Drama out of nowhere that scores great on douban and has barely any ratings on mdl, must be a great watch. Reminds me somewhat of Be with You, speaking of which, can they release the 2nd season of that one already, can't believe it's been almost 3 years already. Guess I know what to watch for my first drama of 2026.
It started pretty well with the golden peach case, but the cases after that were weak and dull. Mostly being murder cases involving lovers or some pitiful girl, at least it felt like it with how much it dragged during those 'emotional' plays. Supernatural/strange cases, what are those? Guess the screenwriter ran out of ideas after two seasons, god knows what he can still come up with for the next three seasons. But this series is still better compared to most of the rest of what cdramaland has to offer in recent years, so there's that. And it's still a great experience having the same cast for multiple seasons, even seeing people grow up. Especially love the cameos from characters of previous seasons.
Again how does this guy not get any bigger roles, it was great to see him back in Strange Tales. Not counting the short dramas he does, which aren't listed here.
This is exactly what I was missing in season 2. Season 2 was still good, but the political intrigue between the Crown Prince/Emperor and the Grand Princess factions really turns it up a notch like in season 1.
i started the show yesterday and dropped it after 6 episodes. IQIYI has posted some long videos on Youtube so…
I know about the highlights version, they are really trying to cater to the low attention span audience, very smart decision, lol. But if I'm gonna watch a drama, it's a complete one without skipping, otherwise I might as well drop it at that point.
An amnesia trope plot in this day and age, alright why not, but what a bunch of nonsense filler. Ten episodes in so far, the plot barely moved forward on seeking clues on the conspiracy. And what's with the bgm, it's always the same song and every single time it feels out of place. Mostly watching for Chen Zheyuan anyways. It's great he dubs his own voice now, but still offputting seeing him act a "domineering" role, just doesn't really roll.
Don't think there was this comedic vibe when I watched the motion comic years ago, but it does add flavor. All I remember it was very lame and repetitive as the mc knew about everything, every thought and every future action already.
Quite bold straight from the first second, a bit too fanservicy for my liking though 😅 But nice to see more of these "male oriented" horizontal short dramas lately.
He took a mountain of a man with him, but couldn’t take a tiny creature? Zero logic
It's not his to take anyways as he doesn't own the spirit beast. He rented it from the Qilin Pavillion, a place in the Yellow Maple Valley where they raise spirit beasts, to just find a suitable cave.
A question from an amateur (please don't stone me 😁): Why does an immortal master die? Isn't it a bit contradictory?
Mortals call cultivators immortals as they basically have superpowers and a longer lifespan every higher cultivation realm, not truly immortal or invincible. A Foundation Establishment cultivator has a lifespan of 200 years, a Core Formation cultivator 600 years, and so on.
So where the heck did he teleport to? Am confused.
A different continent called the Scattered Star Seas. There is Tiannan where this season's arc happened, but only in a very small area, the State of Yue. The whole Tiannan is much bigger with much stronger forces. The Heavenly Dao Alliance in the north, the Righteous and Demonic Dao Alliance (State of Yue is in this part) in the center, and the Nine Nation Alliance in the south bordering the Grasslands' north border. The Scattered Star Seas is where he teleported to, an accumulation of many islands where human and beast cultivators "co-exist", it would take many years flying even as a Nascent Soul to get there from Tiannan. The Grasslands is where the hostile Mulan and Tianlan Tribes are. Great Jin is the strongest and largest cultivation continent and borders the Grasslands' south(-west) border. And there is also Tiansha, the Ice Sea and the Five Dragon Seas somewhere there in the vast ocean, but not really relevant.
