Soft stupid silly dudes being guys

This was so soft and comforting. No big drama, nothing too frustrating. Just a sweet little thang.

Acting:

It’s a college rom-com about a bunch of pals who are dudes being guys who like their pals who are dudes being guys, so the story doesn’t necessarily ask for too much complexity in the acting. I think everyone did a good job in their roles here, though. For sure without a doubt my favorite Pond and Phuwin series and lowkey can say the same for the Aou and Boom dynamic here. Everyone was lovable and annoying but like it was endearing enough for them to get away with their antics. Solid portrayal of college pals and their young love.

Writing:

Smooth sailing type storyline all around, which I usually don’t like, but I think it worked well because there was always so much going on. If this were a one-couple/one-character focused series, I don’t think it would have worked without a serious conflict. Love a love story starting with a meet-ugly, too. I think the characters were all unique which was also an important part in making this series work. The “wait, is this love” and “playing hard to get” tropes get a bit old, but it didn’t piss me off too much because they shifted focus in the plot often enough for me not to dwell on the frustrating bits. Nothing really stood out as ultra dumb in the plot, it was all just very soft and fun.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

My top Pond and Phuwin series, I think. They worked better here than in other series, in my opinion. The whole meet-ugly to mutual bullying to wait why do we not hate this to oh no we like this a lot to situationship to lovers worked quite well for them. Aou and Boom worked really well here, too idk why they just did. Like Aou was so annoying but also so endearing and it fit Boom’s character and they portrayed it well together. Not my favorite Winny and Satang on-screen couple, I liked their story, I just don’t think it fits them as well as MSP. This was a cute little rom-com; it worked well. The kissing hmm… Sometimes, maybe, the actors perhaps came off as a bit not entirely relaxed and comfortable with the kissing. Not Aou or Boom or Pond, but maybe everyone else a bit. I don’t want to nitpick or be ridiculous, it’s just hard not to notice, ya know. Like relax, lil guy, I promise it’s gonna be okay lmao.

Music/SFX:

Obligatory corny rom-com music, no surprises there. Obligatory goofy GMMtv rom-com SFX as well, no surprises there. The random cat meow will always confuse me, but whatever, not a big deal.

This was just fun all around. I really enjoyed it, especially after having seen the mess that was My Stand-In recently.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- Phuwin with the little water fountain top pony so precious
- Pond always gotta be sporty
- Art prodigy Winny<3
- Smitten Satang, my love
- Aou, the chaotic boyfailure
- Pretty accurate representation of the walk back from a bar in college
- Mom wanted you to study medicine but you chose fine arts oof… THAT must have been a rough dinner
- How you gonna leave my boy like that
- An apology?? Check the sky for pigs, bro
- The “wait, is this love?” trope will kill me one day
- Ya’ll have both initiated and reciprocated kisses with each other lmao what are we doing
- Situationship type shit
- This was so soft I forgot to write anything else oops

Missing a KEY ingredient

I enjoy a good toxic romance as much as the next guy, okay. I’ve enjoyed many a comparable story to this one. The issue I have with this particular toxic romance is that, in order for a toxic romance with a happy ending for the toxic pairing to be good, you need at least 1 of 4 things:

(1) a redeemable quality in the bad guy to make you like him despite everything
(2) a good backstory and redemption arc
(3) both characters are toxic
(4) bad guy has god-level visuals and/or an undeniable aura

This show had NONE of those. So, in my opinion, this was not a successful toxic romance story.

Acting:

Great job all around. Can’t deny that everyone did a good job portraying their characters. Poom and Up were fantastic. I think the casting was good for the most part However, I think they could have gone a different direction. Like, I wouldn’t say the casting for Ming was as good as the casting for Vegas, ya know? His acting was great, but he didn’t have like some sort of mannerism, or a natural swagger, or some sort of physical quality that forced me against my will to root for him despite his actions like other villains or toxic love interests do. It could have been anything. An expression of some sort, just anything to get me to root for him even a little bit. But, alas. None to be found here. Supporting cast was good, they weren’t really in it much, though.

Writing:

Listen… I like the basic concept with the whole stand-in who is a stand-in thing. But good god did they ruin it.
Oookay. So I already mentioned my main issue with this story. But DAMN it really is a serious issue. You NEED to make me root for the bad guy at least a little. At least give me context as to why tf they are the way they are so I can attempt to empathize. Like, I love a flawed character but a flaw is a bruise on an apple and there is a story behind that bruise. Sure, you can have a rotten apple character. But if you want that rotten apple to have a happy ending, you gotta do something to either make me understand the apple, like the apple, and/or desire the apple. NOW Joe… obviously he’s a loveable and pitiable lil guy. I do not for the life of me see what he saw in Ming. I can’t wrap my head around it. No shot that a man with a face like his was NEVER propositioned by someone before Ming in that truck, but he acted like he’s never been desired before, and that led him to somehow fall deeply in love within a matter of days. Idk, man… Nothing made sense with that guy. No real redemption arc here and no repercussions. Even the weird plot change to making Mr Papa Big Money the bad guy for a hot sec was executed so poorly. Idk, this was just a waste of a decent concept.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

I felt like there was chemistry in the beginning of the story, but I couldn’t really feel it for the rest. Like, they had better chemistry when Ming viewed Joe as Tong’s replacement. This was not a well-executed romance. The kissing was fine.

NC Scenes:

Pretty solid stuff with the direction they went with them. I think the decision to write and shoot them as more raw and impulsive shots rather than making them artsy and intimate fits the story well. Actors really went for it. I love a vocal bottom situation, bro delivered.

