I think it's a case of interest and attraction that manifested into fear and obsession because she left so abruptly? He was about to let go, but like you said, the tree gave him hope? It's like the last life jacket he could cling on to?

Actually HY gave the perfect explanation in ep 1- people in their circle tend to be similar - stuck in their chaebol family ways. Compared to that, Da Rim was a breath of fresh air that caught him by surprise? She was outspoken and challenging, didn't simp over his money, was kind and generous even when she was drunk as a skunk, and looks great. The kiss sealed his fate.

He wouldn't have been this intense if he got to end their trip in a positive note, but in this case he never even got a chance to find out why DR looked so worried when she ran away- his mum's past may have made him a natural worrywart too so it kind of understandable why he got fixated with his concerns for her disappearance? What do you think?

Finding out she lied to him about her single status destroyed his trust in her but seeing facets of his Jeju Da Rim during their interactions at work weakened his resolve? The fact that Da Rim always seems to be in sync with him and understands him without having to explain things make him fall for her even more intensely than back in Jeju. Finding out SU was scum (affair) pushed JH further. If the "affair" didn't come up, I feel JH would have eventually moved on even if it hurt him since even he thought SU wasn't bad initially afterall?

Exactly. And since Kang seems to be his best friend, I think we can trust his assessment? He did sound kind of long suffering- can't blame Kang seeing as he has the worst wingman 🙈

Actually it was the oranges scene that first hinted his interest in her right? I can't remember now but they had some kind of breathless close up scene of him when she ran off to help a mother in the middle of their arguement? It happened before the party.

Mother TF already explained this- they think Da Rim is pampered by her amaaaaaaa-zing husband. He's so perfect that she didn't even have to change a diaper 🤭

It was fun seeing Da Rim specially with her glasses on at the office. She's supposed to be broke so the idea of her having an endless supply of contact lenses would have been questionable.

I don't have anything against her- that's why I said I loved how all 4 characters were multi faceted instead of being 1 dimensional- 5 actually since even JH's sister has so many layers.

Her joking about the lie could actually backfire on her and the others (like it already has). Things were already complicated and bad enough but it was her unnecessary forced kiss that escalated everything.

If she wanted to kiss him that badly (since you seem to be fine with it), at the very least she should have made sure they were not in the same location as the Team they are trying to dupe.

Ah ok. Before Kang asks about his kissing experience, he calls out JH for finding love tedious only because he only has superficial dating experience instead of trying anything serious.

JH confirmed he has never had an explosive kiss like the kind Kang was describing. So I intepretted it as JH only has flings when he feels like it 🙊

Kind of like in "Never Been Kissed" (english movie)- the protoganist in it too has dating experience (albeit nothing that last long enough to be considered as serious) but never had a kiss that was soul crushing?

He's kissed before- just because he doesn't believe in love doesn't mean he's been a monk all this time😅
