Even though I do think JCY needs to work for forgiveness, personally, I would never forgive him for that in real life. Unless, of course, he was lying about knowing. I mean, if they go that route, it would just be another tired trope, but I’d still prefer that over him actually knowing.

You’re right—it’s not all shows. I’m watching Are You the One right now, and while I’m not at the groveling phase yet, from what I’ve read, the female lead does make him work for forgiveness. Still, there are a lot of shows that follow that pattern. I do like that Mu Dan doesn’t make revenge her entire life tho—she takes it when it’s thoroughly deserved. But the writers are starting to push that a bit too far. Maybe the writers will change directions with that and make JCY work for forgiveness, but the show is almost over, so not really any time for that angle lol

I’ve noticed this in a lot of dramas, and it’s portrayed as female empowerment. Although this isn’t anything new—there was just a brief reprieve for a while, and now it’s business as usual. I’ve gotta say, one of the worst scenes recently was in The Prisoner of Beauty when the male lead chokes the female lead. At least JCY never physically harmed Mudan.
They could have at least had her stab JCY a bit higher, closer to the shoulder, so it didn’t look so ridiculous and unbelievable sticking out of his chest like that. It was just silly. I’m not happy with any part of that scene/story direction, but where she stabbed him—and him just standing there like he got a paper cut—is absolutely ridiculous.
If it is one episode per day, so it will end around two weeks from now.
That seems like that's what they're going with. At least on Viki. The past 3 episodes were all one per day and it says tomorrows episode will also just be one.
