watching the recent eps of zhuyu & i can already tell that they are already speeding through important arcs & plot points sighhh 😞 (this is no shade to zhuyu whatsoever i still looove the drama)
i know asking for a faithful novel adaptation is almost impossible now these days especially w censorships & the 40 ep limit but i hope that w gui luan, the screenwriters will handle the pacing better bcs iirc we had at least 5-6 (?) major arcs in the novel so even if we don't get a completely faithful adaptation, i hope they won't sacrifice key plots just to rush everything

the way wen yu and xiao li's relationship is mostly defined by their separations like literally throughout the whole novel they're almost always apart. that's why the yearning in this novel is INSANE (oh i could talk about it for hours) we're talking about astronomical levels of yearning here especially from xiao li 😩 i feel like that yearning is one of the most important aspects of their relationship so i wonder how are they gonna translate it on screen
already on ch 112 of the novel and i'm lowkey scared how are they gonna give justice to the story 😭 so much game of thrones level of political intrigue like this novel deserves a joy of life level of production and quality 💔💔💔💔
