If you can bypass the FL, you'll enjoy it I think.I love Lu Si Cheng and the supporting characters, and the story…
Maybe I'll watch an episode here and there to finish it eventually. Those are good points! I haven't watched this type of K-drama in years, but it definitely has that kind of feel!
I'm struggling to continue this. The FL actress is so bad at acting I cringe every time she pops on the screen. I have seen comments about the source material, how she is supposed to be pouty etc. But I think there's a difference between being a stone-faced, expressionless actress and doing a pouty character. I love Xu Kai, but I find it hard to continue watching even for him. I feel 0 chemistry between him and the FL (largely due to the zero emotions the FL is conveying). I'm surprised the rating is this high tbh.
I don’t feel any chemistry either and I’m 27 episodes in. it’s the FL I don’t feel anything from.
Wow, I got really into this drama because they have amazing chemistry! I have struggled to finish Xu Kai's other dramas because the chemistry (or just the character hasn't felt so multidimensional) hasn't felt that good, for example falling into your smile. Chemistry is in the eye of the beholder though
It just goes to show different audiences perceptions of female leads are subjective. Some can't stand Ying because…
Yes! I watched this drama on viki. And now I'm watching it with comments on. Some people are so short-sighted with the FL, expecting her to not experience any negative emotions. Especially after she think she lost her "brother", no one seemed to understand why she would be acting up, feeling angry etc. I always saw the bigger picture while watching WOL. I feel like the traditional gender roles of a relationship are flipped around with them: Li Ni is more emotional and he never wins a bet with A'Ying. A'Ying on the other hand is logical and doesn't wear her heart in her sleeve. Neither of them is willing to sacrifice their principals for love. I found their dynamic and relationship so much fun to watch and I would love to see them act together again as their chemistry was really good!
