Episode 14 made my heart rise (Shiqi), soar (Xiang Liu), break (Xuan), and ache/cry (finally Xiaoyao)! Great storytelling with Yang Zi leading a stellar cast!

My heart truly ached at that time in ep 36, at that special moment....I wanted to scream, "Yanhui, there won't be another moment for you to say that to him."

I cannot state how great, how eyeopening and refreshing, this drama has been. It came in like an assassin and stole my heart after the cdrama-that-shall-not-be-named was so polarizing and audacious to so many cdrama fans. The characters are really well fleshed out and behave as, well, as beings with critical thinking skills would. They are open to emotion, have honest reactions, and are allowed to make mistakes...some make them more than others, but their actions make sense in terms of the character development.

This is just good storytelling with amazing actors who fully bring the characters to life. Both leads have such expressive eyes, and it's as if they are their characters and not portraying/acting as them. Amazing work!

I'm so confused! Lol I'm only on episode 5, but is this bromance because Chong is going hard in the paint to convince his best bro that Zhu Wan is not the right girl for him and his best bro is giving him amazing fireworks displays for his birthday!🫢🫣😄

I finished last episode. First off all in first 25 minutes I was like wtf is this. Then GJW scares me with that…
Such a thoughtful and accurate description. Thank you so much! I am holding it in because I don't want to seem harsh...but every time I see a wonderful post like yours, I give it a like. The beauty in this story has never been about the ultimate HE, it's been that it is the journey of a cruelly broken, beautiful man who learned not only his worth, but also how to live, love, and sadly die on his own terms. He learned and grew strong in that he didn't have to become anything anyone else expected him to be and could make his own decisions about how his life should be--thanks to the help and love of LXW/Susu. You really showed the accuracy of that in your post. I feel as if a lot of the complaints are from those who have little to no experience with wuxia/xianxia because they are generally about the life lessons not the fairytale happily ever after. For those who want the happy ending, the book does have a HE...but it also has a more flawed TTJ.

People need to differentiate between an ending being sad or tragic, and an ending being "bad", ie. nonsensical,…
Well said! So succinct...so straight to the point that it might just go over the head of some!
On Till the End of the Moon May 9, 2023
Wow! Luo Yunxi And Bai Lu led an amazing cast! I have nothing credible to add as my mind was blown by ep 40. I really can't think straight and my emotions...my emotions are in flux! I loved every minute of this wild ride! This will be a definite re-watch!

I don’t understand why they changed the original novel and made YXW the villain. they completely whitewashed…
They literally had to change TTJ as he was truly a devil in the book and a lot of the things he did were unforgivable in my opinion. Even in her current form, YXW/Susu is not a villain though. The web audience sympathizes with TTJ because he was so mistreated, so abused, and so betrayed his entire life by literally everyone around him and yet he still fought for his right to survive/exist and struck out only at those who abused and hurt him. This fact makes YXW look brutal in their eyes in that she came back in time with a mission and actually put everything into finishing that mission, to prevent the Devil God from being reborn and destroying the world...this was against a guy who had done nothing wrong and had suffered his entire life. They ignore the fact that she saw the Devil God kill her entire family, other sects and had the same vision for the rest of the world. She literally had 1 job....go back in time to save the world by getting rid of the person who can't be stopped in the future from destroying it. Yes, she does have hatred in her heart initially(she saw future awakened Devil God murder everyone she loves), yet she sees him mistreated and fights against it...yes, a lot was to gain his trust in the beginning but as time progressed she saw him as Tantai Jin instead of the Devil God he COULD become and fell in love with him even knowing that he had the evil bone and sacrificing to remove it. YXW/Susu is a complicated character but she has never been the villain. But as is common in most dramas, once people pick a side they stick to it hardcore.

This is what happen when you have set expectations from drama very high, not settle for anything less. I blame…
We all have expectations. lol I don't think there are many people just sitting around hoping to find a bad drama...of course there are anti fans who just sit round and stir up trouble and complain because they can. I don't think of your replies like that. Sometimes people just don't click with character or a drama. While I vigorously disagree with you, I respect that you gave your honest feelings. I love this drama and yeah, it's not perfect, but in my eyes it is quite good. I love the family dynamic and the fact that even when things go wrong, both characters, at one time or another, have supported each other no matter what...and they both love their son above all else. Good luck finding a new drama and I hope to read your posts again. You really explain why you like or dislike a drama and even if I didn't agree this time, you showed me another way to look at the characters and their interactions.

That still doesnt gave any right to deny father right to know about his child. Being boyfriend and being FATHER…
Her seeing papers of him trying to take her custody away doesn't allow her to do the same to him is your honest and well thought out reply. His lack of explanation, lack of denial that he had them drawn up, and general silence on why he had custody papers and you feel she was overreacting and should have ignored what she saw and lived in Lala-land where explanations are unnecessary and everyone just goes along living in oblivion and seeing ponies and rainbows...then we'd only have a 1 episode drama...and it would be a stupid drama. Uh...I don't think you are understanding this in the way that happened. Think critically about what you think you know as opposed to what you actually saw and then apply that to what actually happened in the story. She denied him custody because she was shown he wanted to take her custody away from her. He never fully explained the reason those papers existed. She was rightfully wary of him. Good fathers should always have visitation with their children, but good fathers don't seemingly try to rip their kids away from the good mothers who have loved and nurtured them from childbirth. She reacted like a normal mother would. By the by, I think some of us shouldn't throw around the words smart and mature until we can differentiate as to when to apply them. Why all the caps btw?

