@oyaji haha, the way you were so sure of it makes me doubt my memories as well. gonna go check. But otherwise his actions wouldn't make sense. To me at least. lol

@TurkishRose yeah, exactly, I'm fascinated by all this stuff. There are several books written taken these things into account (not like, theory, but novels) where they explore these ideas. I'll take a look at that book for sure.
I agree, Yoo Jung's actions are questionable, that's why we get so many different opinions, and the opinions depend on the viewers views on all that (liberty and rules and punishment and such).
And yeaah, he confronted Sangchul but nothing really came from it. Sangchul really is a pain in the b***, to be honest. He never learns. I mean, in my eyes, he's kinda worse than Yoo Jung. He's totally trying to slide on everybody else's work and then blame everybody else besides himself on his misery and shortcomings. He doesn't even realise that nor think about the outcome of his actions, whereas we see that Yoo Jung does think and he does know where his actions lead to (most of the time). Which, yes!

@oyaji nah, I read the webtoon as well and I'm pretty sure that he used Yoo Jung's credit cards. That's why the bf was also like: whaat the card was Yoo Jung's blabla.. Do you think it would have been moral if he had just let this whole thing pass or split the money with him (if he had stolen it from the school etc)? Would it have made any difference? I don't think the public's opinion would differ much from the view they have now.

plus, theft is also a crime people go to jail for. did it make it right that he stole the money to help out his bf? No. But he still did it. Why are we not judging the TA for that and only Jung for using that information against him laters.
This is why this show rocks :D

Yeah, I get what you mean as well. I was just making my point about how I see this. The thing is, I think the drama didn't show it explicitly that it was actually Yoo Jung's wallet where the TA stole from - so we got a problem here.(you mentioned splitting the money) Like, Yoo Jung is used to letting stuff go (if you watch ep 9 flashback with the pen, for example) but then he needed something to be done and he knew where to get it. In the end, wasn't the 'punishment' lighter for the TA for stealing the money or not? And the way Yoo Jung acts really comes down to human nature and psychology, in my opinion anyways. I'm enjoying this dicussion, not saying that I'm right and you're wrong :D (just to make sure)

I am being totally serious with this. Philosophers have discussed this whole issue in the past as well, I mean .. Immanuel Kant e.g. Look, I'm not trying to say that what he did was a good thing or anything. Just that viewpoints are different and who has the right to say what is the right thing to do? I could ask the same thing - why should I not use other people's weaknesses for my gains? People live like that.. you know. I'm not saying I do that. Just for the sake of the argument.

@oyaji yeaaah. right. So, actually the TA was stealing his money and you know, you could see it as a deal. What I meant with my statement was exactly this - you see situations from your perspective, I see it from mine. Who says whose is the right one?
I wasn't talking about Yoo Jung per se, just humans in general..

@TurkishRose yeaaah. exactly. There's no right answer to that. And that's why I'm not trying to figure out what Yoo Jung has to be like and how he has to act etc.. I'm just enjoying the ride, you know.
With that said, I like it how people get real heated about this issue and try to figure out stuff. It must mean that this is an important aspect of their lives as well and they do think about human interactions in a deeper way. I mean, yay for the society? :D And it's only positive when people realise the circularity thing you've just described..
Yay, I've watched eps 7 and 8! First of all, so glad we finally get to see the moment Yoo Jung started liking…
@TurkishRose OMG; YES! I wasn't the only one? :D I totally got what Yoo Jung meant by that line and get him. You know. Because, if you look at the bigger picture - this is what his world looks like. You can't create a new past and experiences for him or whatever.. And why is that bad that everybody is not perfect? that everybody has flaws. It's not bad, it's human. Nothing we can do about it..

nah. he just needs to be accepted :D like everybody else on that show :D lol. The thing is - I've always wondered about that - why do people want to 'cure' everything and everybody. Like, why do they think their way is the right way?

YES YES YES! And this is why I love this webtoon/drama - it's all about those interactions and reactions etc. like.. what happens if you put such and such characters into one space contiuum. right? :D And I love it how nobody is perfect here.

" My point is do we and Seol just learn to accept that fact and embrace Jung as he is and not pretend that he is a perfect fragile flower in need of sunlight to change his way. "
YES
