I never said that anything less colorful is annoying. I basically said that less color is not equal to realism. Which is something that many film and drama makes nowadays don't get. They're afraid of color and that's what is annoying to me. You are the one who gave pachinko as an example. I loved pachinko's color grading and cinematography, since it suited its theme, but this drama is not similar to pachinko(except the similar timeline i guess) and there is no need to compare them.

This drama is not meant to be 'realistic' , so if you didn't like it go watch something else. Also i love that it's colorful and the color grading is fine to me. It doesn't look cheap. Not everything needs to be colorless to look realistic. Honestly, it's annoying. Especially since this drama is pretty lively with musical theatre as a theme. You can use less color grading in more heavy dramas(pachinko is of them).

This was more an answer for the last question. I don't think they really wanted to remove Buyeong's character or the gl part of the webtoon, but because the drama is a big project they couldn't really take much risks bc south korea is very conservative and that would be a huge step for a beginning(+there are also not many all women cast big dramas). I'm happy that at least they still included queer elements and i hope they increase

The thing with Youngseo is that she's too focused on being perfect that she can't really enjoy her performance and this in some ways can reflect on the viewers. We also can sometimes sense that from actors, performers etc. I'm also not sure why Okgyeong acted that way but maybe they'll show later

Okgyeongs character is more like a mentor to Jeongnyeon. And Jeongnyeon's character is supposed to be a teenager so they also have a kinda big age gap...

That's what i expected too but in the reuters i saw a scene where he's choking her(which never happened in the novel) and him generally agressive. I'm pretty sure they also removed the rebirth/reincarnation trope of the fl because of chinese regulations and everything i saw from the drama are kinda different from the novel so i'm curious about how they wrote their characters

I think those things have to do with the writers not directors. Directors can change a few things based on the scene but can't get too involved in the script. I remember that she was the one who made Deokim's parting with her friends more emotional and impactful, since in the script it was only one sentence without any detail

From what i know among her dramas only the demon hunters romance received a license prior to her scandal tho
