Cannes over oscars any day. Critics got to judge and not casual movie goers so not many people knew about this movie doesn't even matter. Well at least you're honest and not just bandwagon like others because honestly I can see the argument why people preferring joker over parasite. Remember the quote from scorsese about difference between movie and cinema?
Art is subjective and people have different taste but sadly yours don't match those of people who got to judge the event. Oscars is not a popularity contest. Not just critics from oscars and cannes but also from review sites such as rotten tomatoes love this movie and believe me there are movie enthusiast who are just passionate towards films, most of them doesn't care about politics and sjw crap.

Not fan of airhead female lead trope but what makes this drama different is there is a character development and mone is very natural in her role..no cringe moment at all. I'll give you an example of air head female lead with no character development....last year's hottest jdrama coffee and vanilla.
She lived in Japan so she will disappear slowly. In japan if you're cancelledt they mean it. If only she was a youtuber just give it one week and people will love her again...like that dude who mocked a dead or that video game streamer who cheated on his wife. I also hope people who despised her would have the same attitude towards Hollywood celebs.

Not all movies are the same BTW if you got upset by this movie then I wouldn't be surprised if some artsy movies shown in cannes would make you quit movies forever. See the rating on the left 18+. Wild youth, sex, partying & friendship which are conveyed through the director's use of vivid colors and artistic shots. It reminds me of movies such as World of Kanako and Helter Skelter. The movie revolves around one character chiwawa and how her life affects people around her....her friends. You might be dissapointed if you view this as just a murder mystery which I think this movie is not about but having said that i'm still not satisfied with how it ended, I feel there is something missing. What needs to be praised though is the casting, all these young actors have great charisma that fits well with its chaotic and colouful narrative.
