the last scene it's definitely an overwhelming moment for getting me to feel their tension. the heartbreaking silence before the uber comes,and her crying after, are especially powerful for me. i think the movie wanted to portray realism and to keep us grounded to the real-world concerns, this is why we get that "vague" sense the whole time
it's different from Koreeda's previous works related to family dramas and kids,this leans towards crime genre. it certainly raises more questions than answers ,it's up to the viewer to interpret and process it.
