this is the third and last part of the trilogy called "Hakodate Trilogy". the other two movies are Sketches of Kaitan City (2010) and the Light Shines Only There (2014). all three movies are based on the works of author Yasushi Satô and are set in Hakodate,the author's hometown in Hokkaido,northern Japan. Hakodate is one of the largest cities in Japan, rich in nature and history.
i enjoyed this film for what it is.nothing extraordinary is happening, it's just average people battling inner demons. we all have a cross to bear ,haven't we? life is a struggle and our personal issues affect the ability to cope with everyday life and deal with others. aoi yu's character is annoying but her performance as a bipolar girl stuck on me
