Not sure TBH since I kind of FF through the first 3 episodes.
I went through the episode where XG talks about ZX with Lin now. I made a mistake - 6 months was in the novel. In the drama it’s different. She met ZX shortly after the banquet while on her Winter break (so should be between late Jan 2011 - Feb 2011). The next scene where she drives back to the uni is a year later (March 2012 based on the time stamp on her text message). Since XG confessed to ZX somewhere shortly before December 2011, she must have moved into the dorm during the course of the year.
His reasoning for being mad is because he got into a crash on his way to see her, and she didn't even call him…
He gets better 🤠At the moment he’s restraining himself since even he can’t believe he is still willing to try again.
I must mention though, their flirting style is very corporate so be prepared for many jokes revolving around target markets and interest (amongst other econ101 terms)🙈
Watching ep 27 now and it baffles me that she is supposed to be a college graduate but still acts like a child…
Curfew - it’s an Asian thing. It doesn’t matter how old you are, the parental units (even aunts and uncles) can get a little antsy when you are in a new relationship - specially with girls at 22.
In XG’s case, they aren’t trying to control her with it though since they trust her. It’s just them playing the role expected from them (essentially the mum and aunt are teasing her while low key protecting her- the uncle is more serious.
God, I'm so stupid. I just realized the drama is set in 2013. I'm on episode 25, and the lecture scene is going…
The drama is tricky since they don’t give obvious prompts unlike with most dramas. It took me also till their Shanghai girls’ trip to finally realize the date through Lin’s car registration sticker 🙈
Ok so am I the only one disappointed about the first kiss? My expectations were up there I expected a more passionate…
It’s their first kiss ever since neither of them have been in a relationship before . It would be strange if they turn out to be kissing experts on their first try 🙈
kinda confused with the timeline. did fl meet sml because he was the cousins tutor or because dorm mates childhood…
He’s her cousin’s tutor. They spent quite sometime together because of this since before moving to the dorm, she used to live with her cousin. They met in Mid 2011 (approx 6 months after Lin saw her).
Edit : It should be between late Jan 2011 - Feb 2011 after the banquet Lin saw her since she met ZX during Winter break. 6 months is from the novel.

Honestly it's only for 3-4 episodes max since the more he interacts with her, he can't resist her charm and he also realizes that he might be missing some critical details from the events after the accident since she's nothing like the one who abandoned him.
Even his "bullying" is honestly tame compared to other dramas. Since XG is very direct, she confronts him before things escalate.
Personally I like the MC in "Shine on me" since they are actually quite mature and aren't really tropey. They don't drag misunderstandings/ nor do they fall for others lies. But at the same time, they are still gopfy in their own way 😊
I am so confused... He gets into an accident while driving to a blind date with her - BLIND date, then why is…
Basically Lin saw XG (Mr Nie's only daughter) at an event and fell for her. Coincidentally, his friend calls him a week later to set him up with a friend. When talking about the date, Lin's friend doesn't mention the girl's name but instead calls her Mr Nie's daughter. Since Lin knows that Nie has only 1 daughter, he happily accepts to go out on the date. It's important to note that during this call neither party mentioned the girl's name.
The reason why Lin is convinced that XG should recognize him is because the friend told him that Nie's daughter fell for him at first sight during the same event. So in his POV, XG should have remembered his face... It's only been 1yr 9 months approx too so even if she can't recall his face, at least his name should ring a bell if she was even remotely caring - I mean if the guy you were excited to go on a date with met with a life altering accident en route, would you forget him any time soon even if you lost contact with him?
His main gripe with her before moving to Shizou was how easily she abandoned him without an explanation. We also find out that she ditched the date without giving him prior notice. Finding out that she now no longer can even recall his very existence, truly hurt him 🙈

To add to Han's point, he was lured into the date because his friend said that she fell in love with him at first sight. Lin was already finding a way to ask her out so to hear that the girl he is smitten with is also super interested in him really raised his hopes up. To be abandoned after all that just tore him apart. He doesn't blame her for the accident itself but because of how callous she was (specially after finding out that she simply forgot about him).
After seeing how easily Cdramas can get shelved/ have scenes censored over the most ridiculous things, a little…
Haha I get what you mean. It's just that in several episodes I noticed how they kept talking down on the western tourism ("there is nothing to do in Switzerland besides skiiing "/ the food during XG's european tour was bad for instance). Isolated, the comments sound innocent enough (and pretty typical), but once they started to bombard us with China's stunning visuals, it kind of felt a little too on the nose - "The west is mediocre, visit China if you want a feast for your eyes, mind, and stomach"🙈
Since the Shizou Library also added a post coincidentally once Lin's pvt. library episode was released, it just felt like they might being having some kind of joint alliance going on (ij a positive way of course)🙈
No complains from my end though. I seriously had no idea about some of the places they showed (specially the solar panel desert farm) so it made SOM more interesting for me😊

In ep 27 they implied that Lin might join a prestigious research group with one of his former professors. But nothing is confirmed atm.

"I'm happy because my future...boss praised me" had me giggling ðŸ¤ðŸ¤ðŸ¤
