On The Legend of the Blue Sea Jan 30, 2017
As other reviewers posted, the first half was better than the second. I'm not sure why they went down the makjang road. There were so many better routes this drama could have taken. I couldn't really feel the chemistry between the leads, their kiss scenes were a little bland. And even though Jeon Ji Hyeon did a good job, her character was better in Love from Another Star. Her character in this drama was a little too weak (despite the physical strength). Also I feel like they conman aspect of Min Ho's character was ignored and not explored enough. I wish they could have made it more interesting through that instead of forgetting about altogether.

It's a fun watch but nothing remarkable, which is unfortunate because the cast was good and the story was really good in the beginning. I like the way everyone was connected to the past and their roles in the present.

Unfortunately you can't help but compare this drama to Goblin as there are a lot of similarities but Goblin did everything better. From the friendships to the romance, to the plot line and the chemistry in Goblin is much stronger between the main leads. Because of that, at least for me, the Legend of Blue Sea couldn't compare and the makjang aspect made me lose interest.

Through 5+ years of watching dramas and this is the one that gave me an existential crisis. What is life? what is our purpose? what is choice? destiny? Is God cruel or are we the ones who fail to understand his questions?

Raising interesting questions wrapped in a beautiful romance is the perfect way to describe what Goblin was to me. Yes there are cliched parts, wayyyyyyyyy too much product placement (>_<") and at times it was predictable, but the writer built up such a breathtakingly beautiful world. The director and cinematography matched the writers imagination and the ost grows on you rather quickly. And ofcourse, the actors, esp surprised by Kim Go Eun who plays her character so well you end up falling for her almost as much as the main lead. And the bromance....so much bromance, it was half the reason I was watching the show, Gong Woo and Dong Wook have amazing chemistry.

This is definitely a drama I will treasure for a while and miss for a long time now.

Pretty cute and easy to watch, Jung Il Woo carries the entire show though, so you are only really watching it for him not the plot. The best scenes were of him and secretary Heo, it was such a cute relationship much like in Falling for Innocence (with Lee Shi Eon playing the same role).

At first I thought I might be sad because Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo ended...but damn... this drama killed…
I'm still having withdrawals from Kim Bok Joo. :( (Dr Kim helped but I still miss #SwagCouple).

It's 2017 and I still can't get over how brilliant and how much of a masterpiece this drama is. Everything from the story to the characters to the cinematography is so unique and executed so breathtakingly that it's deeply etched in my mind till today. Even the OST, I once told my sister the ost represented my life to which replied, Misaeng represents everyone's life. And that is so true. Hands down the best drama I ever watched.

Dramas are always thought to be just something we watch to entertain ourselves and most of the time its true, but there are times when dramas teach us more about life than we anticipated. Dr Kim was one of those dramas. Although the ending pushed its from a 9 to 8.5 for me (with too many things being rushed), the values taught in the drama echoed from beginning to end. I personally really enjoy the dramas where there is a mentor like figure (aka Misaeng and Chief Oh, which I will never get over no matter how many years pass) and this one was done brilliantly as well. There were times it came of as just a littttleee preachy but it reeled that back in quite well. The drama is all about the growth of each characters, even Dr Kim who throughout the drama grows and learns through his own mistakes as well.

It's a drama that reminds us the meaning of a romantic life and then demonstrates how to live one through Dr Kim.

I had the same thought! but then in signal she already was in love so it wouldn't fit...still would have been interesting.

this drama is so erratic. dropped at ep 15, i feel bad to have wasted my day coming so far. Second lead syndrome is too strong in this one as well. not worth the watch, but Joe Chen was charming in the episodes I managed to get through.

No#5 irks me the most. I hated the kiss series because of that, they would have been so much more enjoyable if she had just a tiny amount of backbone or skill...in anything!! I loved Miss Korea because it was the opposite of that. Every single female character written in that show was strong and inspiring.
Also all of PSH dramas....zero chemistry. Every.Single.Drama.

On Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo Jan 12, 2017
This drama was so sweet. It flowed so naturally you don't get bored at all, which is surprising because there are no major plots or secrets or cliches to keep you hooked. It just works on natural chemistry, of the friends, the teachers, the school and ofc our #SWAGCouple. Those two were just so natural with their chemistry. And main lead wasn't your average drama-jerk but someone who kept worrying he was hurting Bok Joo with his words and would constantly try to take back what he said. His growth from a teasing friend to a caring boyfriend was created so naturally! Adorable drama, everyone should watch i for the happiness if gives your heart...!

This drama was special, my favourite character being Yuri-chan. She was so strong but also fragile because of societal pressure on older single women. She really is someone who (as she mentions) can inspire younger woman by being the kind of character you say "she's there, so we can continue fighting!"

The last episode really made me love this drama more with truly showing how much Hiramasa has grown and developed. This is finally a drama where the main female lead is not a manic pixie girl but someone with her own insecurities her own doubts and has her own story where she has to grow. I love how collaborative and unsure they portray marriage to be, it really gives it a slice of reality. No one is sure how to handle sharing a life with someone and this is portrayed beautifully in the drama. I love dramaland for all its rose tinted view of love but its nice to have dramas like these which remind us that even in the daily struggle of who cleans what there is just as much love as in a melodrama.

Title Beautiful Gong Shim Spoiler
Nice drama, I just think they could have removed that awful wig earlier in the show and the end was really messy.…
Yeah I hate when writers do the whole staying away and not contacting thing. I mean....we live in an age of multiple apps that allow us to stay in touch....it's ridiculous how they expect people to buy that crap.

This drama could be awarded with the slowest moving plot of all time. literally there was nothing happening in middle episodes, as if the writers forgot there was a storyline that they should be creating.

As someone else pointed out our badass main lead becomes a wimp since there is nothing happening and so he just can't seem to be able to do anything. It frustrates the heck out of you. I also wish the female lead's wig was out sooner but it does kind of grow on you after a while. I forgot how pretty she was till the last episode. The synopsis is also kind of misleading the elder sister doesn't have much of a story line apart from being selfish and annoying and you can basically skip her parts and not even miss any part of the story (I can never get over the fact that Gong Shim's entire family was ok with her having no room in their own house!!! and then somehow be all loving towards the end).

That being said the show still gets a 7 from me for the romance (great chemistry wasted on an an extremely slow moving plot-line) but more so for the comedy. If there's one thing that happened in each episode it was that I was laughing out loud so much. There is so much comedy in this drama and all the actors all did a great job to bring it out (esp the episode where the 2 dads meet!). So watch it if you are out of dramas and want something genuinely funny and cute.

On When a Snail Falls in Love Dec 16, 2016
i guess i really shouldn't have watched this after watching signal, because the comparisons were inevitable. I found this drama to be quite lacking, the acting was weak, the murder case made unnecessarily complicated and didn't add to the suspense much. Towards the last few episodes I was skipping through just picking up the gist of what was happening just to finish it off. I'm quite thrown by the high ratings and glowing reviews cause I really didn't feel it in this. Tbh honest there is no character development and the plot is convoluted.. Unlike in signal you don't get the feeling there is any real profiling going on, it just seems to be random connections made.

The only thing i liked about this drama was the cuteness of the main female lead and her drawings which were awesome.
