On See You in My 19th Life Jul 24, 2023
A nice, lovely drama but nothing spectacular. It lacked substance and I didn't feel attached to the characters. The cinematography was fine though. I don't know. It was boring in places and I was thinking why it was necessary even to make the drama. This is just my experience, and I don't regret watching. A solid 7/10.

They are really milking this series even tho it's not even that great.
From the beginning, it was written as a multiple seasons drama. That's very obvious if you watched it. Do not forget that the writers are the same as in Six Flying Dragons and Tree With Deep Roots, which are connected to one another although came out with the later period first (aka in the wrong order). That the Korean audience did not understand the greatness to be expected is a let down, but then again it was competing with a weekend drama. Those are always popular even when they are as poor as The Real Has Come.

There are elite Saudis "who come to Las Vegas and have fun and do this and do that." Wahhabis don't strongly expose…
only the kind of people who are zealots and like to threaten other people and would become real life terrorists if they weren't mere keyboard warriors chose to be impacted. We have all learned a lot about Saudi Arabia due to this incident, which I think is a basically good thing.

As an American New Yorker who was married to a Muslim Moroccan for ten years I can personally verify what you'd…
well said. it's also sad that the keyboard warriors derive a sense of dignity only from identifying with an authoritarian king and religious zealots. It seems they have no self value if they don't try to lend it from absolutist ideas, which have no relation to reality.

As Karl Marx said, Religion is the opium of the masses. Some people are so high on religion that they forget to…
I think it's good to see it here where terrorism comes from. These people are very violent. Deriving a sense of pride, justification and feeling of strenght from waging a religious war. These people are so weak in reality they lend a feeling of strength from a king. whose rightful place is in jail. These people are the underdogs and religious warfare is the only thing that can make them feel superior.

It's good to be able to make a difference between reality and representation and not get worked up about comedy. Every country is misrepresented if you're looking for it, especially neigboring countries have since always made fun of each other. But in this case there's no misrepresentation, elite in Arab countries drink and misbehave. There's a lot to learn from this about the lack of democracy, women's rights and human rights in Saudi Arabia. Nobody should condone the double standards, the way the elite men can do whatever they wish, and the way women can't have anything of their own and will be disciplined cruelly. No one can touch the ruling elite, not even the western leaders because of the money and power will always lead to severe human rights issues being disregarded.

The fact that it's the prince we're talking about is why it's offensive. Did anyone talk bad about late Queen…
People deriving pride from royalty are delusional. In any country. No blood is more blue than any other blood. My country is steadfastly democratic, that's at least something to be proud of.

Yes but maybe this is the one drama made for not feeling worried, I mean, how exceptional would that be...I've been waiting for a non-stressful drama experience my whole life and seems that they read my thoughts!

Loved the reference to Wok of Love in ep. 10. KTL is a wonderful drama made purely for making me smile and have a great time. I'm just grateful for it. Thanks JTCB, Junho, Yoona and the whole crew.