Music/SFX:

I honestly didn’t really pay attention to the music in this, so it was fine ig. SFX were solid.

I just… Like… Idk… I just wish they gave me a reason to give a shit.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- Boy is beautiful
- Lmao not the two top trouble
- Ming is losing points at every turn here
- Run for the HILLS from that man, Joe
- The fact that Ming is endgame is INSANE I actually hate everything about him he needs at least one single redeeming quality but there is NONE to be seen
- The only positive thing you’re getting in this situation is dicked down and that does not suffice
- “And who said I was someone to you” to the person whose affections you accepted and MOVED IN WITH is INSANE
- THIS IS A MING HATE ACCOUNT
- “In this life, you won’t be able to find a better boyfriend than me”?????? I’d rather date Joo fucking Jaekyung, bro.
- I CANNOT BELIEVE that they expect me to watch these two end up together later
- AND he’s gonna sabotage his career to help Tong because he’s jealous?????
- Bro is a BLACK flag
- The description and tags on this show did NOT prepare me for any of this lmao
- This BEGS for a revenge plot
- Put this man in a psych ward OH MY GOD
- No because we’re not just gonna say “I’m sad I missed you so much” and have things be better
- Okay so Ming wants him to be the stand-in for his stand-in, who’s a stand-in. He’s to be the stand-in stand-in’s stand-in… So he’s a stand-in who was a stand-in and is gonna be a stand-in for the stand-in who was a stand-in… Joe the stand-in, who is now Joe the stand-in, will be a stand-in for Joe the stand-in who was a stand-in… Just making sure
- Lies of P(Joe)
- “No, no, no. I spent like 7 years obsessed with Tong just because I liked him for his back in a movie promo, which was actually YOUR back and that’s totally normal person behavior and I think we should just like be happy together now” LOCK HIM UP LOCK HIM UP LOCK HIM UP LOCK HIM UP
- Bro cooked 2 meals, drove him to work once, then used his mother to get brownie points so far. Current redemption score: -1
- Ming fucking him face-to-face is not nearly as impactful a plot point as I’m sure they intended
- Umm.. Wait.. Hold on… I think I must be mistaken… THAT was the redemption arc??? Final redemption score: -0.5
- GASP “You traded your privacy for little old me??? Wow, what a dreamboat” and NO ONE CLAPPED
- *Put one foot in front of the other, and soon you’ll be walking out the dooooor* JUST DO IT
- This last episode is trying so hard to like patch things up but I could not give less of a fuck at this point
- Wow, everyone changed their minds real quick here for a happy ending
- Tong gets off scot-free with a happy ending too??? What the fuck is this story
- This joyous dinner feels like a fever dream… Am I high??? What the fuck
- Wut: If you take this job we’re no longer brothers
Also Wut: You’re back with Ming? Live your life, brother.
???????????
- “I’m going back to Korea because I know he’ll make you happy” ???????? BASED ON WHAT
- No.

Soft lil thang

A decent little fluffy watch.

Acting:

Keen was so lovable as Moo, what a love. Also, he’s not a bad crier, I think he did pretty well with the whole show. Sea on the other hand… He played a good tsundere, but other than that it was a bit rough. Love to see my girl Milk. The supporting cast did alright in their roles, nothing really noteworthy there. Also, a Book smile a day keeps the pain at bay. And a Force cameo is always a welcome sight.

Writing:

It was a pretty darn good story. I think they did a good job with the whole thing. Not a very intense drama by any means. But it was an interesting story and they executed it well. The big conflict was timed well and they did a good job at dragging it out as well.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

It’s hard to gauge whether they had good chemistry or if Keen was just able to captivate me with his loving glances. I just didn’t get enough complex emotions from Sea. This story works as a romance, for sure. The kissing was not it, though. Sea was kissing like a teenager playing spin the bottle for the first time or something lmao. Very clumsy, but I guess it fits a character who has never dated before?

Music/SFX:

Catchy tunes all around here. Solid work with the music. SFX were alright. The cat meow SFX was… a choice.

This was a sweet little watch. I enjoyed it.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- I mean, you should for sure at least have a high school diploma
- MIIILLLKK<3
- Let baby do art
- BOOOOOOOOOOOK AAHHHHH EEEEEEE
- Kang being a bitch
- Cool boy superstar idol Louis ayyee
- Poor Tae
- Why is bro sleeping on the couch lmao give your dude a cuddle or two
- *But I see her in the back of my mind all the time. Like a fever, like I’m burning alive, like a sign. Did I cross the line?*
- If you can’t separate a celebrity's professional life from their personal life, you need some serious therapy and/or you’re a literal teenager who should have their access to social media limited
- Shone lost 5000 points with that attempt to take his beloved little cousin’s ex like that
- Don’t worry, there’s something out there. Some… Force or something that will push you in the right direction to love
- Gg to all
- THERE’S MY BOY BEHIND THAT CAMERA

Not NEARLY as bad as I had been prepared for

Ya’ll had my expectations underground going into this, but it wasn’t bad.

Acting:

Pretty solid, we love a Force and a Book. They did their thing here. Not their best performances, but I still think they did a good job with the characters they were given to portray. There were a couple of scenes where I didn’t get as much from Book as I would have liked, though. The supporting cast was pretty good, all around. We ADORE a Jimmy moment. What a guy, 10/10 character and actor.

