Even if some people believe that there were nonconsensual sexual acts akin to sexual assault in this series, if…
I agree with you to some degree but I think my analysis was not about whether its consensual or not but why such forceful scenes are in there. Thats why I avoided the word rape and used the term non-consensual. Regardless of what the state of mind of the character is, we can recognize that the kind of sex they had was not what we would term fully consensual sex. Tharn forced himself onto him. We see this in most bls, even in Lovesick. I tried to answer why without being judgmental about the moral values of the author, the viewer or Thai culture.
I think this is easily the most anticipated show in the Thai BL industry, at least for 2020.... until we get TharnType 2 :P or LoveSick 3.... Oh if we ever get LS3, I bet that's going to break all kinds of records....
Now I need to get around watching the first season of this... :P
I am a lot confused too.. so many straight couple that like who cares about them? Also for best kiss I'm speechless…
and by not a fan, I mean, I don't "ship" them. They are to me a power couple in the BL industry. Off is very business savvy and Gun is a pretty smart man, so I sometimes think its all for show. They make so much money out of it :) But Gun Atthaphan is one of my favorite actors in BL, so don't get me wrong!

I am not a huge OffGun fan but you are right. Any "best kiss" category should include OffGun's ToL kiss. That was at another level. It looked very real and passionate.
I was watching a Netflix documentary on sex and they mentioned how it is very common in many cultures to romanticize rape. They specifically mentioned Thai slap/kiss lakorns. The experts they interviewed mentioned how rape also shows up in novels written by women and that this is often because the rape itself is a way for women to engage in sex without the stigma of premarital sex (in other ways, its a plot device to circumvent the moral dilemma of premarital sex).
I think in BL, rape serves often to circumvent the moral dilemma of being gay, that is initiating sex with another man willingly and in a romantic way. Or it could simply be that because women write BL, we get the same fantasies transposed into the BL genera.
In Make It Right, rape is a plot device used to bring the MC and the secondary couple together and it thus follows the principles outlined above. But what about TharnType? I think the acts of non-consensual sex in TT are about de-romanticizing gay sex, making it primal and allowing the character of Type to remain ambiguous about his sexuality so that we can be kept wondering what will happen with him and Tharn. In fact, when Tharn and Type finally enter into a consensual relationship, romance is taken out of the equation AGAIN as Tharn and Type are just sex buddies in the beginning. Honestly, I think that Thai BL shows are simply a reflection of the Thai culture and that we can always see hints of homophobia and misogyny in most of these shows. No society is perfect and I will say that I am grateful for Thailand and its wonderful BL industry. Perfect or not, Thai BL is something very unique and I treasure the large number of original stories that they have brought to life.
This is such a good BL series!! I haven't watched a lot of Bl this year... So any recommendations? Don't recommend…
I am currently watching 3 Will Be Free and I am enjoying it. Another one I liked this year was He's Coming To Me. It is a very beautiful story with an unexpected twist.
hey guys. Kinda new to Bl. Where do you find out about BL series? I hope to find great BL's like this one in the…
Check out our lists on mydramalist. Mydramalist is a great resource! There are also several bloggers. One of the best ones IMO is Psycho-milk.com.
Among the "classic" BLs that you may want to check out are: Lovesick, Love by Chance, and SOTUS. Almost everyone here will say their favorite BL is one of those 3 (or maybe all 3!)....
2020 is nearly here and there is always hope we will meet in other BL drama comments section :)
I see Liz a lot in other forums. You will probably see me as well ;)
I will be there when A tale of a thousand stars airs (I am a huge fan of White Nawat) and most likely will be there for Whyru and The Shipper. I am also a very loyal fan of Ohm Pawat so I am very excited about The Shipper and may even watch the one or two mundane dramas he will be in in 2020.
On our way to 6k comments. Mulffins you are all doing great. Let keep watching
I think this is another record this show broke that people always forget. I am sure its the fastest to reach 5k comments on kisskh out of all the Thai BL shows....
The serie is the biggest BL of the year so for me it is basically sure that we will having a sequel. But do we…
You have a good point and TBH I worry about a second season for this show, however one could make an argument that LS2 was better than LS1. After all, LS1 ended in nothing and LS2 gave us the closure we needed for the MC. Granted, LS2 introduced a lot of couples that went nowhere, had a lot of filler from the secondary characters, dragged in parts, and was a bit repetitive BUT it also gave us some lovely moments, including the Phun-Noh deleted kiss, the cute under-the-blanket-scene at the camping trip that still makes me laugh, the Jeed scene with the line "I call it love" that is so iconic for the series, and some lovely scenes with August and Ngern. Overall, LS2 to me is an improvement over LS1 but then again LS1 had so much to improve. Can TharnType improve? That is the real question.

I think you mean Puppy Honey 2 was a good sequel to Puppy honey? Senior Secret Love is the name of the series of which Puppy Honey is actually the second one (My Lil Boy is the first!).

TharnType does not. Its only available on LineTV.
Usually (but not always) GMMTV shows are available on the official GMMTV channel on youtube. They are translated in multiple languages.
The analysis I did also extends to Types fantasies.
PD I edited it because it was bothering me. There is no such thing as "consensual rape". I just couldn't leave it there :P

But the more views the better for the BL world.
