Believe this is a shelved project. This didn't get the required investment back then and no news on this after that. On top of that the Yang Xuwen scandal in 2017, which he just recovered from.
It was pretty funny at the beginning with CZY not knowing anything, but the rest is pretty boring honestly, even the historical flashbacks were more interesting.
Why does it feel like this movie is shot in permanent 1.25x speed, the pace is pretty offputting. Overall, I'd say it's pretty decent, standard but catchy plot, it's pretty cheesy though. And some nice effects, especially the good old use of explosives or not depends on taste. The sets and surroundings used are pretty. Makes me still have some hope in domestic webmovies.
This is actually pretty good, by that I mean the secondary couple Bai Ping & Wei Lan. The main couple's story is kinda odd, maybe just somewhat funny. Xu Zilin was fine though, but Xia Libin was just not interesting. Also the ending is not really that satisfying, but it's whatever.
Oh god, not another palace drama. But Gulinazha and Kira Shi might be interesting to watch. Btw funny fact, the FL name is the same as the title of Love and Redemption aka 琉璃 Liu Li.
Only thing any worth watching is the trio Ye Kai, Ding Linglin & Lu Xiaojia. Idk, the plot is pretty general and draggy, if there's even one. I want to kill you for this grudge... I'll let you alive today x99. The ML & FL are not that interesting, also the love triangle with Cui Nong is even more boring.