Writing:

So… I don’t like harem situations, but even I didn’t hate how they did it here. It was done pretty well, keeping you just frustrated enough to keep you on edge while offering plenty of interaction between the main couple to keep the frustration at bay, while also keeping you frustrated about the main couple. The whole mystery plot was truly horrendous, but I saw a spoiler on who it was before starting the show, so watching it was more funny and embarrassing than anything. The last couple of episodes definitely felt like a different show, but I still enjoyed them. The final conflict needed to be dragged out muuuch longer, though. I needed yearning, I needed longing, I needed “are you somewhere out there looking at the same moon” to make me enjoy the reunion. It was a fun little mindless watch in my opinion. Nothing big to say, but still entertaining as a story.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

These boyysss of course they can play childhood friends they lived it. Love them forever and always. Childhood friends to lovers is a tried and true trope, so at its core, this works well as a romance. Now… there was a whole lot more than just that trope here so I can’t say everything worked great. But overall, it was an alrigh romance. The kissing was cute and loving, nothing was off. Thumbs up to the boys.

Music/SFX:

Music was good. I liked the song they wrote for it too. SFX were fine, didn’t notice anything off.

I’m glad I didn’t listen to all those super negative reviews and watched this for myself.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- I’ve heard nothing but TERRIBLE things, let’s get into it lmao
- BOOK MY LOVE
- Moms and grandmas everywhere hate to see a Thai drama coming fr
- FORCE MY LOVE
- Marriage, 2 cats, 1 dog, house by the water, condo in the city, talk of adoption
- My film student heart goes out to my film student
- Ugh, here comes the harem. I hate a harem frfr but here we gooo
- I’m already mad for no reason
- Everybody wants a piece of that Theo
- Phupha got some audacity to him I don’t like it
- I was spoiled on who it is so now I’m just more mad lmao
- This is gonna be an hours-long lesson in frustration when bro could have just told Akk he’s interested in him
- I would’ve run far away after this guy told me he knew everything about me but okay
- Akk and fam so cute
- I hate it here
- I’m pissed knowing who Enchante is shit is dumb don’t piss me off, little Theo
- JIIIMMYYYYYYYY THE LOVE OF MY LIFE THE LIGHT IN MY DARKEST DAYS
- All these boys embarrassing themselves left and right
- EEE was that REAL?? Did they KISS???
- So art boy knows the capital T TRUTH and he’s just enjoying the show here
- Sorry, bro. Didn’t mean for our lips to touch when we munched on that bread together. On a completely different note, what are we?
- NOT THE SAUSAGE POCKY GAME RIGHT AFTER THE BREAD INCIDENT
- It WASN’T a dream EEEEEE
- What if we held hands in the cooler teehee
- Playing your divorced parents’ their wedding video is WILD
- Sun 100000/10 best boy around
- I needed a longer period of separation shown before the reunion
- Is this the proposal that leads to the vice versa wedding cameo teehee

Not what I expected, but still pretty darn enjoyable

I definitely expected more mystery than politics, but I do love a political edge to a story.

Acting:

I mean, come on. This cast is great all around. First and Khaotung can do no wrong. They were fantastic in their roles here. The supporting cast was great, too. I LIVE for a good actor who can cry well, and there sure were a lot of good tears here. Bravo on the casting and performances.

Writing:

Honestly, not as bad as I saw some people saying. I went into this series without seeing any promotional stuff, though. I enjoyed the politics in the school and the concept of essentially being brainwashed to not question the system. The whole power-dynamics situation was fun to analyze and whatnot. I think they definitely could have done better with the protester storyline. The focus on school uniforms was a bit wild. And there just weren’t enough students overall in that school, which was very odd. I love a good internal struggle, though they did get a little too preachy at the end there with the way they wrote the “coming out is hard” lines. I think they could have done that a bit more naturally. It certainly wasn’t like a slam dunk all the way through. I didn’t love that they were able to just change the school lickity split at the end. That didn’t really make sense. I think they could have told this story better, for sure. That being said, I did enjoy it.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

These dudes got that chemistry in spades, my guy. I love them. The dynamics between the characters were so fun and First and Khaotung did a great job with portraying them. This was an alright romance, obviously not the focus of this show, but the romance part of the plot was well done. The kissing, bro. Shit was tender as hell. Good work out there, boys.

Music/SFX:

Music was fine, didn’t really notice it enough to say if it was good or bad. Same for the SFX.

It was an interesting watch. I enjoyed it, overall, while recognizing they could have done things a bit better with the writing and production.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- Okay we got oppression and suppression, we got a curse, there’s a solar eclipse, and that’s all in the first 2 minutes
- Intro is a vibe
- The thigh grab eeeeee the “catch me if you can” eeeeeeeeee
- Did you do that because you want to, or were you told to? “I’m willing to, nobody made me.” ahh yes, the lack of awareness of your place within a system and the oppression/suppression/exploitation you face within it. A sheep, separated from their species-being, trapped within the false consciousness it was molded to have. Or whatever…
- “You punch me once, I kiss you once,” love it
- *Smiles and cold stares, the temperature goes there. Indigenous disposition, feel like we belong here. I know the walls, they can listen, I wish they could talk back. The hurt becomes repetition, the love almost lost that*
- Of COURSE bro is reading 1984, typical
- “Historical ideals cannot be summed into a single concept.” TELL EM and ESPECIALLY so when applying them to a modern context
- Shortstop and Big Foot 10/10
- Asking about Locke when you’re trying to argue in favor of Hobbes is CRAZY work, girl
- It would indeed be nice to disappear
- Everyone throwing around that f-slur pretty liberally, huh
- This fucking loser out here committing crimes for the oppressive school regime
- Bros in a cult
- Bro became a part of a group and held on to that to the point of the destruction of his individuality as a human
- Be gay do crime but like, not like that
- *Tell me what you know about them night terrors every night. Five AM cold sweats, waking up to the sky. Tell me what you know about dreams, dreams. Tell me what you know about night terrors, nothin'. You don't really care about the trials of tomorrow. Rather lay awake in the bed full of sorrow*
- *Now, hold me tight. Tell me I'm the only one. And then I might never be the lonely one. So hold (Hold), me tight (Me tight) tonight (Tonight), tonight (Tonight). It's you, you, you, you*
- “You’re enlightened now, don’t forget. Do what you need to do” ooooooh
- End Khaotung’s tears and suffering - Difficulty: impossible
- That stolen morning kiss has my HEART
- I am BLUSHING
- AYE the boy you areeeee<3
- Evil teach has a tragic gay backstory, I see
- Why would he hug that witch of a woman????
- And we’re all of a sudden able to change the system? Okay okay, let me accept that
- Happy boys being happy yay

