I am curious to see what will happen to the mum - daughter duo ngl. It’s clear the daughter will be scammed and Nie is headed for either bankruptcy or an embolism the way he keeps clutching his head 🙈 The mum has already had a slice of humble pie finally realizing she made a huge mistake shacking up with Nie. But will she cut her losses before it’s too late? Or will she go down with the ship? She seems shrewd enough to know when to stop but who knows 🙈

I felt bad for him at the elevator but he crossed a line after the way he kept blaming XG in front of the taxi. XG isn’t a mind reader to understand WHY he didn’t reply. She gave him a clear opening. He had an entire year to reply to it (she sent the message in Dec 2011). It’s his loss.

It's actually been about 1-1.5 years since she liked him. Guess that proves how shallow first love can be? I feel like even XG wouldn't have clinged onto him for so long if it wasn't for the way he treated her. His cruel behaviour even affected her initial work days/ the way she handled Lin's feelings. If ZX had been open fron the beginning or didn't constantly attack her, she would have been better of.

The guy is a joke honestly. I just love how she silenced him with one simple question. He really shpuld have texted her 🤣🙈

For instance the escalators available around where I live are generally slow enough that impatient / late (😇) users can speed walk. Sprinting the way ZX does is frowned upon of course since you can't trust how the people in the front or behind will react.

True. From the moment I saw his character, I couldn't help disliking him. Like I know a few SMLs who can be mildly irritating but still helpful but with this guy it's just one headache after another 🙈

He's a shadow. They all fall for the idea of him (even XG). But once you meet the real deal (Lin), guys like ZX just fade away (even wallpaper would be too high a compliment)🙈

If anything, only Rong likes him for a reason that makes sense. He's perfect for a social climber like her. Smart and successful but weak enough to control.

XG's dad and Lin's grandfather started the PV company via a joint venture. So Lin's grandfather has 51% holding rights and XG's has 49%.

Since both are majority shareholders and it's a joint venture, they have enough control to change the voting outcome. Since a 100% share transfer can have a significant impact on the company's future and ROI, XG's dad is using a legal way to block Lin from getting the shares.
His excuse is that if the transfer is approved, his opportunity cost would be the profit he could have earned from selling off the company to a new investor he had found as either Lin might refuse to sell or the market might lose confidence in their due to the ownership transition, which in turn will again affect their profitability and market value.

In Rong's case, it's mostly possessiveness. She might have liked him truly in the past since they've known eachother since forever. But once she realized that XG liked him, she just HAD to have him in order to one up XG in her one sided competition. He's also successful and has a promising future which works with her agenda 🤦‍♀️

In Chris's case, she barely knows him. He just comes across as a brooding, smart, quiet, handsom, and caring (what he did is the bare minimum for Kevin tho) guy? She hasn't actually seen him loose his cool yet so she's just in love with the idea of him🙈

As for some of the viewers- he's the perfect combination of "pathetic" and "i can fix him" along with a nice face. He's also pretty harmless compared to other rabid SMLs so it's like catnip for some.
