so you haven't watched the donghua or this drama, but have the time to spread plagiarism rumors? lol people throw around the word plagiarism for everything now, pls look up what actual plagiarism is and not just the use of it from chronically online people, this reminds me of KPop when a similar color of an album is suddenly 'plagiarism~' haha (as someone who watched both the donghua and this show, that accusation is ridic, it's like saying a show that has a stoic swordsman is cypying another show with a stoic swordsman, tropes exist, chara inspo like white-haired demons are nothing new, filming techniques have been used before, chinese mythology/folklore stories have existed before the donghua etc )
I'm only 7 epis in, but so far I really enjoy what we get out of the repeated different meet-ups of FL & ML & SML. So far these charas are well written with obv differences due to their backgrounds & life experiences and in each meeting they give a new perspective to each other on a situation. Even between ML & SML you see the moments they make each other think outside their own POV and I love to see that, I hope we can keep them on a level where they don't turn into outright enemies later on, because I'd prefer them to continue to grow with each other instead of killing each other XD
While I'm really enjoying grey-ML, it's cool to see SML checking in with FL in the temple & the path she's going down by lying, of course schemes are part of the business & she knows that, but that was also a moment to make her think about her future path without taking all grey-scale from her chara.
Ok I'm gonna stop my barely articulate rambling, just I love FL & ML & SML so far and hope we can see more of it ^^ (my headcanon is a well balanced throuple lol)

Yes agreed, he has a great physique for historical costumes and his face fits well with those long hairstyles overall :) and of course it's great to have a variety of charas and styles, it's just my personal weakness that I adore chara aesthetics like his look for Eternal Brotherhood & TSOPG, also e.g. Tian Jia Rui's style for My Journey To You and now Fangs Of Fortune: just something about all the 1000s little details in their costumes and hairstyles I would never want to bother with for myself IRL, but absolutely adore on charas haha :) (and this style also highlights both actors' faces nicely imo)
3 epis in and I'm hooked :) One of the dramas I was really looking forward to and it's an interesting story setting so far & well shot scenes. I'm happy to have another historical drama for LYN cause as much as I'm here for his acting, I sometimes just want to take in how beautiful he looks with this styling (and also did in Eternal Brotherhood) srsly thx to whoever came up with these looks for him, Masterpiece in my personal aesthetic haha :)

yes I've seen her before, that's why I was happy to see her in FoF now, but I've mainly seen her more recent dramas (like the Double) so I wasn't aware she was still such a young kiddo until I looked her up trying to remember her name today haha ^^. but it's great for her, she's already in interesting & larger productions at such a young age, so yes I also hope she can get main roles down the line :)

I totally agree, and if the comedy aspect is not everyones thing that's absolutely fine too, I'm just confused that some people act as if MJTY didn't have a smilar comedy style (and similar pacing): e.g. we were introduced to Gong Ziyu and Jin Fan banter from the start, the little 'fail' moments of charas that are highlighted by bgm and then a whole Gong Zishang exists who was an absolutely over the top unserious chara often :) so while FoF might have a few more outright jokes than MJTY, overall it's a similar vibe that Guo brought to these while at the same time letting each drama show its' individual storyline. (and I enjoy both dramas as they are so far)
I enjoyed this drama a lot. The bromance chemistry was amazing and overall it was nice to see the growth of different charas. The drama is overall very idealistic (despite the personal chara traumas), but I think sometimes we need that hope. I really wish it could get a 2nd season because it felt just like a first taste of what's possible for the team, but maybe could also consider this way it ends on a high note :)
9 epis in and I love this show so far :3 Besides the previous reasons that already made me love MJTY (cinematography, interesting charas, group dynamic, humour between all the sadness etc), I adore the unfolding of the stories: It feels like sitting down for a story-time hour and I really appreciate that atm, it's cozy to watch and it also allows us to get to know side-charas like the little fish demon and now the younger Pei sibling (and cry for them :')....) I'm really looking forward to each new epi atm and it's enjoyable to see the little team interactions (I'm so here for the developing friendships and my queer little heart also has fun shipping not just fl/ml but also the bl and gl vibes)
Give it a try, personally I'm not a fan of the more 'childish' charas (nothing aginst the actress but I disliked some of the charas she played), but in MJTY she's playing an actual kickass interesting lady :)
