On Love Like the Galaxy: Part 1 Jun 24, 2024
I thought I'd finally give this a try but honestly I'm not feeling it yet after 5 epis and I just had to fast-forward or I would've dropped it earlier, when will it pick up besides family drama??
Maybe this one is just not for me, but if anyone will tell me when it get's more interesting I'll try to give it another chance ^^

this sucks, the amount of time & money & effort of staff + actors that goes into producing and creating a 70 episodes drama with what seemed to be high quality on costume/cinematography production, just for it to never be aired?!?!
I srsly don't get this point of chinese drama land, like plssss sort out your issues before you put a fully filmed drama into the trash-bin?! I can't believe that censorship or an actors scandal or whatever can have such a big impact on everyone involved ( e.g. if there's rlly an actor issue then just don't hire that actor again, doesn't mean a whole fully filmed drama has to be scrubbed?)

Why is the rating so bad? The 6 epis that are out so far had me entertained ^^
Hope more people will give this a chance and check it out themselves ^^

Good fight scenes, humor without cringe and the couple is interesting & has potential :)
(the 'romantic music' scenes were a tad bit too long for my taste, but a quick fastforward solves that lol.)
would be a 8/10 or even 8,5/10 atm since I liked the last case they handled 'together'.

(edit: the rating was ~6,8/6,9 when I made my comment, so nice to see it jumped to 7,8 now ^^)

I don't want to wait for binge-watching and should be glad it's at least 2 epis/day, but stillllll it's not enough XD
I'm really looking forward to the time when all main charas have been introduced and we'll get the different interactions & deeper into the plot of this world :)

The main issue isn't the age difference, age doesn't matter in xianxia dramas. The problem is that she raised…
"Tushan raised me for 16 years; I'm eternally grateful." that is literally the realm of the foxes, the whole community 'raised' him by teaching him lessons and giving him a place to stay (while letting a kid pay rent lol). (they're all family-named Tushan and the realm is named Tushan)
the context of that scene was about the whole realm because she was curious if he just wanted personal revenge or cared about the fox-community too.

she didn't raise him personally, she let him stay in an empty house and that's not enough to parent a child.
she mostly was busy being a chief and the time she spent with him was e.g. the grilled chicken time, but if the show had focused on the broader community we could've gotten similar scenes with many foxes
(e.g. more about how did he get close to the other 2 sisters, how did he get to know the 'younger' foxes (they're supposed to be his 'similar age friends' when he's an adult, but considering they're fox spirits those are at least 100yo foxes too, so he wouldn't be allowed to be together with any fox-spirit cause they're all older, have known him as kid and taught him something?)

People are running wild here in the comment section. I just wanted to check out first impressions, but I think…
best to simply check out the 1. epi yourself ^^
some try to make a problem out of nothing (no they're not in a parental/child relationship, they're not even in a master/disciple relationship since he was raised by the whole fox community hehe)
otherwise: beautiful visual effects imo, interesting charas, easy but engaging story so far.

Really enjoyable mini-drama imo, but sadly the often mini-drama-on YT related sound & subtitle problems ^^
I liked all the charas/actors (ML is great at portraying all the different layers related to his chara) and thanks to the slightly humorous (but no cringe imo) storytelling it's a nice watch to take a breather from more depressing dramas ^^
The action and general scenes are quite well shot for a mini-drama :)

Dam this seem a little pedo-ish, from the 1st episode. The kid look like he 10 year old and Yang Mi is mid 30…
if you think there was any romantic/sexual tension between the fox spirit and a 10 year old child that's a you problem, cause they had 0%.
also she's not 30, she's thousands of years old, welcome to xanxia, age is literally irelevant besides the fact that she obv will fall for the adult yuechu in the future...

Title The Legend of Anle Spoiler
I haven't read the novel, I simply checked this drama out because I was happy to see Gong Jun & Liu Yu Ning in…
The fake marriage plot of the finale really rubbed me the wrong way:

(a) the way she hoped the prince would turn into the 'asshole willing to break up a couple' to show he loves her makes me suddenly question how well she knows him because it's 100% against his chara.
She decided to announce her (fake) marriage with Luo, so of course the prince would respect her wishes as always + respect his friend Luo?!?!

b) they had to hide their feelings behind hidden identities & a difficult past between their families & a sense of responsibility towards the emporer vs accusing the emporer etc.
so throughout the show they barely even got to acknowledge their feelings honestly towards each other and then we've reached the finale and all we get is a 'fake marriage plot' instead of a proper open conversation with the person you want to spend the rest of your life with??

sorry but that finale was not for me...

I haven't read the novel, I simply checked this drama out because I was happy to see Gong Jun & Liu Yu Ning in the same drama ^^
I liked the start of it, the bold FL with hidden plans was interesting & Gong Jun as soft righteous prince was absolutely adorable.

But then it fell flat for me, I wanted more of their investigating & the FL figuring out the past.
instead the storyline developed into a soap-opera vibe with the FL sticking to her marriage-scheme on a ridic level (considering it was obv she could've trusted the prince a bit more with what's going on) & her fake version coming in with more drama-lama that could've been handled better if they had treated her like an actual person instead of a tool they're disappointed in...