Like a hug from a fluffy teddy bear

This was very cute and calming to watch, which I can appreciate. Laughing at that 18+ warning at the beginning, though.

Acting:

Solid performances all around. I’ve only every seen Park and Big in photos and videos from formal events so seeing them be nerdy and puppy-like was a bit wild at first. They did a great job with their roles. The supporting cast was all great as well. Well done.

Writing:

This was a fluffy little story without too much going on, but I think it was written well. The pacing was solid throughout. I think they could have had a better ending, but the ending fit as is. Loved the back and forth in the beginning and I think it was dragged out just enough so that it didn’t get frustrating. Very cute stuff all around here.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

They had great chemistry with each other. They worked well together through every emotion their characters were going through. This was a cute little romance. We love a puppy boy x shy guy situation. The kissing was very well executed, love to see it.

Music/SFX:

Music was fine. SFX were fine as well.

If I need a comfort watch, I’ll probably circle back to this show in the future.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- A Jeff Satur ad before each episode? Please and thank you very muchhh
- I’ve only ever seen Park red carpet ready, it’s wild seeing him as a little nerd
- That is not a suitable tank for that turtle
- Green flags everywhere
- Bro is more than introverted
- These dudes are assholes, let a bitch talk to their turtle
- The little windchime and the way God comes when it chimes is so precious
- Everybody boo Jane BOOOO
- Baby needs some therapy and anxiety meds fr
- I feel like the devil on his shoulder is more of an angel sometimes
- Is that… COMMUNICATION??? A rare sight to behold
- Mom needs to chill tf out
- Not the ‘how to have sex carefully in a tent’ article lmao
- AHHH he saw that’s so embarrassing rip
- Congrats on the sex, ya’ll
- Baby asked for no lies but then he lies by omission rude
- Baby needs to communicate like why are we doing this
- Not the sexual safety interrogation from bestie
- Mom needs some serious therapy
- Lmao @ that 18+ rating
- Cuteee so softtt

Beware of petty chefs

A cute little watch. It was pretty fun.

Acting:

Pretty solid all around. Casting was good. Sailub was a fantastic chef and Pon was a little rascal dumbass fr. Nothing was really outstanding but there wasn’t anything bad. Overall, good performances for the story.

Writing:

I liked the cooking competition storyline; it was fun. I think the pacing made sense for the plot. I don’t understand the immediate move to engagement, but okay. I also don’t understand how quickly bro left that new restaurant, either. It felt a little bit rushed towards the end, but not atrociously so. I just think this may have worked better as a 10 rather than 8 episode series, but it’s still pretty good as is.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

There was pretty good chemistry between these two dudes. I was a bit surprised because of the whole goofball x cold dude thing. This was a pretty good romance story, nothing revolutionary, but still enjoyable. The kissing in this was superb. Truly perfect, good work out there boys.

NC Scene:

Lowkey took me by surprise because there hadn’t been one earlier in the show. Solid work. Sailub got that finesse, that sensuality, that passion. I like that. Pon was a bit weak in that regard, though. But he plays a good tease/infatuated person.

Music/SFX:

Music was good, nothing really stood out as amazing or bad. The SFX were solid, both the real cooking ones and the goofy drama ones.

This was a cute little watch, I enjoyed it.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:
- Boyfailure
- Broke boyfailure
- Dumb broke boyfailure
- A desperate man fr
- Bro is the fifth Beatle
- Yes, cheeeeffff
- This is gonna have some major emotional breakdowns due to betrayal, guilt, and longing
- Everybody is fishy fr I don’t trust any one of these dudes
- Awe chef is already feeling a bit of jealousy, I see
- Uh oh they went and did it
- Chef is gonna be so hurt waahhh
- Spectacles is gonna be an issue soon
- Damn, chef seductive
- Shit is sensual
- Those words are filled with some serious vitriol
- Spectacles a little bitch for that
- Bro broke Spectacles
- You could’ve explained right away and shown him the texts then left him to stew on it
- Everyone is so petty in these parts
- Ya’ll have been back together for all of like 2 weeks, relaaxxx with the engagement

Solid hit, but no KO

This was a solid story all around, but nothing really blew me away.

Acting:

Solid performances all around. Nothing to complain about. I love a good crier and Great delivered me that for sure. Inn was good as Dr Wandee and the supporting cast was all solid.

