Jdrama ratings on mdl aren't really that reliable honestly. A 7.5 on MDL is similar to an 8.5 or so rating for Kdramas on mdl.

There's also the fact that some international fans are not used to the "manga/anime" kind of acting used in certain adaptations so the acting is misunderstood as overacting and not an actual genre of it's own 🙈

Same with Slice of Life- if it's a slice of life drama but viewers assume it's supposed to be an epic romance just because it's about a couple, they mislabel the drama as boring or filled with "filler" scenes when Slice of Life is literally just that 🙈

ML is 23 (or at least that's what he says). The FL is probably in her early 30s since the Fiancé mentioned something about both being in their 30s/ FL's mum made a comment about it too in ep 2.

The age gap is probably 7-11 years max may be? It's not that obvious though since the FL has this "spark" about her that makes her seem more youthful.

True. I feel like he can see that Manami sincerely cares for him (which is rare in his life) so in an almost childish fashion he didn’t want to share her? Nor did he want Manami to look down on him for going all the way with a client? I guess that’s why he kept asking her if it was truly ok for her to invest her time on a “hopeless” case like him- he’s in denial but Manami truly is important to him (as someone beyond a paycheck/ romantic interest)🥹

I do love how they’ve styled the 2 too - You have Manami who looks innocent - the classic “goody two shoes”. Then there’s Kouru dressed in a devilish charming manner (even more 😈😎 than the #1 host guy) and there's Taiga who is still charming but at the same time he feels more “cozy” if you get what I mean🙈

You can see he has a strong morale code the way he kept resisting the client and even how uncomfortable he felt when he crossed paths with Manami 🥲

The fact that he didn’t even get mad at the student for lying and instead just went out of his way to cheer her up shows his true character.

I just loathe his mother. The way she keeps using him is just so 😩 The manager has no ethics. He knew just the right way to hurt Taiga by reminding him that he has no future 🥲

Urgh tell me about it! The show kept popping up on my X timeline but I was able resist it for weeks…and then NF took over. It feels weird waiting for Sunday to end to watch the latest episode as a person who cherishes her weekends off 🙈

I just loved their “non date” date at the end of ep 2🙈

They could go for a time skip where Taiga is at a better place after figuring out a proper way to overcome his issues and leave “Kouru” behind? By this point, Manami too can truly find herself as a teacher and they can then get together? She wants passion but fears it and Taiga has a lot of love to give but has been used so far after all.

TMAI- with everybody actually. I love her the drama makes it a point to show how everybody can be two-faced. From the "honourable" finace, to the teachers who pretend to be "holier than thou" but aren't above harrasing a fellow teacher in their own way, the HS student's mum's so called "unconditional" love, Kouru/ Taiga's conflict in interest, Manami's own stalker past, to even the highest paying "princess" from ep 2. The dynamic is interesting 🙈
