when the two brothers meet... the feels!
I rly hope there will be a season 2, so many unanswered questions: how ParkDongGun became the president of humanB, who or what Byul actually is, what happened to the cube, JungSeokWon's identity, when was the picture of Woojin in the president's room taken? (was it the clone?), will Byul&Woojin live forever?
Thanks for the interesting article. It's important to know and differentiate what elements were incorporated into dramas. I think it would be awesome if you were to write one about movies as well :)
Also, from my understanding and research, Ruler: Master of the Mask is completely fiction and is not based on any of the actual kings in the Joseon dynasty. Like you pointed out, if you were to match the period of the drama, it would indeed be during the time of King Sukjong as there are numerous parallels but I just wanted to clarify that the characters are entirely fictitious.
lollll i couldn't help but laugh when Gon said, "Agasshi, should I get rid of that girl?"
And the scenes with the main leads were so mushy but cute hehe
Am I the only one who doesn't hate Moo Bin? Sure, he's pushy and annoying when he tries to govern who…
Maybe I'm more generous towards him bc I never thought about his character outside the dramaworld so I do understand where you're coming from since you're basing everything in real life lol I wasn't thinking to that extent

I wouldn't want someone I liked to be so close to a 'friend' of the opposite gender either especially if we weren't in good terms in the past. I mean, I understand Moobin is selfish by asking her to stay away from Dongman but his feelings for Aera are genuine from what I see. I don't see him as manipulative, just pushy and really awkward, unable to express himself (not a people person, probably studied all the way to med school without much human interaction lol) I know a lot of people were turned off by his remark about the 'expensive room' and his mom but I think he's just really dorky and straightforward, not to mention blunt and honest which strays far from being manipulative. He's not scheming, caculative, or devious at all. If he were really manipulative as you say, he wouldn't say something so forward. He's not a 'nice' guy per say but he's not evil either. I see him more as a naiive and ignorant child so I can't hate his character. He's simpleminded and clueless to his surroundings as he didn't even know Aera was stressing throughout their date. So yeah, basically long story short, what I'm saying is that, he ain't manipulative lol
Why, oh, Why do the Korean directors keep down-dressing their actresses and have her date a guy who dresses well?…
It's very common in Korea to keep relationships private, ESPECIALLY if u attend the same company. It's bc of all the gossip and inconvenience that come with making it public. Also, it might have been Seolhee who asked to keep it a secret, considering her timid character probably thinking other ppl will look down on him bc of her. Jooman might also think something similar as the other employees will bother her bc of him. He's for sure not taking her for granted and the only reason he's putting off the marriage is bc they're not financially able to. Furthermore, Jooman's family is really poor which adds to the financial ordeals

It's not Yejin, it's Seolhee lol Did u even watch the drama?
And the reason why Seolhee dresses like that is bc she's become a 'mom' to him, always caring for him and wanting what's best for him just like how a mother would feel, thinking it's a waste of money to spend it on themselves, especially bc they've been dating so long and he's like family to her now. I understand both Seolhee and Jooman's feelings so it's very interesting to watch how it plays out. I agree that she deserves to dress better and I'm sure the directors will start changing her appearance little by little, I think they just wanted to emphasize how much she cares for him by showing the little things she sacrifices for him.
So many KMJ haters and it's only ep 2 lol
I understand disliking her acting as you might find it over-exaggerated or whatnot but hating KMJ bc of her character is ridiculous. I mean come on, she's just following the script and trying her best to portray the character in her own unique way. And like all other dramas, some annoying events take place, whether it be the character or the situation, in order for the story to progress. You probably knew that already though. Let's just give it time to play out, yeah? ;)
I'm also confused to who or what OJO is. I'm leaning towards the theory of 'soul of the typewriter' bc he said he fell in love with Jeonseol at first sight when he met her at the airport coming from America (when she picked him/the typewriter up from the airport). I'm guessing he is not the soul of the typewriter persay but probably his soul from when he was human attached itself to it due to some problems from the past. This drama is so eerily intriguing lol
Edit// i'm not 100% sure other people can see OJO either... Bangjin might have spiritual powers so she can be an exception, BTM's dad's surprised face and anger may have been due to seeing the first draft paper and not OJO as he says,"You have someTHING no writer should have in his writing room " and his reaction is strange considering he doesn't know exactly who OJO is and to assume he's a ghost writer off the bat.

Can't wait to see ep 6 :)