Writing:

Overall, this was a pretty good story. I liked the representation, though it felt a bit unnatural and they probably could have done it a little better. No 3rd act breakup which was nice, but they technically weren’t together till like the last 30 minutes of the damn show so. I feel like it went between being a mature show to an immature show often. Like at times it was aan adult show and other times it felt like a YA story. I wish they stayed a bit more consistent with the realism in that regard. Nothing blew me away with the writing, but it was a solid story.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

The chemistry was pretty solid as well. They worked well together and I could definitely feel the attraction and growing love. This was a pretty good romance. Frustrating though it was for them to take so long to get there, I still enjoyed it. The kissing was good throughout.

Music/SFX:

Music was fine. They forgot to add in the punching SFX when Yak hit Ter for the second time at the ball which was funny. Other than that, it was solid.

This was a cute little watch, nothing too heavy which is a nice change of pace.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- Damnm okay, visuals in that ring
- Oh we got attitude coming in from all directions
- Throw a guy a pity fuck or two, won’t ya
- Congrats on the sex, ya’ll
- Ter got that audacity
- Super cool granny alert
- Not the “saving my kisses for love” trope
- Love the inadvertent roleplay lmao
- Already giving jewelry okay, ya’ll
- 69 on wooden floors is a choice
- Chances of transitioning from FWB to committed romantic relationship status are actually closer to 15% rather than 27% according to recent studies
- We’re not serious, but he gave me his necklace. We’re not serious, but we only sleep with each other. We’re not serious, but he’s met my grandma. We’re not serious, but I took him to my parents’ graves.
- Grandma is Yak’s idol lmao cute
- Two whole days with Ter sounds like hell
- Bro needs to get a cooties shot
- Yaks a dumbass
- So they aren’t together yet? But like… The kiss? The I’m yours statement?
- Taem’s entire character changed real quick there
- So they STILL aren’t together yet?
- Therapy x Yei when?
- We love to see Lookwa
- Boy, get in that damn ring already
- Oh god, not the serenade lmao
- Just go train in a gym in America for a bit every once in a while

My Vice Versa was missing vice versa

I would have ADvised the screenwriting team to ADd a bit more to this ADaptaion.

Acting:

The acting was pretty solid, nothing super noteworthy, though. Nothing was horrendous either. I don’t think there was any real issue with the acting, the issues were elsewhere. Solid performances for what they were given.

Writing:

This could have been a grand story about two couples from parallel universes finding themselves and each other through obstacles and changes within their surroundings and within themselves. But instead we got this. It was an alright story as is, it just could have been amazing if they hadn’t made the decisions that they made. Having two couples would have made the conflicts faced by the characters feel more significant because you would have to wait to see what happened next while the focus shifted to the other world. I think the whole Tess didn’t grow thing was so dumb. Why introduce their backstory in their universe if you’re going to do absolutely nothing with it? I’m not gonna spend too much time talking about the ads because obviously I skipped them, but they were quite atrocious. This was okay at best, but it could have been so much more. Cameos were fun, but would have been more fun if the story was better.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

Chemistry was solid. Jimmy and Sea work well together. This was a good romance, it just could have been a great romance and that’s disappointing. The kissing was fine, nothing crazy. I always hate the constant kiss dogde trope, though. It gets old real fast.

Music/SFX:

Music was alright. I liked the OST but the corny drama songs needed to be toned down a bit. SFX were fine.

Overall, I’m disappointed but I still enjoyed it for what it was.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- JIMMY so fresh so cool
- Yay Sea the boyfailure teehee
- OHMMM
- ForceBook just married grooms 10/10
- NANOOOOON
- Milk and Love EEEEEEE
- GUUNNNN
- I wish they had decided to switch between worlds/couples. I feel like it would have expanded the story and made the moments of conflict seem more important because it would be spaced out even if it was a brief conflict
- There really do be full-on ads in this lmao whatever the skip button is readily available
- I hope my Ohm and Nanon are doing well out there
- PEEERRRRTHHHH
- No Face cameo on that popcorn bucket 10/10
- MIIIIIXXXX MY LOOVEEE
- *Things are looking up, oh finally*
- Of course bro is asleep before he can hear the name because drama logic
- Nooo I want more interaction between the other world charatersss
- Why is Tess such a butt all the time
- This really should have been a 2 couple series, it would’ve been stronger
- Bro ruined his life fr
- Second chances are coming pretty easy to this guy
- *You would find me at the beach in every life, through every door*
- AWEE the FOLDER
- *Love over money every single day. Rather smoke with you than get paid*

I want, I want, I want, I want to break freeeeeee

This was such a good watch! I can’t believe I have been putting this show off for so long. It was fantastic!

Acting:

The casting was so good in this show, everyone was right for their role. It’s my first time seeing most of these actors’ performances and I was very impressed throughout. Est is so beautiful and boy can cry pretty which I LIVE for. William was such a good misunderstood sad boy frontman. The supporting cast was all amazing. Honestly, couldn’t ask for much more.

Writing:

This was far more realistic than I had expected. They didn’t go the “we can beat to odds through it all together” route in the way I expected. Like, there were no outrageous grand gestures that turned the story into a DRAMA drama, ya know. It was surprisingly refreshing because I usually prefer the over-the-top, unrealistic drama bs. But I liked that they stuck to reality more. This was well written from start to finish. I only wish there were more.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

The chemistry was lovely between these two. I was giggling and frowning with them accordingly. I loved this as a romance. The idol x crew member is always fun and I like that they didn’t focus the story on that dynamic like many other stories do. The kissing was perfect, they did such a good job with it. Love a good smooch or three.

Music/SFX:

Music was pretty solid. I liked all the songs that MARS performed, but I didn’t love the other corny love songs they picked for important moments as much. SFX were solid, nothing to really note there.

