Seee this is the issue - he doesn’t have anybody to bro with unless they are on his payroll/ psychotic about…
Totally agree with you on this! The thing with second chance marriage dramas is that writers have to balance the "red" with the "green"...it's a delicate line if crossed, it could mess up the whole story. With this drama, I think the balance is good. The MC is perfect for eachother. They are both calculating and opportunistic but aren't inherently evil. All Yan wants is love and is willing to do ANYTHING for it and Hyeomin just wants his dad's approval/ protect his heart from 🤑Yan. Yan is his dream girl- he pretty much confessed it while revealing his "diabolical" plan (low key reminded me of a reverse Mr Darcy confession situation honestly🤭🤭🤭). It's just that his ego was bruised because he didn't believe Yan did it out of love. It's understandable seeing as in his world, gold diggers make more sense than erm...love diggers🙈
To Yan's credit, as desperate as she is, she knows her worth so she doesn't take Hyeomin's shit just for the sake of hoping she can change him. I really love that about her. She's starving for love but isn't willing to ruin her self respect for anybody.👏👏👏👏
Hyeochan- honestly I feel so bad for him. I'm almost afraid to see the episode everything gets revealed. 🥲🥲🥲 I did love how there was so much foreshadowing. The way how obsessed Ms Yu was to protect her son Hyeomin, did not reconcile with the mother who treated her younger son like an after thought. Same with Mr Shen. Everything made sense the moment they showed the crazy sister at the kid's school. The fact that his situation mirrors Yan's (only much much worse since at least Yan had her grandmother's love) is really amazing.
About the ex- i think it was her age and upbringing that could have factored in her death? Very irresponsible but a very young heirress who probably got pampered all her life may have found early motherhood suffocating? The chance to reclaim her old life even for a few hours may have clouded her judgement. I'm glad that they revealed that they broke up loooong before her death. At least Hyeomin wasn't forced to let go off his ex. The crazy sister though....she seriously needs to be brought back to reality🤦♀️
Seee this is the issue - he doesn’t have anybody to bro with unless they are on his payroll/ psychotic about…
47?🙈 Which scene is this from? I binged over 10 eos in one sitting today so my brain is buffering😂 Haha i get what you mean! I was so impatient to see their scenes together i may have skipped a few scenes that I thought were not important🙈
Subber is on vacation based on their website. Can't wait till Makoto finds out about him 🙈
👋👋👋
Reset truly surprised me too! I just tried it out of boredom....safe to say it blew my mind🙈 Honestly it's been BJT's year for me seeing as I discovered him through First Frost, met again through Reset...and again through Mobius- it's like a quarterly dose. Makes me wonder if there'll be another appearance by December 🤭
Twelve Letters- i love your hypothesis! I know many dislike Shen for his attitude but I couldn't help sympathising his situation so the fact that he no longer exists felt rather hallow🥲 Haha even I low key shipped them! It would be nice to imagine they'd all cross paths again. I guess C-dramas have humbled my C-expectations because I was just so glad they confirmed the new timeline that it didn't even occur to me that I wanted more (we did get a few sneakpeaks through the end credits too if i remember correctly🙈).
Year of female generals and ultimate besties- yessssss!!!! I didn't even realize that this was a popular thrope until recently🙈 I still didn't get a chance to watch SL yet but you've now made me even more curious🤭🤭🤭 I like slow burn romances since I tend to lose interest once couples get together. Like with "Blossom", everybody raves about it, but I kind of lost interest after ep 21 or so- their chemistry and visuals were on fire but the plot got a bit boring after they got married🙈🙈🙈
Speed- who could resist Keanu Reeves in it??🙈🙈🙈 Even I watched it decades ago but I still remember it. Was so disappointed when he didn't appear in the sequel 🥲 Speaking of KR, there's supposed to be a new movie-"Good Fortune"- haven't watched it but his teaser looked fun🙊
Khemjira- yes, think it would be better to binge it once it ends. The cultural similarities are interesting specially since there are things you've seen in passing all your life but through Thai BLs I've learnt the significance behind so many things (kind of ironic since BLs are kind of taboo over here🤪).
OMG you watched MARE?!?!?! I've been waaaaaiting to find somebody who has watched it🙈 I actually got to know Tao thanks to it. Ironically I nearly skipped AIB because I thought AIB had 100+ 1hr episodes...I'd mixed the two.🤦♀️
Artists with skeletons in their closets- totally agree with you on this. I wasn't even aware of most of the scandals/ shipper wars until I joined MDL and later X. IG feels so innocent now- sooo blissfully ignorant (at least my algorithm).
