Indeed, you are right. After episode 40 the drama becomes sooo boring, I can barely drag myself to watch more. The chemistry is gone, and the story seems to lack something. I don't know if I will watch the drama until the end. On the other hand, now that I restarted to watch HSALF with subs and HD quality, every episode seems so much better in comparison to before. Too bad for Fuyao, because some scenes are incredible beautiful and well done. Another case of good drama that went down the rabbit hole...the specialty of chinese entertainment industry.

Yes, It's true what you say. they messed up the story in fuyao. This apparently is the specialty of chinese dramas. everything is fine for a while, then everything goes down to rabbit hole. Take for example princess agents...what they did there is a mess. and so many other dramas. with heavy sweetness i had so many expectations....but the special effects look a bit cheap tbh and some reactions of the actors look a bit fake :( for example in the trailer for episode 8 when Phoenix faints, it looks really awkward. this is breaking my heart honestly because hsalf is my favorite book ever.

What you said is right..there are also some dramas that no matter how many chances you give them, you don't get into them. For example for me was Legend of Chusen. I tried to watch it 3 times, but everytime I found it extremely boring.

As I said before, it's a matter of taste. This is the beauty of chinese dramas..you have all kinds of dramas for all kinds of tastes :)

Nope indeed, i was reffering to the first 4 episodes of fuyao in comparison to the first 4 episodes of heavy sweetness. For me, untill now, the quality of fuyao is better :)

hmm..I think Legend of Fuyao is still the best drama this year so far. The quality is way better. This is my impression after the first 4 episodes. Let's see what happens as the drama continues.

In the book Jin Mi was tricked and she kills Xu Feng. Then she revives him, but a war starts between Fire God (Xu Feng) and Night Deity (Ren Yu). In the middle of the battle she tries to protect Xu Feng, but she is killed by both Fire & Night Deities at the same time. She reincarnates in a human later and she is finally together with Xu Feng.

Yeees, indeed. In the book Xu Feng has swinging moods, but this Xu Feng is too calm. I like though how Yang Zi plays Jin Mi. Let's see how the drama will progress ...

So I watched the first 2 episodes and I don't know what to say..I have mixed feelings. They changed some things from the book, like the arrival of Phoenix in Flower World, Master Pu Chi appears from the first episode already and some other things. Overall it looks decent and I am not disappointed until now, but let's see..I have a feeling it will get draggy and boring later on.

Terrible... I was expecting to watch the drama on Viki, considering i would get a good video quality and good subtitles, but unfortunately this is not possible :(