This was sooooo fun to watch. I’m so glad I got around to seeing it!

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- Bro is beautiful
- LEGOOOOOO
- Drake looks so cuuute
- Give baby the sandwichhhh
- Oh my GOD they are CUTE
- Bros for life frrrrr
- An angsty little guy, this Dylan
- Thame such a gem, my looove
- 9.5-hour phone call from dusk till dawn EEEEEEEEEEEEEE
- I’m giggling this is PRECIOUS
- Our ultra-capable little maknae
- THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN
- So Thame is a dumbass
- I knew something had to be up with Serrano
- Can we voice our feelings already, boy
- AHHHHHHH they are so cuuuuuuuutttttttteeee
- Jun would get a swift kick if he were my friend
- Bro thinks he’s smooth
- LEAVE HIM ALONE JESUS CHRIST WHAT IS YOUR DAMAGE
- AHHHHHH JUST SAY IT I’M GONNA SNAP
- AHHHH THEY SUCK
- There’s gonna be a wild misunderstanding here lmao
- Nahh cause I would spiral 100% if someone did that to me on our first evening together
- Oh the domesticity of it all
- Fern pissing me off. You are a grown ass adult, act like one
- Sad boy hours fr
- *But everything means nothing if I ain't got you, you, you*
- Est is such a good and pretty crier
- That concert was lowkey kinda fire tho
- Yay happy boys and girls all around

Love is a battlefield, fr

Do I love and adore dubcon? Not really. Do I pray for an infidelity trope? Absolutely not. But I love good story and this was a pretty damn good story.

Acting:

WOW. Everyone was absolutely amazing in this. Everything just felt so real. It was a pretty raw story that called for some seriously deep emotions and everyone delivered on that tenfold. I was blown away in general. No flaws to be found here in the acting. Just BRAVO.

Writing:

This was painfully real. Like, damn. With the exception of the over-the-top drama trope inclusions like the dubcon intro, the crash, and the attempted mugging, of course. The basic concept to this plot was just so well put together. I’m so surprised I ended up loving this. I honestly expected to hate everyone and call it a day, but this was very well written and executed. There were a couple little things besides the obvious drama tropes that were a bit iffy, but overall I really enjoyed this as a story.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

The chemistry between these two dudes is SO GOOOD. They are amazing, 10/10. This was a surprisingly fantastic romance story. I don’t typically love a realistic fiction type romance (I love a wild tale) but this was very satisfying. The kissing was superb through and through. Loved it, they are fantastic at portraying love and desperation through kissing. BRAVO.

Music/SFX:

Some serious corny drama music in here. Not my favorite, but I can’t complain too much as it is a drama after all. SFX were good throughout.

I’m so happy I ended up giving this series a chance. It did not disappoint whatsoever.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- Ya’ll, I’m STRESSED about that #1 infidelity tag going into this, don’t piss me off
- So dub con from 2 minutes in, huh
- My poor baby just tryna get him the man of his dreams awwee
- *I'll be drunk again to feel a little love*
- This is TOXIC TOXIC

- NEIGHBORRRRRRSSS????????????
- This is MESSY MESSY
- We really dove right in no pretext, huh
- I already hate it here
- Don’t piss me off
- AHHHHHHHHHH MESSYY TOXIICCC
- Emotional staring contest
- *And I know that he knows I’m unfaithful and it kills him inside to know that I am happy with some other guy*
- *Hey jealousyyyy*
- *Johnny's daddy was takin' him fishin'. when he was eight years old*
- They are so cute, but this is SO MESSYY
- That is pretty tough pill to swallow but you also cheated so like…
- Baby is passive-aggressive posting lmao
- He’s not gonna do it, he’s a coward
- JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJUST BREAK UP YA’LL ARE A MESS
- Boy is a MESS
- Keep. Your. Word.
- COWARD, YOU ARE A COWARD
- *Baby really hurt me, crying in the taxi. He don't wanna know me. Says he made the big mistake of dancing in my storm. Says it was poison*
- Actions speak louder than words, brother
- Obligatory guitar serenade
- Manipulative little shit saying I love you like that
- BRO YOU GOTTA BERAK THINGS OFF OFFICIALLY WITH GIRLY
- I’ve got a bad feeling about this
- CALL BABY RIGHT NOW OR SO HELP ME
- CLEAR THIS UP
- CLEAR IT UP
- GO
- JUST SAY WHAT HAPPENED. WHY ARE WE NOT BLURTING OUT THE TRUTH SO DUMB
- Just. Explain. What. Happened.
- Okay, you got me, there are tears
- Alright, fine. You’re getting a playlist
- Ahh yes, a car crash. Classic.
- Someone literally anyone tell Mark what happened or I’m gonna snap
- That hurt me and Vee fr
- Wait, no… This hurts jesus christ
- I’M GONNA FUCKING LOSE IT TELL HIM OH MY GOD
- I get it, I drove a ‘98 little green Rav 4 in high school and college with a rusted frame that only passed inspection because I knew the auto shop owner personally
- Who is this tall dark and disgusting
- Ya’ll are NOT in the same weight class tho so…
- Bros gonna get Ko’d so quick
- Again, not the same weight class … Like not even close
- Bro thinks he’s Mignon
- How does one fuck up Som Tum tho lmao
- Mark the minxxx
- Lucky you didn't show up 15-30 minutes later, you would’ve gotten quite the show
- Bro is an engineering student, not an aspiring philosopher. Like, relax, he’ll do fine. Also, they both got into the same engineering program
- This went from a drama to a DRAMA real quick lmao
- This better be 30 minutes of fluff for this last episode
- Just tell him you have a job that isn’t odd
- A RIIIING YESSSSSS
- Not the after credits roleplay lmaooo

You can’t spell pissing me off without Pi

WHELP. That was a show, for sure. No denying that.

