Why the melodrama tag? There will be the schoolteacher turning into a psycho stalker with his revenge and that's the melodrama aspect. Also the father going crazy about ML's decisions is forthcoming, obviously also some melo in that direction to be expected. I'm not fond of melodrama, in any shape or form, I guess I'd better wait and see the comments after this has ended.

From the first ep it looks like a repeat of the heavy handed formula from the director's previous work:1. FL and…
You're nailing this indeed. What made Something in the Rain so good was Jung Hae In and his awesome acting, in retrospect. The chemistry really carried that one. I already didn't like One Spring Night at all, it was too much of the same. One Spring Night had a melo psycho in the form of the FL's ex, and this one will have the same from the disgraced teacher.

Lmao I knew I could get my popcorn ready to read all the disappointed comments of the people who just wanted to…
other people may have different opinions for good reasons. These comments that attack other commenters must stop, dismal to the max.

I loved the first episode. Mature content with tons of intricacies. Especially the scene of Korean teacher agreeing…
Pls try and accept the fact that other people may have different opinions for good reasons. These comments that attack other commenters must stop.

A very funny and absurd film. There are layers to interpret for those who want to. The director did a fantastic work with the actors. The acting is amazing. This is first and foremost the kind of film where actors even in small roles really have the chance to shine. The film they were making turned from a psychological thriller into a fullblown trash makjang with psycho characters chasing mindless revenge. That was comedic therapy for me after the frustrations from watching Marry My Husband, My Happy Ending and Hide that turned exactly that way. If I had to name one drama this might be mocking with the end scene it would be The Glory. 9/10

this is kind of okay but too predictable. The plot is very similar to Wonderful Nightmare and Welcome 2 Life. 6.5/10

There's absolutely no need to attack people who express negative opinions about the drama. Pls try and learn to respect everyone's right to express their views. Just state your own appreciation / opinion without attacking others. That makes this site more comfortable and yes less negative for everyone. This is a commenting and discussion site and not a fansite.

Why? What happened there?
The MCs were filming a dating show. It was as if the drama itself was the dating show and not a drama.

This better not go the route of Love Is for Suckers. 👀🔪💩
I was thinking the same. All the signs are in the air that it will be similar.

I have to disagree about the Daesang. His role is not outstanding like the other ones in this year competition.…
It would be so much better if the award period was clearly limited to a calendar year. I agree that dramas that are airing during the nomination period should not be nominated.

what a mess. the plot was advancing slowly until ep 7, then it all became disjointed. I guess they chose to cut out a lot of scenes explaining the BF main story and prime minister's character and motivation. And what about the priest and mind control. They kept just the action scenes, Disney -style. Which became boring without any knowledge about the reasons behind the violent attacks. The amount of loose strands after the last episode is record high in this one. I don't think there'll be another season, bc with Death's Game it was clear from the beginning that it was divided into 2 parts. 9/10 in the beginning, 7/10 in the end.

It was surprising that Lee Ha Nee won the award when her acting in Knight Flower was not outstanding. Ahn Un Jin…
Yes, she was very good but it wasn't a heavy role to carry, unlike those 2 others. I'd add the actress Shin Eun Soo who played the mute girl in Twinkling Watermelon as more deserving of the award.

I think otherwise. For example if Kim Soo Hyun would have got Best actor than yeah you could have said is about…
I don't think he portrayed the best acting but somehow that just got to be the strong public opinion and they couldn't go against it. His mannerisms in the first half of My Dearest were really too much. Every time he had to say a line, he started with opening his fan and waving it. That kind of acting that is too obvious and not very sincere is offputting to me, no matter what. Really great acting is Jang Dong Yoon in Flowers in the Sand. He's fully embodied Baek Du, not portraying Baek Du.

My awards (am not fazed by the money or popularity)
Daesang: Kim Soo Hyun
Best drama: 2023 Miraculous Brothers (2024: Like Flowers in the Sand)
Best script: Miraculous Brothers
Best actress: Ra Mi Ran (Good Bad Mother), or: Suzy (Doona), or: Kim Tae Ri (Revenant)
Best actor: Yoon Kye Sang (Day of Kidnapping)
Best supporting actor: Jang Dong Gun (Arthdal Chronicles: Sword of Aramun); he was MC but damn he deserves something for his phenomenal acting
Best supporting actress: Bibi (Worst of Evil)
Best new Actress: Lee Ho Jung (Song of the Bandits)
Best new actor: Bae Hyun Sung (Miraculous Brothers)

The Disney style: lost of action without any character depth is detrimental for k-drama. I'm sad that those giving awards do not appreciate the best qualities of k-dramas that made them loved by people all over the world. But Netflix and Disney money define these things now.

Congrats to all the winners. But i have to say it is one of the most unsatisfied Baeksang Awards. To many Actors/Actresses…
very true. The too obvious catering to popularity means Baeksang awards are not important or prestigious anymore.
On Wonderful Nightmare May 7, 2024
I didn't find this funny or happy at all. Not even as entertaining as a typical k-drama rom com episode. FL was inconsiderate and just messed things up. This is similar to Welcome 2 Life drama, plotwise, but W2TL is so much better and warmer. 6/10

Title Swing Kids
A really worthwhile movie to watch. The dance scenes are fantastic, the historical context is weighty. This is not overly sad or depressing despite the context of war, the film does not strive at stark realism bud blends surrealism, fantasy and comedy into this very unique mix. It's not even strictly sticking to the music or dancing styles of the portrayed historical era. Acting is top notch. Didn't ever expect to see Oh Jung Se as a dancing star, he must have always had these skils, wow. D.O. is fantastic as always. 9.5/10
On Welcome 2 Life May 5, 2024
I almost dropped this at ep 5, but it gets better on the second half when it deals with one central case and not individual cases. The humour is quite good. I like detective team dramas, this is a nice one (though not anything spectacularly good). 7.5/10.
