I wanted to try it but I keep seeing complaints about the subs/ storyline. Your comment gives me hope 🙈

If you really think about it, Hu Xiu already rejected his advances. She told Pei clearly not to drag her into his family feud.

His type usually doesn't accept "no" for an answer easily so chances are even if he was told about their relationship, he'd just find a way to mess with them 🙈

He's been living his life blindly for so long, it's almost astonishing how he could have missed the signs.

I can try to understand why Pei dislikes Yu- he's still stuck in the past. But the fact that he doesn't even accept the fact that his "just business" tactics is so underhanded is hilarious. He's capable but hasn't really grown up at all🤦‍♀️

Nah he did the right thing. It’s not his call alone to flaunt his relationship with anybody and also the danger Yu warned Pei about applies to him too in a way. The whole reason why Yu kept pushing Hu Xiu away in the last couple of episodes was because his “mission” is dangerous. Entangling her into it (or showing that she’s important to him) could put her in danger.

Besides, only an insecure person would boast about their relationship just to undermine a guy like Pei.🙃

It’s probably more or less the same thing (one sided feelings = wishful thinking), just a difference in subtitles used.

It’s mostly the fact that he’s so narcissistic that he believes he’s the victim all the time. The fact that his own childhood probably wasn’t that great doesn’t give him an excuse to play human chess just to get what he wants.

The real question now is how far will he go to win what he wants. Will he hold back when it matters or will he embrace the dark side completely like his father.

Comments can be so misleading and this is one instance.

I saw quite a lot of complaints about how the ML became “lovesick” instead of maintaining his sly dark princely persona over the last 1/3 of the drama or so…these complaints sound so incomplete since most of the comments didn’t bother to acknowledge WHY he was behaving the way he was. With context it’s quite obvious he was on the right path. Hell, if the writer didn’t change his mannerisms after the whole truth was revealed, it would have made his character extremely questionable 🙃

I do agree with the fact that the drama handles their dynamic better. I've actually almost given up on the whole Cinderella trope since there's hardly anything new but with this, you kind of tend to forget that the ML is supposed to be the "domineering CEO".

I'm in ep 17 now and the way the FL handles their "latest" situation is pretty awesome compared to recent FLs who fall under the same genre.

In this case I feel the important thing is how after a lifetime of emotional neglect, it was the FL who first showed him empathy and care despite the fact she low key hated his guts after all their NPC shenanigans? It wasn’t because she was a fan but because she genuinely cares about him, her work, and perseverance to move forward without letting her past heartbreak break her spirit?

It is a C-drama afterall . At least one parent has to throw a wrench at the MC’s relationship to complete the formula 🙈

I understand why some would root for SMLs in general (there are some who genuinely are worthy) but in LBL's case, it doesn't make sense at all. Before getting the FL, he needs to learn how to be a good sport and to let go of his old prejudice against the ML.

I mean, the SML is clearly intelligent enough so the fact that the ML's antarctic treatment towards the company and his own mother should trigger Pei's shrewd mind into wondering if there's a piece of information he is missing. Even the fact that he still mocks Yu for changing his name is so childish considering it's obviously the mum was the one who changed it as a way to protect her son🤦‍♀️

He does. They meet in front of the gaming club's entrance after a game but he rudely ignores her so she write's him off as arrogant. The next time they meet, the ML badly wants to rent a room in her lane apartment complex but nobody wants to have him as a tenant. As a last resort he finds out that the FL is renting out her attic. Since he knows that she doesn't really like him, he gets his friend to rent it for him.


(Rudely ignore during the first meet= my inteprettation was that the ML was trying to keep his NPC life away from his real life/ thought the FL might be an overzealous fan)

He recognized her from the second game onwards - he can't break character during the game so he has to llay along with whatever she throws at him :)

Not sure if you are up to date yet but we had an episode recently (think it was either 13-14), where he's mad at her in real life and uses his NPC character to jint his ire 🙈

I certainly hope so too! It's so sneaky and would explain why Yu's been so patient with everything at the moment. He's even holding back from confronting Pei's behaviour towards Hu Xiu which is something he'd normally wouldn't be so quiet about🙊

The SML is really interesting ngl. He reminds me of the SML from Love is Sweet but the only difference is that his cockyness stems from ignorance. His father has molded him quite well to suit his manipulative needs but looks like Hu Xiu will probably "reset" him 🤭

When the SML met her friend initially I kind of liked the idea of them together (they both have this aura of knowing what they want/ willing to fight for it) but now I kind of feel bad for her 🙈

Honestly after seeing so many dramas promote early marriage, it's rather refreshing how the drama low key made them a cautionary tale. The husband is way too clueless for the friend. I hope they don't drag their story for too long- it's too much of a wreck already 😅

I consider Pei as a red flag because while he seems respectful enough to women, there is lack of sincereity in his actions. He isn't above taking advantage of the mother and even the FL to hurt the ML. Once he figures out her dad's connection to the stadium accident, I guess we'll see his true colours.🙈
It does seem like he is ignorant about the truth behind the stadium accident thoughso hopefully they'll give him a proper "redemption" arc?

I really want to know if his friend packed the fox too with his belongings 🙈
