I saw a post saying that they did but they broke up. From the little I've heard about the novel, the drama sounds better. Even the SFL sounds very toxic in the novel.

That is oversimplifying things honestly. If Pei truly deserved her, he would have cared about her safety first. Even if he doesn't know the extent of his father's ruthlessness, he should have anticipated the fact that the father wouldn't stay quiet if he found out that his only son was defying his explicit orders.

Unfortunately the father cannot be handled directly. I feel like we are missing a key point from Zhi Yu's past interactions with the father. Something must have happened for him to be this secretive. I'm almost certain Pei's dad orchestrated his father's death so may be that's why he has been very cautious? He can't show all his cards just yet. That's probably why he hasn't told HX yet why he pushed her away at first.

Even Yu acknowledged that the gifts probably had sincere intensions but I think Pei could have been more subtle?

The problem is he kept lying even after he got caught. Their relationship was already dying long before he met his Junior but he didn't put in any effort at all. She even gave suggestions but he kept ignoring them. It went to a point where even the SFL started to hide things - even important things like the VR scandal from him.

It's better to end it at a good note than dragging it till things got even more complicated.

TBF even if he didn't know about the stalking, he should have expected his father to retaliate at least in typical rich Korean CEO mum fashion 😅

His father has been abusing him all his life. Was he seriously expecting his father to remain unbothered once he finds out that Pei defied his explicit order to stop chasing after XH? Yu already warned him about this too after all.

Honestly I thought his reasoning was so obvious given how he rejected shortly after his uncle reminded him that his mission was dangerous in one of the earlier episodes but I still keep seeing this same question being asked so many times 😅😅🤣

It's a form of misdirection. If the father is spying at him again, then the fact that he didn't make a fuss over the date would imply that he isn't serious about HX, effectively reducing her value for blackmail or whatever neffarious plan the father is planning to do.

Saying yes to the mum doesn't really mean that he will go through with the date. He can reject Luna directly. It actually is a better plan than asking his unreliable mother to do it for him.

Even if he doesn't mention HX's name, he knows the consequences of involving the Peis.

Yu is mad at Zhen because Zhen didn't listen to him when Yu warned him to keep HX out of his father's radar for her own safety. Instead he kept flounting his crush in front of his mother, kept sending expensive gifts to her in public, and made it obvious so anybody can see that Zhen liked her.

Zhen's father's behaviour isn't something new- he already knows that his father can be ruthless and abusive. The fact that he was persuiting HX after his father explicitly told him to stop would obviously have consequences. So yeah it is Zhen's fault for poking the bear. He can't claim ignorance with this matter since he didn't even try to be cautious.

Yu is a strategist. Meeting the new girl is definitely not just to humour his mother/ disrespect Xiu. He's playing a dangerous game now. The fact that Xiu still doesn't know about the secret deal Yu has with the her original selection of suppliers says it all.

It's not worth crucifying him over. The only reason why he told his friend to not to tell her was so he could control the situaton as he isn't ready to reveal his plans.

That's the problem though. If they were willing to torture a random girl to that extent just because she was dating the ML, if they knew her true identity, it would have been unimaginably worse.

The objective of the original 🍇 and leak was to ruin her and kill her spirit/ promising future. Eventhough she was no longer a promising dancer and she lost a part of herself and her right to be with her family, her life was still better than the jealous woman who tried to destroy her. The FL was still dating the ML so the bedwetter's plans failed too. Knowing how deprived that group can be, things could have been beyond worse than what Ouyang Ti said at the heat of the moment.

He’ll probably reject Luna directly if things go as far as setting up a date between them. In his case this sounds more easy than talking things with his mother seeing as she is very unreliable. Telling her that he has a girlfriend at that point could complicate things.

Not telling Xiu about it will definitely blow up on his face but i kind of see his pov. Yu already told Xiu that he wanted to introduce her to his mum. Changing his word now would make her think that he isn’t serious about their relationship. It’s tough since he isn’t ready yet to talk to Xiu about his dad’s past/ his mission.🫠

Given how they never reached the hotel that night, it’s a huge possibility or at the very least “stuff” did happen? The way the camera panned and the way they’ve been super comfortable with eachother since that scene kind of confirms it though 🙊

Ep 26 has a bed icon on the calendar though so not sure what this signifies…unless this would be their next intense intimate scene after the breakup/ reunion? The viral intimate kiss clip outfit does match with Xiu’s dress from the reunion preview afterall.

Honestly I think he miiight have introduced Xiu to his mum before he caught the stalker situation. But now things are too dangerous - not just for Pei but for him too since eventhough he doesn’t know Xiu’s dad’s connection, Yu knows that Pei ‘s father is a dangerous man. It isn’t difficult to imagine him target Xiu as a way to control Yu.

Hopefully we’ll get express along with the heartbreak - at least we’ll be put out off our sorrows soon 🙈

My money is on murder. Yu’s father is gentle but from the little we know, he would have never abandoned his wife and son in such a way - specially since it seems like Yu was with him on the day he died.🥲

I feel that way too. It could be history repeating itself kind of? Pei Sr. Probably was jealous of Mr Qi’s professional success + wife.

I have to ask…does Pei Sr. see Yu’s mum as the love of his life or a trophy? Proof that he got away with everything so long ago? It’s rather disorienting to see him switch between a cold blooded soulless shark and a doting husband. Is he supposed to represent middle aged wattpad coded toxic Mafia CEO romance?🙈

Totally agree with this. We already know it was purposely done since in a previous episode, Xui ideally wouldn't have access to the glasses when she sneaked into the game via the fire exit. The setup and props are real- just that it looks less "real".

The audience gets to see the game through the VR lens POV so even if players aren't wearing the glasses, it won't have an impact.