Reading these comments has been...something wild. In this drama, people see the FL as somehow wanting to keep cute little Quan Quan away from his dad on a whim. I would ask those who have ever had a loving mama (parental figure) to think how they would react in a situation where 1.) Their father had thrown her out of his life and refused to even speak to her for multiple years. 2.) Yes, she didn't tell him about the existence of said child but that was because he refused contact. Life goes on and she had a sick child to care for so of course she prioritized her son over everything else...ain't nobody got time to be chasing down a man who already has shown himself to not want anything to do with you when your child needs you. 3.) After opening up and beginning to not only trust but prepare to confess to said father, instead she finds a document stating he wants to take away the child that she has raised, loved, and cherishes above her own life...in his office...at his desk...glaringly out in the open with no shame. 4.) The fear of knowing he is not only wealthier but actually has more power, so how can she truly fight and win against him. 5.) When asked to explain about said custody papers and allowing him to explain, he bumbles on and explains nothing. How would your mama react? Would she just laugh and off and say, “These few good weeks trump all the years of misery between us,” or would she react furiously and angrily?

The writers wrote this particular misunderstanding so cheaply, but Min Hui is acting just like a mother in fear mode. To those hating on the FL I would just like to ask this, Quan Quan is her whole life, so do you really think she should just automatically trust in someone who broke trust with her first? When giving him a chance to explain the document stating he wants to take her child away and he doesn't have an explanation for the document, should she just ignore it even though their history is one that is full of hurt on both sides?

It's yet again the great "Outside Looking In" fallacy. We are on the outside of the story looking in. The characters can only see inside of the story so they don't see each characters motivations, true actions, or truths. While we can see Xin Qi's awesomeness, love, and complete devotion, he has, as of 16 episodes, yet to tell Min Hui how he truly feels...even when she directly, albeit drunkenly, asked. We know what Hardy and Cindy did, but she doesn't. We see the villains’ actions but no one in the story does. That, my friends, is storytelling. Yes, the way that they wrote the custody papers debacle is vexing but all-in-all the story and acting of this drama makes my heart sing and melt. Let’s not hate on any one character unless they are truly villainous. I personally love both Xin Qi and Min Hui. They are both smart, hardworking, and both trying to find their way for Quan Quan’s benefit. I also love that Quan Quan is smarter than the both of them. This is such an amazing drama, so I hope everyone gives it a fair chance. In short, let’s see each characters actions from the story's point-of-view and not from the viewers point-of-view.

I am really loving this drama.

At this time...in this moment...in this episode...Ep. 48, The Cheng Family, no, the Cheng Household, because it includes the family, servants, and soldiers alike, are G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time)!
Regardless of anything else that has happened and with definite finality, they were ready and did risk it all for NiaoNiao.

I'm too gutted to comment on LBY and his actions in these last episodes. But that moment he and NN shared where he silently stood before her and she gave him the opportunity, yet again, to open up with no reply, tore my heart up so bad for both of them! For him because his need for revenge was bigger than his love for her, which did hurt him, and for her because she knew he was headed down a dangerous path and only wanted to be there with him but was closed out. I just can't.

But that Cheng Household, they really showed what family is meant to be. They stood together in a fight they knew would probably go against the emperor himself and that made my cold, cold heart melt. This is the key difference between what LBY did and what they are doing. They stood together as a unit and even if his intention was to "protect" NiaoNiao, I don't think any woman would rather be protected than be an active, respected member of a relationship. Especially after that show he put on to force her to see she should always be willing to open up to him so he could "share in her burdens."
On Love Like the Galaxy: Part 2 Aug 7, 2022
These last few episodes have been an absolute delight with the exception of poor NN in the last. My heart broke for her! Once again, her distress led to amazing closeness with LBY so the writers/director drove this story at a record, but good, pace. I truly hope with my entire cdrama heart that she revenges until revenge doesn't exist anymore...with help from LBY of course. I know it's not going to happen easily and the sky will fall down on their relationship soon lasting "until the last 2 minutes of the final episode where someone much-beloved dies as others live on with the knowledge that living an upright life is its own reward and living in pain from the trauma that you have suffered, love you have lost, and having nothing to show other than your tattered memories," is worth it. But recent episodes have been making me so happy and clarifying so many questions that I will happily follow along whatever is about to happen that our leads will struggle through and eventually overcome. This drama is so good it has a 100% Repeat "Watchability" rating!

Consort Yue, my new favorite person😍. Her presence alone... Shaoshang couldn't help but look at her in awe🥺😎
She is the real MVP of this episode. She came into that hangman's meal and looked Lady Ruyang in the eyes and said, "If you gonna be about that life, be ALL the way about that life." Then proceeded to school each and everyone in that room as to where they stood and why they should remember to stay in their respective lanes. She read them for filth, sent the little ones to bed without supper, reminded Shao Shang to keep her head up and that she was Zhi Sheng's bride, and with glistening eyes gave respect to Zhi Sheng and his forebears. Well done!

Posted this in part 2 too cuz I'm dying to find out bout this backstory.Guys I'm so confused bout LBY mom, shes…
Is she really crazy though? She seems more angry than anything and when she slapped her "husband," it was with righteous indignation! It looked like the character was completely in that moment. Also the way LBY talks with her is not like how you would speak with a crazy person. He makes sure she is always aware that he is continuing with the plan to make them all pay for their ill deeds against them and she always stoically replies or her actions show she is completely aware of what he is saying...and not as someone who is insane. Can't wait to see how it plays out! So her being crazy may be part of a ruse.
