there are 7 sect, but i usually saw 4 , where are the other 3? or am i mislooking?
They are there, you see some elders/disciples here and there. Like Fuyun Zi of the Clear Void Sect, Li Huayuan's Mahjong buddy. Feng Yue of the Heavenly Gate Fort, the umbrella guy Han Li fought. Nangong Wan and co. of the Masked Moon Sect. Han Yunzhi and spies of the Spirit Beast Mountain. And the last two Giant Sword Sect and Bladification Dock that are just in the background, like there were some disciples at the Yan Fort wedding. They are also just mostly fighting in their own fronts.
It's just a matter of that they don't serve much purpose in the plot and the sects aren't particularly close to each other in distance, so they are only known on surface level and mostly in the background. The Yellow Maple Valley is in the end the main focus in this arc.
Now as this has finished, it's a great time to chase the donghua. This saturday is going to be a historical milestone as Han Li starts his breakthrough to Nascent Soul where he will confront his inner demons.
That is where it ends. It was already revealed long before release that this season would only adapt the Tiannan arc, and it's also shown on the release calendar along other important plot points.
Eps 20 and 21 were a major letdown....The storytelling felt disjointed with abrupt transitions and the editing…
That's because the current Imperial City arc consisting of episodes 20 to 24 is going over 4 times faster than the previous arcs. Definitely most cuts are in this arc, which is an interesting decision as this is one of the most exciting arcs. After this it should go down a notch, though only by a little.
In Episode 22, there were significant cuts made. The transitions between scenes were poorly executed once again,…
The current Imperial City arc consisting of episodes 20 to 24 is going over 4 times faster than the previous arcs, and it's also one of the most interesting arcs in the complete Tiannan arc. It's insane, considering they even made the previous non important arcs extra watery.
The Yellow Maple Valley is a creek and a cave as the main hall. The Masked Moon Sect is a couple of rocks on a big rock, their ship is also a rock. The Joint Pleasure Sect is a single tree on a grassland.
You might question (probably not), why are they showing Nangong Wan eating a bowl of chestnuts multiple times? It's a subtle joke: Bowl = (Nangong) Wan; Chestnut = (Han) Lizi
As a person who watched the donghua and watching this. At this point i don't even understand whats going on anymore....This…
Nothing hard to understand, it follows the exact plot points on the dot. Some just follow the novel more, and some are made more watery as tradition for a drama.
I can't, the Masked Moon Sect is a single rock, and their ship is also a single rock, lol. The rear cabin of this thing must be hidden under that other rock.
Had to see this for myself when I saw the 4.3 on douban and I kind of agree. This one was hard to get into, the cgi is so bad at the start and it's very draggy until they get to Qionghua to solve some mysteries. Gladly romance wasn't the focus in here like most xianxia, but Mengli would've made a more interesting FL.
It started off pretty interesting in the village, but after that it's so much nonsense filler dialogue and sideplots that there's barely any progress many episodes in. There is no sense of urgency when they keep getting sidetracked. The fight scenes and the setting were still interesting enough for me to keep watching though.
What an amazing rewatch, wuxia adventure stories never get old, Xiao Yu'er is still as funny and Hua Wuque is still as chill. Forgot more than I expected though. One of the two netflix cdramas that started my journey during covid, those were the simpler drama addict times, can't believe it's been nearly 5 years already. Anyway, also still love the OST, been listening to the songs on and off throughout these years.
Do we know if this will adapt the full story, or can we expect a season 1 kind of thing without a guarantee of…
This season will only cover the Tiannan (天南) arc, deducing from the length and characters that have been announced. And that is not even close to the full story (15%), like a little drop in the Scattered Star Seas as one might say.
It's just a matter of that they don't serve much purpose in the plot and the sects aren't particularly close to each other in distance, so they are only known on surface level and mostly in the background. The Yellow Maple Valley is in the end the main focus in this arc.
Recommend watching it from the very start as it's just done much better on all aspects, from emotional scenes to actual scenery. Otherwise start from a bit before the end of episode 63.
