It's explained in ep 9 :)But if you want a detailed explanation- see below๐
In the new timeline, after Sol escaped the kidnapping in 2008, the taxi driver kidnaps her again in 2009. SJ saves her but he gets badly injured while stopping the taxi driver ๐. (This is the reason why Sol's mum mentioned that the "incident" happened 14 years ago and not 15 years ago.)
This is the reason why Sol ends up travelling back in time again to 2009 to stop the new kidnapping incident
Why are the reviews so bad? ๐ญ It breaks my heart that not everybody enjoyed watching it like I did, I know…
It's probanly because of the hype sorrounding the show. LR is attracting viewers who normally avoid this genre lately...coupled with high expectations, things just may not work for them ๐
Some thoughts bout that 15 year time lap, except for the last timeline when she did what she did for his own good. Why…
Timeline 3 ( ep 7)- Because she asked him to stay away from her because of her trauma from 2009.
Original Timeline (ep 1)/ unseen Timeline 2 (ep 4ish) - it was out of guilt as 2023 In Hyuk mentioned, Sanjae felt really bad for what happened to her and blamed himself for her paralysis.
So in all the previous timelines he had no choice but to leave Sol alone. It's just that he just couldn't let go of his feelings.
So anyway I was coaxed by an MDL pal to check this show out.I was avoiding it (apologies if I hurt the feelz of…
The director's phrasing was unfortunate if you are referring to the post that's circulating ngl- but i guess there is a translation error too so not 100% accurate.
Sol's "bright" cheerfulness is shortlived ...it's only really present till around ep 3 or so when she assumed that she only had to help Sanjae from getting depressed. But once she found out more about her past as well as what really caused his death, things shift.
We also see glimpses of her worries/ her angsty side in the initial episodes, but it's more subtle to show how determined Sol is.

Hope you enjoy it- at least try to hold on till ep 4 :)
The thing is you need to wait till ep 2 for the plot twist, then all your questions from ep 1 will get cleared :)
Basically ep 1 is solely Sol's pov since she is the protoganist.
From ep 2 onwards, we get Sanjae's pov which switches up the game.
Since the main premise is that Sol doesn't recall her accident, we learn more about it/ the hidden details along with Sol so it's abit of a journey.
Fair warning though, don't fall for the hype and have exaggerated high expectations ๐ Part of it's success was the "not knowing" but since spoilers are out now, the impact on you might not be as high as it was when it was released.

If I remember correctly there was a time stamp mentioned - 2009 (when they showed the eclipse during the opening scene) and 31st DECEMBER 2022 when they shifted from the hospital scene.
Make up - they actually do a pretty good job with the transition between the years. For instance, with the hair, 2008/2009 Sol has bangs and pretty chic teen outfits whereas 2023 Sol has a more feminine/ subtle elegant aura (in ep 1 it's abit difficult to show though since she's bundled up but in the latter time slips the difference is more obvious)
The issue is that in the hospital scene, they have to show that Sol's been stuck in the hospital for nearly 6 months since her injury so maintaining bangs and pretty teen outfits doesn't work with the scene + her depression pretty much forced her to grow up..

But then again I'm not into family melodrama so I might be bias.๐ Loved the FL though...she was the best part.
If you like timetravel dramas in general, you might enjoy this
