You don't think there's another explanation for what JCY did? As it stands, I personally find it unforgivable, but what if there's a solid reason for it. There has to be something more or why else would Mudan forgive so easily?

Mu dan finds out JCY is harboring her mother's killer and knew what he did to her mom this whole time. He's the man caring for the orphanage children. And JCY won't let her harm him. That's the main one

Don't be afraid. I look at it as a final hurdle to get to the good stuff (relationship wise between the leads). I feel we should have already been given the good stuff, but the writers are being supreme turds and are making us wait, so one last hill to climb.

He plays every character so well 😭 I just discovered him through Flourished Peony, and I’m still working my way through his filmography—but he’s been fantastic in everything I’ve seen so far. Also, his startled expression when Zhuang Jie first kissed him was adorable.

Exactly! JCY even commented not long ago that they never stop telling each other everything. More out of character writing to further the writers unnecessary tropes.
