It was in the ep the crazy sister got drunk and tried to make HM jealous of Yan's partnership woth Jiang. She hinted something along the lines that she was the only who has always been loyal to him/ he is familiar with how it's like to be betrayed before (can't remember what exactly she said).

Since HM confirmed that he broke up with his ex 2 months or so before she confirmed her pregnancy and even pointed this out to her when she came to speak to him, it's possible that something must have happened 🫠

I hope that the lawyer's betrayal wouldn't hit them hard though. HM is beginning to trust the people around him after all- unless there's another twist there🫠

A guy like Haoming would never dress up like Ken or Edward like that under normal circumstances. But if plan A or B had worked, he would have come across as extremely romantic seeing as he is willing to wear rediculous outfits for his wife. In a way it's good that their plan didn't work- just like HM isn't the type of guy who would usually dress up like that, it's good to know that even the investor isn't that gullible.

I’m not sure if I missed the exact point but his father called him out for marrying Yan despite knowing she’s a fraud.

It’s possible that either he already knew her backstory but was taken by surprise when she told his mother the fake story. Or he found out after the first meeting?
I mean it would make sense for him to do a background check prior to meeting the parents just so that their meeting can run smoothly? Weird but that’s his thing afterall🙈

His actions are quite contradicting for someone who claims to not give a damn about her. Even when he was clearly trying to be manipulative, he still goes too far most of the time- it’s like he HAS to win🫢

Totally agree with you! Their third phase sounds like it could get dramatic. It almost makes me wonder if HM would go ahead with the divorce just to protect Yan (at least proceed with the phase after the 30 day cooling period).🫠

Their final phase should be amazing though - imagine them join together with all their skills and resources combined? They’d make quite the formidable couple🙈

To me it’s believable because of the way he behaved prior to ep 18ish or so when he realized Yan was being honest :

1- When he revealed his “diabolical” plan during that ill fated dinner, he unintentionally let it slip that Yan is his ideal type of girl very indirectly.

2 - cost vs. benefit of marrying Yan - he knew that Yan was a fraud before they got married. Given his situation with Haochan and the fact the company already looks down on him because of his past, HM cannot afford to entertain a liability like Yan no matter how good her skills are. He is smart enough to get what he wants on his own yet he chose not to let go of her.

3- the extravagant gifts - regardless of his reasoning it almost felt like he was buying her affection. It was an awful move but in his POV, he truly believed that she was in it for his wealth and status.

4- He allowed the crazy sister to control him but when Yan was involved, he seems to have a tendency to forget the bigger picture. Afterall the sister can still cause chaos by leaking his story to the press or reveal everything to Haochan which could be more damaging than anything else.

5- Yan is a mastermind in getting people to like her. Imagine how persuasive she could be when she truly is sincere. HM couldn’t possibly have been able to resist her even if he tried (despite what he claims). Most of his actions seem to stem from resentment and betrayal. The mastermind got outwitted and tricked by Yan of all people.

Not excusing his behavior though…he should have known better. They really did meet their match in the end.

Yessss! The best is yet to come. Honestly when I was watching the initial episodes, one question that kept coming into mind was “WHY are they spending so much time on her winning over the parents instead of focusing on their love story/ ruin” since the plot summary highlighted the divorce more than the relationship itself. But once you reach the “revelations” episodes, everything makes more sense. Scenes that feel like filler actually turn out to be crumbs for the viewers to follow - to discover the whole truth in the end.🙈

I know some hate the ML but personally I feel like they are perfect for each other - they just need to resolve their misunderstandings.

Aside from the control reasons the other commenters gave, she has qualities he personally is attracted to. If you think about it, they are both quite similar - driven and ambitious. Willing to risk everything to get what they want. Marrying her knowing that she was a fraud is a huge liability (specially once you learn about his other secret and how his youth has already affected his reputation). Despite what he says, I strongly believe a part of him truly did love her from the beginning - he just got hurt because he thought she sought after him for his wealth. Or else, he wouldn’t have married her regardless of how good she was at manipulating people.

He uses his wealth to buy her affection essentially….only he got it extremely wrong🙈
In his defense, he found ample evidence that she was lying-unfortunately in his social circle, evidence like that usually would mean that she’s a gold digger- not love. He truly messed up after she tried to make amends with him but his trust issues were too high for him to see her sincerity.

"Usagi has regressed..."- it's not regression. Season 2 episode 1 clearly explains why she was the way she was in S3. Usagi was always the same- the difference is that since she lost her memories at the end os S2, she had to go through hell all over again to move forward.

In a way it's also good that we didn't really get to see how they became a couple (at least in depth). Based on Yan's pov, everything seemed professional (just like with all her other guests). It's just that her methods were quite similar to his- it wouldn't be a surprise if he fell for her.🙈

If she was anybody else, the moment he realized she was a fraud, he would have cut ties. Marrying her was a liability even if she could win over his mother. The only reason he would have married her is because he was truly hurt by her actions but still wanted her around. That's why he kept showering her with gifts- loving her with her supposed language (i.e. money).

The main factor here is that Haoming doesn't really know how to love. Even the crazy sister's comment about cheaters sound interesting. It almost sounded as if HM broke up with his ex because she betrayed him (then again it could be a translation error).
