As much as I enjoyed WRTW, I find A Dream of Splendor to be one notch above WRTW. I think it’s the sizzling chemistry between the leads in ADOS that tilted the scale for me, but honestly, there are other minor wins over also.
I think she will end up with Shen ru zuo, too. The fact that GQF vetted his background and confirmed Shen is a decent guy is almost like a golden seal in vouching for his positive quality. And…. I think he would make a perfect pairing for YinZhang given their common interest in musical/artistic background.

Yup, I love it! So soothing and natural, rich yet soft. I totally agreed with you about the monotonous colors, especially seen recently in The Blue Whisperer II where everything is blue/gray or shades on that spectrum for so many episodes.

It seems like the director didn't shoot this at the famous Hengdian studios, giving this drama a different feel from the typical Chinese costume dramas. The storyline is entertaining and provides a lot of historical facts about status.