I totally get your confusion with Hunger Games and hating dystopia- we are in the same boat 🙈 I looooooved the Hunger Games trilogy (books+movies) but didn't really get into Divergent. I liked the first movie but somebody spoiled the ending so I kind of lost interest after that 🤪 AIB isn't exactly Dystopian. It may feel like that but it leans more into philosophy. To keep it short-"a discussion on Life and Death" in the guise of a Dystopian backdrop?
Thanks for the many C-mini series suggestions! I'll check them out! 😊 I did try "Spring Fever" awhile back but I found it a little too unserious (as of ep 2 or 3) so I put it on hold. Does it get better?
Anpan- It's really interesting but it can get too emotional at times so do not get too invested on some of the male characters (Hint- the drama covers the 30s and 40s IYKYK🫠).
Haha funny you should mention "Love Ambition"- just started it yesterday! I loved ZLS in Hidden Love and with all the news that's been revolving about her lately, I just had to check it out. Not familiar with the ML but so far the drama is interesting. I'm not sure if I have come across the second couple yet (i'm in ep 3 atm) but I'll keep an eye out for them!
Actors and their english names- this really surprised me when I first came across Luo Yunxi- almost gaslit myself into thinking that Leo and Luo were 2 different actors🤦♀️
Besotted- yep, nothing over here as well. I liked "Bon Appetit Your Majesty" but I find the hype abit too exaggerated since it reminded me of King the Land (in my defence I'm not a victim of Moon Lovers)🙈
"Learning to Love" will wrap up this weekend on NF. Did you watch the last episode? I've been trying to resist it but it's difficult knowing that the episode is available online. Fun fact, the Fiancé is in Anpan too in a similar role (but he's a green flag in it so the contrasting characters was a fun albeit a bit bittersweet experience)🐒
Knowing how kdramas work, by halfway point Suzy will stop being the girl with an attitude towards the genie and…
It'll be interesting to see how the drama will address this seeing as her psychopathic condition is beyond her control....technically she shouldn't feel love either.
Didn't have much faith in it but I ended up enjoying it quite a lot! It was nice seeing again Arisu and Usagi…
I feel this time's villains are centred around human weaknesses?
Banda- temptation (suicidal thoughts in particular)
Ryuji- ambition/ consequences of having a weak will. I mean, with his assistant, he did try to stop her at first but his ambitious nature won. Ironically it was the opposit with Usagi. The guy basically cannot follow through with his intentions.🙈
Listening to Chota call himself useless is so sad now knowing that the main reason why Arisu along with Usagi and the rest of the team are doing so well was because of his unwavering friendship. If he hadn't spoken up first during that terrible night, things could have changed drastically.
(I'm not marginalizing Karube's sacrifice but it was Chota's words that helped Karube to focus too)
Does it means those characters from the previous seasons (like niragi, chishiya...etc) don't remember arisu and…
Yes- they might feel some kind of deja vu but unless they dig deeper into their thoughts (like Usagi and Arisu), they will most likely not remember Arisu and Borderland.
Specially with Niragi- I highly doubt 5 years would have been enough for him to recover if he remembered how he behaved in Borderland🫠
As for Ann- somebody mentioned that Ann never actually vocally agreed to go back so she most likely had more vivid flashbacks than what Usagi recalled. That's probably why she's staying at a sanitorium too.🙃
Fiance isn't that bad. He actually helped them and dad looks like he's getting a redemption arc.
🤭 ikr?!
He's in Anpan too. He was introduced as a proposed suiter for the FL- it felt so strange since the minute you meet him in Anpan, you know that he's a certified green flag despite the fact that even in it he considers marriage only because his mother keeps nagging him to marry.
It's funny how 2 characters can have the same storyline but completely different personalities🙈
I have a question heredo the injuries they got in Borderland affect them in real life or it's the opposite I mean…
It’s a combination. The events in borderland do not actually happen but it is a manifestation of your subconscience to help deal with reality.
For instance, with Niragi, it’s likely he burnt his face during the meteorite explosion, but his mind translated it to him burning alive during the games.
Subber is on vacation based on their website. Can't wait till Makoto finds out about him 🙈
Heyyyy - sorry! Missed the notification🙈
TPOB definitely has the best “enemies to lovers” meets “contract marriage” thrope from the dramas I’ve seen so far. I tried to read the web novel but had to drop it since the story was different and I just couldn’t relate to the MC at all. The screenwriter certainly did a great job.❤️
Haha didn’t expect to read such a positive review on “Shadow Love” from you - now I can look forward to it! I just finished Mobius over the weekend so ready for a new C-drama to obsess over 🤭
Speaking of Mobius - if you are into time loop dramas, totally recommend this. it’s like Reset 2.0 (and the ML is the same-BJT-so that’s a bonus). If you are not into time loop dramas though I won’t recommend it since each event has 5 chances, some of the scenes can be abit repetitive.
