How can a chaotic comedic sitcom be one of the most meaningful, deep and unproblematic BL shows I have ever seen while all the other "serious" BL shows are out there still flailing. I was so hesitant to watch this in the beginning due to it's sitcom nature but I am so so glad I decided to take the plunge and watch this. And if anyone is like me and unsure if they want to watch this - I would 100% suggest that you do. Its such a roller coaster of insanity but so worth the ride!
Idk why...I couldn't quite enjoy it like others did. Maybe I am losing my interest in BL. Help me T.T
Honestly, it definitely had some flaws, which is why I hesitate to give it a 10. That being said, after coming off the really disappointing ending of 2gether, this felt like a breath of fresh air. Which makes me think that 2gethers ending perhaps had some influence to the overwhelming response to the ending of My Engineer ( as I am seeing a decent number of comments comparing the 2 endings)
I don't think I have felt this satisfied at the end of a BL in a good long while. Sure there were some loose strings, but at lease we have a 2nd season confirmed!!!
No one can say they were surprised that shit hit the fan. It is such a classic BL move - conflict in 2nd to last episode and resolution as the conclusion. At this point I'm so much more surprised when this does not happen to be perfectly honest
This show is off the rails - in the best way possible! That being said - for as insane as the show is, it somehow manages to address some of the more blaring recurring issues in the BL sphere (dubcon/noncon stuff, generally shitty communication ect) while actually portraying a great romance AND being genuinely funny at the same time. Damn, I don't know why it took me so long to start watching this.
