Wasted episodes is the right term. Writers spent time on unnecessary support characters, misunderstandings and angst that they failed to follow the actual novel. By ep 28, we had a similar discussion and thought the writer will run out of time.
Like we guessed the writers rush and push to somehow compete this drama as they are in last episodes before even they realised it. What could have been one of the good dramas gone down this way.
In WeTv this drama is 8th spot in hot dramas of the week. Even bad dramas like once we get married and a female student in imperial college managed to go ahead of this drama. That shows how worse it went.

Personally to me, the drama lost all hopes. I am still hoping that the writers will at least give something for the number of fans who supported and went through all just for OTP.
I would prefer LQ divorcing her and take citizenship to the neighbour country and conquer all battles with a another happy family to show what she and her kingdom missed … 😂. Imagine the climax of season 2, a battle between father and son 😜. I know my imaginations are weird …. So cut me some slack lol.

That’s logical. Then we have hardcore fans who doesn’t care what is there as long as their actor / actress name is written there. Surprisingly this one tested even that group with the amount of unnecessary misunderstandings and angst it brought in.
Recently “Once we got married” gone down the same way with lot of criticism and writers were clueless. But they resurrected the drama by a lot of skinship and couple moments in last four / five episodes to appease the fans and got back on track. Let’s hope writers here also have some trick in their sleeve for the last two episodes ( at least ).

Eventually it is shown as she acts like the child is aborted. I only fast forwarded, so not sure exactly. Nevertheless, the hate they are showing is laughable anyways. Every character throwing tantrums here and there while the bad characters continue scheming … surprisingly writers decided to turn our forever villain Goddess Gao into good. TBH there isn’t a single scene in the first 16 episodes which impressed me enough to go back and do a rewatch. Very average writing. I couldn’t call it bad but couldn’t call it good either 😅. I hope they will come with something more interesting this week and pay back for the time I invested on 16 episodes 👀

I could have jumped into it right away, but 38 episodes are too much time and I better wait a while to see how it goes. EDIT : Finally decided to give it a go and I am not regretting it.
