In the novel, the heir's mum was the one who orchestrated Lin's dad's exile. Not sure how they will show it in the drama since they've changed some of the character arcs (example XG's maternal side wasn't this supportive so early on into the relationship)

The drama slightly diverges from the book with some of the characters. Even with XG's maternal side, they've been supportive about her relationship with Lin even before they started dating unlike how it was portrayed in the novel. For instance after the banquet, in the novel, Lin and XG had to sneak out of the hotel and lie to her mum but here she openly told her family she has a date with him.
The MC here is practically a green forest so there is no room for any misunderstandings (except for 1 important event) and they handle conflicts pretty efficiently without dragging them/ unnecessary breakups.
There is angst but nothing melodramatic so some might find it abit slow. Personally loving the change of pace since I've seen way too many tropey romances lately 🙈
