Fantastic shot at the ending of episode 3, side view as she try to eat that candy off her elbow then suddenly anna ishi resurface on her highschool uniform. Love the cast these girls have some great visuals and the director knows it. The symbolism of these chairs is just to deep for me.
An enjoyable 2 hours of experience typical giddens ko movie which is a nice blend of comedic and touching moments with several media references thrown around. The theme is also fascinating and fresh haven't seen a movie tackle reincarnation/soulmates this way I would say it is well written since it's all clear to me in the end. I'm also happy that pinky will get her chance for love I know opposites attract but sometimes having the same personality works too.
One cameo is from nagi no oitoma is it safe to say both share the same universe??? but yoshida yoh is in both having the same surname..same person or probably a twin. lol
Nagi no Oitoma team did it again the formula is the same not just main characters will explore the theme but all the characters and the writer manage to weave their stories into a beautiful wonderful narrative pattern. Acting is very good the cast here is very strong I think Japan has found another Ashida Mana in Maida Nono. Having seen many Jdramas the twist doesn't feel anything special I actually saw that coming from afar but still the execution is very good speaking of execution my favorite is the homecoming part some hearwarming dialogue was thrown in that episode also that "good night" "good morning" ending is top notch metaphor. If you like family drama if you love slice of life the way Japan did it this is a must watch. My quintessential Japanese drama of 2022 as of now, Japanese sensibility at its core, they just have a unique way of observing and describing our world.
Short and straightforward zero unnecessary drama. Will explore the theme from beginning to end which exactly what jdramas are about. The subject is serious but it didn't go overdramatic kudos to animated acting and setting. Highly recommended to those who want some lighthearted drama with positive vibes.
A beautiful tale told in span of decades, the plot may seem grandeur but it's really just a simple story that might appear familiar to you. The subject is moving but not ovedramatic, it has joyful tone thanks to that jazzy music and tight pacing. Characters are very interesting they are the ones that efforlessly move the plot kudos to very good acting and script. No one can beat Japan in terms of good family drama the tone may be comedic at times but familial bond always remains grounded, relatability is really high.
Are all episodes ended with a twist? dude that ending in episode 2 is like an asteroid falling from the sky kind of unexpected it caught me off guard. lol
Lol I didn't thought it would get that dark I'm on the verge of dropping this thinking it's your ordinary infidelity drama and I'm glad I didn't. If your view on world is as black and white you would hate everything in this drama writing, characters, theme etc. like all so I suggest drop it already. Exploring human condition is the thing that always fascinates me from film, documentary, books or even games so this is totally for me. Aside from the theme the atmosphere is what sucks me in . . . it's horror, it's original but it makes sense. The last part is also the best part as pitch black characters becoming less dark. I love how this drama made me develop sympanthy for his mother whom I really despise at the beginning kudos to the writing and also the actress she is very good. It will make you think there's a cycle here and will continue to repeat over and over until someone or something stopped it which in this case a manga. I like how this drama explored this intricate relationship between our two leads it is really well made in my opinion. The ending I think is also up to interpretentation because there are 2 types of ending people would want in this drama the happy ending and the logical ending I choose the latter btw.
This is a very good drama but it went too long and the mid part felt a bit weaker it could have been a masterpiece for me but still a solid drama.
RPG styled coming of age film very neat idea it didn't occur to me until now that JRPGS are actually the coming of age of video games. I really enjoyed watching the journey of these kids told in a WTF Japan fashion, the pacing and editing just works for me didn't even touch my phone while watching. This film is really creative it's like a toned down Tetsuya Nakashima injected with so much youth energy I'm really curious what more can this director give in the future. Also I thought that girl looks familar it turned out she's the one from those pocari sweat commercials, the boy also that kid from Koreeda's like father like son he's big now. lol
Fun, Short, Fast, Entertaining and Reflective the type of film that is for everyone especially for those who who got the same attention span of a goldfish.
Too cliche for me but atleast I enjoyed the comedy that elevator scene where 3 of them got stucked is too funny. Hanae's character makes sense given her childhood what I love the most about this drama is how it explored the relationship between these 3 orphan kids that kind of bond will last even longer than 100 years..
Life's referee hasn't called you out with a ten second count just yet that line is deep holys**t. Life tag is missing there above. I also like their talk why people choose boxing as sport and that ending perfectly executed. I hope there will be time skip at that last episode I want to see what will happen to these kids.
It's been years and I finally watched it, and now I probably know why no one had subbed it. Most mainstream viewers would get uncomfortable watching someting like this, the message not everyone will get it. To me it seems this drama is a way for Sakamoto Yuji to criticize Japan and he made it sure his voice will be heard LOUD. I don't agree that this drama should be longer, 5 episodes is enough to convery that message. It's one of those where the message is more signicant than the plot or if there is any plot at all. It mimics those random nonesense Japanese movies that has cult following around the world.
I like the relationship dynamics between the two leads like all of a sudden he found an older brother which is someone he really needed at the moment. I think I will like it more had they incorporate the girl and his younger brother more into the story, these 4 are always fun to watch, somewhat a wasted opportunity to be honest. The drama also felt a lot longer maybe 10 eps would be enough.
Short, Fun, Food, Heartache and Love 5 words I can use to describe this drama with random quirky characters that give it a lot of life. It is slice of life in a way where we observe the protagonist, a manga artist on how she spends her day gathering data for her manga, a process which is very fascinating for me.
