It looked very genuine to me too but at the same time he seems to be very aware that she helped him in the past and the character description matches so can't be so sure. It's true that it's hard to guess how much he knows and what he knows about her atp. There are a lot of possibilites rn. But one thing I am sure is that if he lost his memory, his idea of their past and her is most likely not accurate too and the memories haven't returned yet but might gradually as they get closer and things unfold. In that case then, they both don't know about what exactly happened with them in the past lol. Also I think its to be noted that he probably has no idea yet that she has locked herself completely as of ep 1. I am looking forward to how he'd react to that and the reason behind that.