It finally got watch-worthy to me again when it came to a reveal of the FL's plans and the consequences for the FL/ML relationship.
The finale sadly fell flat again for me, because the writers really said 'let's have them lie & fake something for old times sake isn't it cute' instead of them having an honest conversation for Once!
(spoiler rant below ^^ )

I wanted to give it a 8/10 for the friendships & support charas I like, but considering I had to fast forward through quite a few epis to not drop this show I think 7,5 is the best I personally can give it ^^

I didn't mean that it isn't harassment, I just tried to say that it get's better later on (I could see it as her having to unlearn a lot of her earlier life), but I get if you don't want to watch it, we all have our limits :)

is nobody going to talk about his sexual harassment (by the FL) being played off as a joke?! its terrible to watch…
I totally get that this scene isn't easy to watch for everyone, but they later on have talks about what having kids and romance actually mean and she learns (like does she actually love & want kids or is it just because the late empress said so etc) ^^

Title A Journey to Love Spoiler
SPOILER PLEASE? ^^Can someone please help me with a spoiler to the FL & her ex-disciple relationship? (Ren Ru…
How much will this drag on/continue to play a big part of the plot/ will his chara stay in this brain-dead-mode of only thinking of her???

Have nothing against a crushing disciple storyline, but I just can't help despising how the show handles this:

a) Li Tong Guang was a chara I was interested in considering the set-up of his chara (struggling in court, interested in peace talks, his possible fiancé), but now they throw all of this away and his only personality atm is thinking about Ruyi...

b) I get that they're playing around with Ruyi learning about (healthy) romantic love from ML (overall cute), but the show is making it now seem like she has no capability to relate to Li Tong Guang even on a basic 'he admires Ruyi' level, while she herself revolves her own life around the late empress she loves/admires and even wanted to get kids just because the empress mentioned it...I struggle with this hypocrisy XD

c) yes they're having a sneaky mission and it's made difficult by Li Tong Guang recognizing Ruyi, but the constant gaslighting is making me want to punch something...

so any hope this will get better in later episodes? ^^

SPOILER PLEASE? ^^
Can someone please help me with a spoiler to the FL & her ex-disciple relationship? (Ren Ru Yi & Li Tong Guang)

I loved the start of the show but I'm sitting here at ~20/40 epis and even after weeks I can't bring myself to continue watching atm.
In the spoiler below I mention what I struggle with considering this storyline, so it's maybe easier to give me a reply to my question ^^

Title Romance of a Twin Flower Spoiler
finale rant ^^ I just don't get the total lack of communication between adults and the absolute disregard for…
I get what you mean, but I just can't help it that it ruined it for me ^^
that running 3 steps after the carriage was such a lackluster attempt and like I said I get they couldn't be together at that time, but I just can't forgive that they left him in grieve, even an anonynmus letter would've helped him accept the situation instead of being left hanging in doubts.
that has nothing to do with not being codependent on the person you love it's just common decency and I know I expect too much from drama-logic/tropes lol ^^
“no one can and should be everything to a person” yes sure, but he didn't have a year of selffullfillment instead he was struggling with grief:
considering his chara he probably had nightmares about her fall/extreme guilt thinking his personal messy (earlier) marriage situation was a cause in her death/ coped by burrying himself in work (his original support system aka Gui Bai being busy happily married in another city (deserved yay for happy Gui Bai <3) etc

I have family members that ended relationships mutually with a loved one because sometimes love alone sadly isn't enough in certain circumstances, so I have no problem with them separating and developing on their own for a while, but I can't forgive the show the 'how' they did that last epi (kinda re-traumatizing him), sorry just my personal opinion ^^
it hit so many of my pet-peeves all at once and if I were in his shoes I don't even know if I could go back into that relationship...
but that's why tastes are different and good if others could enjoy it ^^

I can watch this drama if I don't watch season 1 of this drama??
season 1 has a bit of a 'slow' start (getting to know his family and him trying to find his crush XD, which is fun too tho imho), but def. give s1 a try, because throughout season 1 sooo many small or big twist and turns happen that you would either be totally lost on trying to figure out what's happening in s2 or would just spoil yourself the journey of dicovery if you want to watch season 1 after season 2 ^^
(personally I wish I could rewatch season 1 for the first time again, because it was such fun a rollercoaster ride at times)

Title Romance of a Twin Flower Spoiler
I don't quite know what to think about this drama. The first few epis were a bit of a 'I'll stick this out' mindset,…
finale rant ^^
I just don't get the total lack of communication between adults and the absolute disregard for ML's feelings and somehow this is supposed to be a romantic ending Ig??!?!? -_-

I get that the situation wasn't easy, but that's when you're supposed to be adulting and sit down with the partner you supposedly love and have a talk.
and yes maybe they would've needed to part ways for a while and she could've established herself in another town etc...but it should've been a joined decision

but instead we get wonderful 'drama-logic' where she decides to walk away in his 'best interest' (nobody asked him), while he thinks the person he loves is probably dead for a whole fricking year, so all he got is being left grieving...
and when she finally comes back they have a weird non-talk pretending they're just fine and then he's forced into a marriage ...happy end~ yay?!?! -_-

honestly I'm just left here thinking 'he deserved so much better this whole year' and I'm not even that happy about their marriage because he was literally depressed and about to defy the emporer (= kinda death sentence) until the last second so yeah, sorry kinda ruined it for me...
