Someone said in the older comments that it's listed on the IQIYI site as 36 episodes. I think it's quite a good length to resolve the plot lines and not have it getting too draggy. I think the synopsis is interesting and not too cliché. Maybe it will air in the later part of this year

I agree! I have seen a few of Xu Kai's previous dramas to compare. I feel like he has had quite a few similar roles/scripts that don't show his full potential! In WOL he got to show so many different sides as an actor and in my opinion Li Ni felt like a real person in a really nice way. He and Jing Tian played off each other really well too, which made it a pleasant watch. I hope Xu Kai gets a good script and can showcase his talents in the future. (He has two modern dramas coming up which is a nice break to the fantasy costume dramas)

I guess it might take a while if they finished filming this in the fall... Adding the special effects etc. will take time

I agree! I think Xu Kai has had a string of weak scripts and WOL is definitely a stand-out. He fit the role perfectly, and the script pulled out the best parts of him. Jing Tian and Xu Kai work really well together, so lets hope they get to work together again!

Xu Kai sung the OST of this drama "Destined to be you" for a Chinese new year broadcast that airs on Valentine's day. I'm glad he didn't forget about WOL even after the promo period!

YES! I feel like I would not have liked this drama so much if the actors were switched to anyone else. I hope and pray that some director sees their chemistry and casts them together again!

I'm glad it gets more watchers still. Definitely one of the better dramas of 2023 and deserves many more fans. I have rewatched it many times since finishing.

I'm waiting for more episodes to air before I start watching this. I haven't seen Esther in any other drama, so this voice issue is new to me. I heard the voice is accurate to the game, but I myself find the voices in games annoying a lot of time. Maybe some things should be changed when an adaptation is made?

I would love to watch them in a drama again! I don't know if they have gotten better as actors, but I really feel like WOL is character-wise some of their best work. Their chemistry was so good, and would work in different dramas well too! I guess we can only hope...

I don't really like fantasy/xian xia type costume dramas, but I'll give this one a try for Xu Kai. I feel like the trailer contains too many spoilers, but I guess we'll see if the plot is going to be good!

Me too! I like that it's 24 episodes. Longer dramas get draggy in the middle, so I think this one has a good chance of the plot being interesting until the end
