Abuse is a too harsh word I believe. He throw tantrums but he never inflict harm or exploit her weakness. FL is intelligent enough to understand if someone tries to exploit or abuse her. His tantrums were mostly about how bad her business performed and he was reasonable from his point of view. Because her business profit is not even worthy of paying the workers. When she doesn’t generate profit, how will she survive this business ?

Regarding the weakness of FL, she was very perfect in terms of character. But what she lacks is real life exposure and running a business. Though it isn’t a trait required in relationship, they go well together since he tallies everything she lacks. Except throwing tantrums he got several positives like pampering her back home with food, love and affection. And also manages her business with creative ideas which she and her team lack.

To explain that only we go through a flashback of ML meeting with FL dad. Even then ML would act like a jerk who concerned about money but her dad is experienced enough to see through his nature. He can figure that the guy would be a good match for his daughter and would ask if he has a gf.

None stops FL from getting angry. She does get mad at him a few times and he handles it. For instance the nuisance he create at her work place by damaging artefacts, in return he goes to the art owner and gets on his knees to apologise and make up for it.

Similarly regarding the Prince. He is never a perfect prince. Many didn’t push for an apology because he makes up for the mistakes he did by investing and supporting further in her business. His deeds are never evil minded although from a third person perspective it does appear evil since third person doesn’t know that the threat was an act performed by his workers. Even FL figures out it all on the second day when she gets into a discussion with goons and they ends up comparing the art to food dishes. So eventually she realised ML wasn’t evil. In a later part, ML would brag that he is a goon with tattoo and FL retaliate saying that I had seen your body ( in first episode ) and I can see that it was a removable tattoo you used for the act.

The point is whenever FL understood ML, they moved on together. But when FL got upset and went mad ML does apologise and try to make up for mistakes.

We think alike. Even if that doesn’t lead them into couple, it would have resolved misunderstandings between them. Now it appears like they are growing distant for no reason.

Regarding the anger part, everyone gets angry once in a while. If only the whole world is full of lord Buddha kind of saints we won’t have any issues. But every human is imperfect in unique ways. They express and emote their feelings different ways. That is why relationship is about understanding each other emotions / characters and grow to adjust and accept each other. This drama is not about a perfect male lead.

You can see even by the end episode he will be mad and won’t call her for a week because she cancelled their picnic and went on a business trip instead. That’s ML flawed nature which FL accepted and learnt to deal with. For her his pros outweighed his immaturity and thus she falls in love with him for his sincerity and being there for her in all times.

Yes, that sleep with him part was mistranslated. The context is that you can join hands with Jang TaeJin or go with Jang Tae Jin and he will pay for you. That should be inferred as she can resume her relationship with JTJ to pay ML his amount.

Regarding the whore part : it was already clarified that the translation went wrong, the dialogue was something like you can go into his arms and he will pay your 2 million.

On top of that you picked a word out of context and exaggerates by adding vulgar meaning to it. The context is that she comes to apologise for Jang Tae Jin who was her ex as if she is on JTJ side. That’s what he called insulting. She further questioned her suspicions and then he would respond that if you give me 2 millions I will never interfere. However Jang Tae Jin was brought in the argument because she appeared like sided with him.

The kiss scene followed because she slapped him on hearing him asking her to go in other person’s arms, that proves / clarifies him that she wasn’t in support of Jang Tae Jin but the apology was just a casual one to make sure ML feels better. Thus the misunderstanding resolves and he ends up kissing her out of emotional burst of that moment. Such kisses do happen in relations and you may ask people who are married. Most of their togetherness comes by the end of a bad day involving huge fight.

PS : I will have to rewatch the episode if I have to write in-depth analysis like you do. Because I completed three more dramas after that and my memory is colluded lol.

I am not sure why the love sequence isn’t lauded so much. It had a story, soul and the leads literally lived those characters to bring us one of the all time best love sequence. While HTCCC romance is getting lauded, I find that romance is not even close to what they achieved in Youth of May.

I might give the last couple of episodes a chance if it is a happy ending. Otherwise it will stay dropped forever. Regarding the middle episodes, reading recaps is more than enough. Don’t really have time or energy to waste on this.

I couldn’t read the very large argument. The point is he isn’t biased that she is a female. Even if the target is a male he would have pulled some trick. Because for him all that matters is money at that point of time. Yes, he is immature to chase a person who just lost his / her family. I am calling immature because he only pretended to be threatening her. All the man he brought are from the hotel and not exactly goons. On top of that every time he had an argument it is all empty threats. He literally screams but do no bad things. Instead he give in to offer help although he come back screaming for the bad performance of her business. Because he is a business man who only know how to deal with money, profit and business. On the other hand FL is clear headed and well mannered although she isn’t a genius or master mind who could profit from her business.

That’s exactly the drama is about. How these two different characters fall in love and grow to accept each other. If you notice carefully FL does warn him several times and keep him at bay for his indecent behaviour. However she isn’t avoiding him as a whole because he isn’t a threat or evil in her opinion. Instead she believed he can be of help despite the nuisance he create around.

PS : not adding spoiler tag because I haven’t described any scenes but the core of the story.

“Youth of May” drama has one of the best love sequence of all time. The couple will make you smile, cry and root for them to be together as if they are our dearest friends. I do have to warn that the ending is tough and it is for heavy hearts.

Highly recommended.

One episode per week is really tiresome. Literally 2 and half months to complete one drama.
Not sure how people will be interested to watch this on air when the wait time is huge.

That too she never approach ML when she is in trouble. She mostly run to SML every time she is in trouble. Even by the end when she was going abroad for studies, she felt ML will be disruptive if he send her off but she spends 2 days around the city with SML. She doesn’t mind SML sneaking into their privacy… many times we will see him sneak in their family time be it at FL native house or ML house. So much of frustrations and irritation.

He is almost the same except the last few episodes. Even worse, FL never drew lines between them and leaned onto SML more many times. Literally forced me to Quit !!! There is no content, no common sense, no good writing… people who expect something reasonable can’t manage to watch this tbh.

Do watch Once we get married with least expectations. Especially if you don’t like Second leads domination. Except the last three or four episodes, most of the other episodes are dominated by Second leads. Even FL won’t draw lines between her and SML , end up leaning on his support more than ML. Might irritate a little.

Why do I like SFL 😅 Her character is innocent and funny ! Yes, too childish but very sincere and pursuing ML without any cunningness, scheming or hidden agenda. She is open and Frank about her thoughts. I can see SML will be the lucky guy.

Trying to act as nerdy is fine !! But there are so many better ways to present that on screen. Other good actors had pulled off the nerdy, innocent and hesitant actions much much much better than him and made them a huge success.

Well, it is indeed a difficult task for me to understand someone who is insane. Let’s see some of your arguments

FYI, this place is not a video streaming platform but a forum to discuss each other opinions about drama. So certainly everyone will come, including the people who got tired of the stupidity and dropped. At least now you agreed that you consider this as the intense writing you had witnessed so far. Well said about growing distant. The fact is that they had lost feelings for each other and the relationship was hanging only because they were together for years … So basically she lost love and broke up because she is no more feel connected.

Not sure why people forget that relationship is about feelings for each other and not a business deal to calculate years and mistakes.

Fair enough. Not getting anywhere more than 1 or 2 from me considering they had a successful novel on hand and still they ruined it. But I marked 6 since mostly people tend to rate 6 or 7 when they don’t like.