Acting:

It was alright given the absolutely horrid roles and story that was provided. For their roles, their acting was solid, can’t really complain too much about that aspect. They were clearly asked to be a bit odd for the most part and they delivered on that.

Writing:

Okay… It was fine at the beginning, nothing revolutionary, but still a decent start. Then it just went from like 75 to 0 so quickly and never got back up to speed. That was ROUGH. Everyone in this show pissed me off except Nan. Pi was a middle schooler, Mork was a flat character with little to no backbone and his decision making skills were trash, the brother was entirely unlikeable, Meen was boring, etc. I don’t see how I was supposed to root for anyone in this show. If anything, I was rooting for Mork to fall for someone else and Nan to find the love of his life. The script was rough overall too. I feel like I was fighting against this becoming a hate watch by episode 8, because I wanted it to be better. Honestly, why did we make the main character have the same ability to deal with their emotions as a 13 year old with self-esteem issues. And this was based on an edited and published piece of literature???

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

They had a little chemistry, as much as you could get with a story like this I guess. The real issue is that this is a HORRIBLY executed romance overall. The kissing was fine, nothing really to note about it.

Music/SFX:

Music was good, nothing stood out as odd. SFX were mostly fine.

I am so very disappointed in this. I wanted it to be good, I really did. I like the actors a lot and the concept well enough, but WOW this was a rough watch.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- Mix, my beloved
- I get it. If Mix smiled at me I would instantly fall in love as well
- This calls for a MAKEOVERRRR
- Cyberbullying people you know in college in the year 2021 is so wild and cringe like what
- You printed out his fb profile pic and put it above your bed??? Bruh
- Satang so cuuuuuute
- Istg if they keep interrupting the main plot with this fuckass brother’s story I’m gonna snap
- Ahhhh the secondhand embarrassment is getting to meeee
- Bro is delusional, seek help
- This little stalker creep
- If someone’s reaction to my confession was “I don’t think you actually do” I would probably spiral real hard
- Nan such a good guy
- I can’t stress enough how much I don’t care about the brother’s story
- “I can be your vaccine” is so goofy, what are we doing lmao
- Why is everyone so creepy and nosy
- What in the world, these are some real saesangs
- I wish we had some background on Mork, his character is pretty flat
- Pi is getting on my last nerve here
- Does he have a kind heart, though…? He’s childish and selfish in every possible way
- Enter female character A whose only purpose is to cause MC to be jealous
- Everyone pissing me off rn
- Girly is more annoying than Pi somehow
- This jealousy plotline is so absolutely annoying and dumb
- This went off the rails real quick, huh
- Nan always in the middle of things
- Pi seems like he’d be a really shitty boyfriend, though
- I don’t see how all of that made you fall for him
- I’m team let Pi be lonely and get Mork a fitting partner at this point
- We love a ridiculous group dance moment
- Ugh a probational love contract
- They both pissing me off
- This dropped off a couple episodes in and never recovered
- Let’s switch this up to Mork x Nan, I’m done with this Pi character
- Not the brothers in love with each other’s brother trope
- Bro has the emotional maturity of a 13 year old and the general maturity of a 16 year old
- Both brothers suck
- Not only did he not reach out and say happy birthday, but he’s also being a dick
- Can’t spell piece of shit without Pi
- Mork the masochist ig
- Mork needs a backbone fr
- ABSOLUTELY hate this fanclub situation especially being at the birthday party
- Why isn’t Nan a this party? I miss his face
- What is this bullying plot…? Why isn’t Mork doing anything…? Why are these people at the party…?
- Obviously Mork didn’t post that shit why are we being dumb
- This is a middle school plot 100%
- Now girly is the villain this is DUMB
- This is the plan…?
- So many birds and fish were killed in the making of this
- Nan go get your star bb
- Oooh a time skip
- *ka-ka-karma's a bitch*
- 2 years together and they still act like this

If I were a pick, I'd always choose you

This was very cute. I’m a sucker for a fake dating story and having a music trope and college setting just adds to the love.

Acting:

Everyone did a damn good job with their roles in this. I even got a couple good crier moments with Win shedding some tears, which I love. I was pleasantly surprised by the performances in this. The casting was superb for these roles. Bright and Win were absolutely perfect for Tine and Wat. The supporting cast was solid all the way through as well.

Writing:

I love a fake dating situation and add in that Wat was a pining fool for over a year prior is the cherry on top. I think it was pretty darn good up until that 3rd act breakup which I hated. It left no time for me to see a lovey-dovey happy ending. I want more than one time skip scene. But like, I get it, that’s kind of par for the course. I really enjoyed the show regardless, and the script was solid throughout. Didn’t love the use of female characters solely to make the mcs jealous, but it is a tropey bl, so like, not surprising. Don’t love all the misunderstandings and miscommunications, but at the same time it wasn’t absolutely horrendous the entire time and I’ve seen couples who are worse at communicating in my friend group so…

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

They had some damn good chemistry. They worked well in every stage of the relationship and it was lovely to watch. This was a very cute romance. The kissing was a but too light for a college romance in my opinion. I expect a little more, especially after they made up like why are we only high fiving.

