He's the definition of hit or miss. Some of his movies are my favorites but some of them are just straight garbage especially movies where he experiment a lot. Him and Sion sono has similarities not only their style but most of their mainstream movies sucks like it seems they are in it just for the money, maybe to fund their passion project. I heard first love is really good so I'm excited to see that one.
I like the contrast between the anger expressed by the two lead characters, one is more subdued and the other one is gunblazing wild swinging like a kamikaze figther jet. It seems like a typical inspiring boxing movie at the cover but boxing is just a vehicle used to better show the motivation of these characters, it is a character driven movie.
Wonderfully acted by suda masaki and Yang Ik Jun, but not just them but all actors. Each characters have their own struggles and quirks that made them memorable. Not an easy to watch film as whole movie was shrouded by the theme of hopelessnes; abadoned by parents, speech impediment, sex workers and a society with people committing suicide. It is also not for everyone there are sex scenes and the movie is almost 3 hours long, but that's the appeal of slow burn movie, you just sip it slowly like your hot coffee in the morning.
Same staff as Boku wa Mari no Naka? it feels like it cause both have same style. I especially love the cinematography in this drama, and one music in particular sounds like the one in All about lily chou chou movie.
Hashimoto Ai dramas not getting subs even here with popular actors such as takahata mitsuki and mackenyu. It's weird that with amazing cast, no one picked this drama yet.
yes so that limits movie choices I want to see more variety in the drama choices, 1 drama winning everything is…
Dakara Watashi wa Oshimashita won't win trust me. I know not many have seen that drama. Maybe Nagi no Oitoma but I even won't count on that one. The dramas that I think have huge chance to win are Hiiragi Sensei and Hajimete koi. Coffee and Vanilla is the hottest this year though so who knows. I don't take mdl awards seriously but I still vote just to participate.
Japanese celebs often shocking me with their marriage news. Because they rarely open about their romance and relationship.…
It's the "More You Love The More You Hate" thingy. Idols are different as they are promoted for the fans to worship them, not all of course, but you know what I mean. So when they did something fans don't like it would be a national issue. Toxic fans exist from either korea and japan, but I find japanese fans more forgiving though.
It's like a live action of a murder-mystery visual novel game lol super unrealistic. The most annoying character…
My main concern is that character who went crazy in the end. lol I don't see the logic behind his actions. And it's not even bad acting but lousy script. I even felt bad about the actor because I know he's good.
I watched it for that tasty ramen but got something more meaningful in the end. Who would have thought lol. I also love the ending, Matsuda Seiko the ethereal beauty.

Hopefully part 2 will also be subbed.
