to those who've read the novel that this is adapted from: is this a sad ending or a happy ending? because i just saw a tiktok that said the novel had a sad ending and so this might also.... i'm so nervous... might have to wait until this finishes to decide whether to watch or not.
i started watching this because someone on tt said this was similar to another bl manhwa i was reading but looks like it doesn't get better based off these comments and the rating π
not criticism but the first two eps literally had every kdrama cliche stuffed into it. #cheatingboyfriend #gettingkickedoutofhomeduetorentalscam #mlwithsadbackstory #pretendpartner #cohabitation (probably - i havent gone that far into ep2 yet) #nicefamilymemberinthefamilywhocausedthesadeventintheml'sbackstory (this is just my prediction) etc.
Honestly it started out interesting and i was rlly hooked. Like this cdrama was definitely better than i expected. But when the ending came around i felt very underwhelmed.
Like imo xiaobao and you fangyin's deaths just felt like the writers were thinking "hmm we should make some of the good people die too instead of only bad ppl dying" like halfway into the drama and just killed them off.
And the romance part of the drama, at least between the two leads, was only like 5 eps long you could barely feel it developing throughout the drama.
Otherwise it was interesting, but underwhelming at the end.
EP 9, SHE IS SO DIABOLICAL. LIKE IDK IF ITS THE TL GIVEN OR WHAT SHE ACTUALLY SAID BUT EITHER WAY THE MEANING IS THE SAME RIGHT??? "I guess knowing how to lose makes you that way" AND THEN DIRECTLY FOLLOWING THAT UP W, 'So can you give up on him now?? I want my second chance'
like she did say she was selfish, she's self-aware on that front at least, but DAMN THAT'S CRAZY and i get that she had her circumstances (and we're forgetting about the cheating thing rn, cos that was like kind of heard in passing and not confirmed by any character)
lja is better than me bcos i wouldve just blown up on her then and there
I am wondering if will have a S2 because I saw information S2 broadcast ahead of S1 premiereοΌ
i mean there has to be, it was heavily insinuated with that cliffhanger in the last ep. unless the whole show gets cancelled or smth, i think we will definitely get a s2.
i revisited the og kdrama cos this remake was making impatient and I needed smth to fill the hole and now that I've watched ep 4 - I get all the criticism as to how they're going to condense a 40 episode drama into 10 episodes. like, I don't know whether it's because I don't watch a lot of jdramas or not but I feel like by condensing it into just 10 episodes, they lost a lot of opportunities to build chem between the leads and build the characters. don't get me wrong; I'm not saying their chem is bad or their acting is bad, but something's just missing.
to put it simply, this drama just gets to the point. nothing more, nothing less. if that makes sense?