Music/SFX:

Music was great. I actually loved that they didn’t use overly-produced recordings in the singing scenes, it made it feel real and raw which I haven’t really seen in a drama yet. SFX were good.

Now, for some highlights from my notes:

- Ahh yes a boyfailure
- Bro is dreamy
- Bi panic too real
- This is so cute what
- Bro is DREAMY
- Bro has Nirvana which is obv but also a 2013 Pierce the Veil, Mayday Parade You and me at Six & All Tim Low concert poster????? My man
- This little soon-to-be-awakened bi boy needs to chill
- Oh no baby is hurting stop hurting baby
- That’s so many photos baby down bad fr
- Boy denser than osmium
- *I'm just drunk again. I'll be drunk again. I'll be drunk again. To feel a little love*
- *Don't tell me what I wanna hear. Afraid of never knowning fear. Experience anything you need. I'll keep fighting jealousy. Until it's fucking gone*
- *Tell me why I see you in. Everything, everywhere all the timе. You follow me like a shadow
From you, therе's nowhere that I can hide. Life here without you's so shallow. And I wanna call you, but I don't. Ever wanna be the reason for tears that you cry. Everything, everywhere all the time. Wish I could forget you, but I won't. You’re everything, everywhere*
- Alright, fine. This show gets a playlist too I can’t help myself teehee
- Bro got me giggling
- His friends kinda suck
- *Suburban living with a feeling that I'm giving up everything for yoooooou*
- I hate it here
- Cuteeeee
- Why are we lyyyingggggg boy don’t piss me offfff
- Daaamn boys, moving a little fast, aren’t we
- PRECIOUSSS
- CUUUTE the PICK so CUUUTE
- Still 3 episodes left tho… Don’t put me through too much now
- *Not talk it out, now talk it out*
- Or not…
- Honey, sweetheart, can we take some deep breaths and think this through before we do something we regret
- Yeahh.. You really could’ve avoided all of this if you had explained things about Pam to your boyfriend, recommended a guitar teacher to her, and addressed everything properly when you say issues arising. This is almost entirely on you, Mr Dreamy
- Just talk it out after you chill for a minute, don’t give me this 3rd act breakup bs
- Bro, you walked in on a public hug, relax. The song thing is something to talk about, not flip your lid over. Jesus.
- Okay RELAX there, little man with the Bags by Clairo vibes
- Fucking 3rd act breakups always leave like 2 minutes of joy at the end

I was so naive... so unprepared...

I went into this having only seen the poster of them getting married, so my naive, optimistic self popped a bottle of champagne and pressed play with a smile plastered on my face... Then I uncontrolably sobbed for SIX HOURS STRAIGHT

Not a review, I can't handle that right now. Just a venting session:

WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK. WHERE IS THE REST. WHERE IS MY DIET DR MOTHER FUCKING KELP. I NEED IT. NOW.

I was NOT prepared. NOBODY prepared me. I feel slighted. I am inconsolable.

Even though I know my boy is okay, I AM NOT. That was painful. Even if I knew the drama logic of him definitely not being gone, I still felt it. I STILL FEEL IT.

Ya'll really had me thinking I was gonna get a lovery dovey wedding... YA'LL REALLY HAD ME YOU GOT ME ARE YOU HAPPY NOW????? DO YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELVES???? IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED????

Don’t touch me.

Shit was good, though. Not sure how to feel anymore.

Reaching a state of emptiness as I write this.

Do not contact me.

Leave me to my sorrows.

Update:

A good night's sleep did not help as much as I would have hoped. The silly little rom-com I'm watching is not helping as much as I would have hoped. GIVE ME THE REST OF THE STORY.

Went off the rails a bit there

It’s like the crispy onion spicy salmon roll I get from Hannafords. Is it the best sushi? No. Do I still eat it? Of course, I love crispy onions and salmon…

Acting:

Cute and silly, but not like great. Probably in part due to the writing, directing, and a touch of Book not being the best crier. I fear I need more pain in his expressions sometimes and the ability to get teary-eyed. Force was pretty solid, but the story didn’t really ask for much from him tbh.

Writing:

I genuinely can’t believe that this is based on a book that someone planned, wrote, and published. It has that thrown-together drama script vibe to it rather than something based on an edited piece of published literature. It started off good but then she went off the rails a bit. I wish they did more with the whole streamer situation instead of whatever the heck they decided to go with here. They threw a lot of different things into this soup and it made it hard to distinguish what it was exactly. They needed to focus in on a central issue instead of having so many because they did not hace the time to get into everything enough to do the plot points justice.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

Force and Book obv have chemistry. They are very sweet very cute. But like, okay. So I don’t know if it’s the writing or directing or the actor’s boundaries or what. But, they lack a like intimacy which is odd because they have this crazy chemistry that alludes to a crazy amount of intimacy. Idk if that makes sense..? Like I don't care whether things get explicit or not, like whatever, that isn’t what I mean. But just, something is missing and I’m not sure how to put it into words. A kiss on the neck or stomach and then a look into each other’s eyes, maybe? Like just a hint of intimacy between two lovers in their twenties. This was an okay romance, pretty standard romance plotline. The kissing was fine, nothing to write home about.

Editing:

I have to point out that there were definitely some issues with the editing of this show. Why are there seconds-long black screens between scenes where it doesn’t fit the vibe/mood of the story. Why are we cutting together sentences at random points where it doesn’t make sense. Did they not get the shot they wanted? Did the script change after they shot the scene? I don’t know, man. It was just a bit too thrown together.

Music/SFX:

Typical corny drama romcom stuff. SFX were fine.

Meh
