/doctor to be able to notice the missing core? For example, I would guess that WWX would have tried to check JC's condition through his pules after his rescue from Lotus Pier, but only Wen Qing, who was a very high skilled doctor,was able to recognize JC's missing core.
Then again, it could also perhaps be a minor plot hole used more for the dramatic impact of the discovery later on in the story...

The special edition is cut to be a bit more Wei Ying and Lan Zhan focused and has a few extended scenes. Its also organized to be totally chronological instead of to have a 30 episode flashback . To be honest there isn't a massive difference but its a great excuse to re-watch the show without technically re-watching the show!

1. Also, Mo Xuanyu had a very low spiritual energy and never formed a golden core.

3. In terms of the drama I think Wei Ying never fully repaired his relationship with Jiang Cheng and I think thats why he did not return to the Lotus Pier (this is totally my interpretation). In the book - spoilers for the end of the book by the way: Wei Ying and Lan Zhan get married and they live together in the Cloud Recesses
