I've seen the French original, hence I know how it ends, which leaves no interest to watch. I gave it a try, it's been too long since JDY's last drama. He's very good again, in this. But this isn't really anything very special. Typical murder investigation drama. I'm sure it will be watchable for those who have not seen the original. But if you'd happen be looking for something of higher quality, more touching and more original, most of the Chinese Light On series crime dramas are eons better, imo.
Really a hidden gem. High quality throughout. This turned out to be so much more than a whodunnit murder investigation. The twists and turns are awesome. Sad but beautiful. I cried during the last 4 episodes. Not because it was depressing, but because of how genuinely good hearted people can turn around the fate of abused and neglected children. There's redemption in the end. Highly recommend. The OST of the year (hope they publish it).
Another fascinating quality Light On drama. Reminds me a bit of Interlaced Scenes which I liked a lot. Does anyone know what is the song that plays during end credits? It's so unusual!
I didn't expect this to be so good, it really took me by surprise by its depth and charm. I got gradually more invested as this proceeded. I especially liked Zhai Xiao Wen's acting in this, he had a thousand different expressions. Can't wait to see what he does next.
The Golden Triangle of youth and family dramas for me so far: Northward, Wind Direction, Always Home. Emotionally intelligent, warm and meaningful, totally worth my time. I particularly like it when the whole family and relationships between families are as important in the drama as the youthful romancing. Although the closeness between Chen Huan Er and Jing Xi Chi here is so much more than a simply a romance, this kind of closeness was unexpected and something I have not seen before.
Someone wants to be the judge and jury on what is allowed to be said in this page. I absolutely detest this kind of user warfare. And it's once again breeding over a drama that isn't even trying to be anything very novel or ambitious.
I just wish people would take it as a learning experience that not everyone has the same taste, the same background, the same history of watching, or even the same goals for watching.
Just pls take the "keep things kind and civil" at heart and try to make this MDL worth engaging with.
My stomach turns when I see most comments are of the "attack blindly and without any respect whatsoever" type. Everyone is allowed their own opinion.
Pls write your own opinion in your own line instead of attacking people you disagree with.
Its okay if you didn't have a good experience with those previous dramas because I didn't either but stop judging…
I said those were way better adult romance dramas. There's no need to watch the current offerings only if looking for a good adult romance drama.
I take care to pick dramas that are meaningful and worth watching. I have watched enough dramas to see the ingredients from the first 20 mins. If I watched dramas that my gut says I will end up dissatisfied with, I'd never have time to watch the actually good dramas.
I like it when I see comments coming from people who have the same background and taste from me.
But mostly we get people like you who just want to engage in user warfare over the most ridiculous and least ambitious dramas.
THIS IS NOT A FANSITE BUT A COMMENTING AND CRITICISM SITE.

EVERYBODY HAS AN OPINION AND THE RIGHT TO SAY IT. I will block you tomorrow. Spewing insults is your way of communicating and I particularly do not care to see it.
I just wish you'd actually read what I said before attacking. What are the stakes for you that you must take up your arms to fight for something that is just another non-ambitious project for filling in the time slots and attracting the 15-25 year old fluff consumers.
Cringefest. Can't really watch. I feel bad for Lee El. She was awesome in Mr. Plankton. She was awesome in When the Devil Calls Your Name, and Matrimonial Chaos. These dramas are so much funnier and better written adult romances. Genuinely good and funny. As for this. It's weird to watch an adult romance comedy with such elementary teen-agerish writing. Don't know how to say it better. I would bitterly regret the wasted hours if I kept watching until the end (already experienced that with Miss Night and Day, and Doctor Cha).

Wanted to watch to support Yoo Ah In.

Propable drop during 2nd episode.