The Wanted Detective - it’s hard to rate it because it depends on why you want to watch it? If it’s primarily for romance - then it would be a 7. I’d say this drama is a lot like majority of the non-romance “whodunit?” Jdramas available. The story alone is quite interesting if you are into mysteries with a lot of twists (but make sure not to spoil the end or else the whole point of the drama will be gone).
Did you get a chance to watch “Twelve Letters”? Dare I ask how it left you feeling? You can watch “the Lake House” on DailyM or YT. If you are a fan of Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullok, you should totally watch “Speed” as well - it was awesome (kind of like Reset without the time loop)☺️
You are watching Khemjira too!? We really do share the same watch list 😂 I need to complete ep 8 - didn’t realize it was 2 hrs long! I love the cultural references. I usually find Thai dramas more culturally relatable so learning their own folklore is rather enlightening. So far the drama has been respectful to the story (no comment on the hilarious product placements!). Are you up-to-date with the episodes? I don’t think I have watched “I will knock you”. Are you still enjoying it?
I feel you linger in the air - you weren’t wrong to put it on hold while it was airing. I was so obsessed with it, that the weekly wait was annoying (really special case for me considering how Time Travel was an epidemic at the time with C/J/K/Thai/ Taiwanese dramas covering the same topic at the same time).🙈
Keita Hatsukoi - damn! you are a true fan! I love webtoons but mangas are a bit difficult since they tend to cram a lot of text within tiny speech bubbles 🙈 Glad to hear that they have a promising future together! “Silent” was amazing! I was actually surprised to find out recently that the ML from “Usotoki Rhetoric” is the SML from Silent. I didn’t mind the FL for the most part but there was scope for character development.
Monster is interesting but the story can be quite heavy since the main cast is really young and the things they go through can be quite emotional at times.
Enid Blyton - gosh she was practically my childhood! I guess I’ve learned to separate the author from their work. It’s rather disheartening to find out majority of the authors you love have skeletons in their closets. Are there any even left? 🫤
I watched “Warm on a Cold Night” - thanks for the recommendation! It’s so unserious but fun at the same time.
Do you have any other recommendations? Btw if you are into survival/ dystopian fantasy dramas, you should totally watch “Alice in Borderland” - they wrapped up the series last week (3 seasons). I’m usually not a fan of this genre but AIB is the exception. They did an amazing job. It’s Kento and Tao afterall so no surprises there.
I am also currently watching “Anpan” - it’s inspired by the life of the creator of “Anpanman”. The only thing is it has 130 mini episodes since it’s an Asadora.
ktraumas would always find a way to come to us. no exceptions either
I did love how she acknowledged this side of her. The way CSY said at the end that she’ll be a better friend next time? 💔🥲 As someone who has a tendency to self sabotage out of procrastination, I can relate to her insecurities to a certain extent but at the same time cannot fathom at all just how suffocating things must have been to push her to go that far.🫠
I completed the drama finally. The last episode was truly a journey! CSY is her usual bitchy self - unapologetically blunt till the end. Their last night together was executed so well, honestly I almost felt suffocated.🥲
Thanks for listening (or rather reading!) my rambling - it was fun ☺️
I'm coming back here two weeks after the drama ended to say that I loved this K-drama. Park Ji Hyun outshone Kim…
TMAI! As the episodes continue, I’ve grown to dislike her character more (she may have had a terrible life but it’s not REJ’s fault) but at the same time the way she portrays her character is so mesmerizing - like a wicked fairy godmother 🙊
ktraumas would always find a way to come to us. no exceptions either
It truly is sad. I'm in ep 13 now and the way she clings on to Sanghak despite all the clear boundaries is just so pathetic 🥲
You want to feel sorry for her because you know that she's had a hard life but it's hard to sympathize with her since it's unfair for her to expect the others to submit to her....to the point of gaslighting them. Specially with REJ who has already lost so much 🫠
Given the hurdles Yan had to jump through to marry him, I highly doubt the parents would have accepted the baby just because Hyeomin "trusts" the ex.
Is Fated Hearts good?
To Yan's credit, as desperate as she is, she knows her worth so she doesn't take Hyeomin's shit just for the sake of hoping she can change him. I really love that about her. She's starving for love but isn't willing to ruin her self respect for anybody.👏👏👏👏

Unless she wishes for it? Or she gets obsessed 🤔
(Similar to Trigger)
Banda- temptation (suicidal thoughts in particular)
