yess in ep 6 when gamin and sehyeon were together in the room, he mentioned his father is like a big genius that everyone respects but gamin is nowhere as capable as him (as he constantly gets bad grades no matter how much he studies) so people around him have no hopes for him. and it's heartbreaking when people don't believe in you or think you can make it... so he wants to basically prove to himself and everyone else that he can go to college by his own efforts

it was already explained in the ep but to resurface, she knew he was up to smth and deliberately went in there so she can get solid evidence for the police (by the tracker that was pinned to her shirt) she also wanted to protect her students and felt like whatever the vice guy would say would be valuable information

i love it when i watch a kdrama and actually struggle to choose a favorite character

idc what anyone says but this last ep was actually marvelous I loved every sec of it and I was not disappointed

i feel like it's fair bc a 16 year timeskip is long enough. im not good with remembering faces myself so i imagine if that much time passed and especially if it's someone i only met once, i would not recognize them too

I do all these things you mentioned and never in my comment did I say, or imply that I don't. I come to comment sections for discussions and it's valid for everyone to do so. My point however is that it gets tiring when you click on the page of a show and comments about ratings take up half the section, overshadowing comments that talk about the show itself.

no srsly, after a while it gets annoying especially with ongoing kdramas there's always comments like "let's get this to 9.0!" "let's downvote this to 7.5!" like it's some kind of competition? ppl are forgetting MDL is a tracking site. the entire point of it is to keep track of what you watch and what you finish and rating things based on your true interest.

like pls calm down and just enjoy ur hobbies, there's more to life than stats, i promise you 😭

I never had an issue with it but watching the first ep, I get now why hyunwook was casted to play the ceo. It makes alot of sense because the character is not meant to fit the model archetype of a "ceo". Here, he's just a person with hobbies who is forced to put on a facade and lead such a life by his elders. I like the premise of this and so far it's good! Can't wait for next ep

i will say one thing tho... i really appreciate how natural and seamless the intercultural elements in this show are! cuz typically when a show involves characters from multiple races, speak diff languages, dialects and portray diff cultural practices, usually shows like that tend to be stiff, awkward, and sometimes cheesy if the directors don't do an effective job. But here, I like how the issue is minimized. Yes, there's some corniness with the american interactions but it's not too distracting. Alot of the dialogue in this drama switches back and forth between korean and japanese without standing out. It's really interesting.

i like it so far but the pacing is painfully slow sometimes

sehyeon x heewon is the sweetest duo ever and they're so attentive as friends too. like heewon was the first person to tell sehyeon that he is just as impressive of a person as gamin back in ep 5, and in this ep, she was the first to notice and point out that gamin might be feeling down bc he's worried about test results. and then sehyeon proceeds to comfort him by using that boiling point analogy. also when gamin was sad over sun cheol being accused, they spent time digging over the case.

it can't be 😭 they met and talked with each other multiple times already, if that was the case he would recognize him but not once we saw gamin call him uncle

im sorry but the geon yeop screentime is kinda ridiculous. i know it's just 10 eps (45 mins each) for a long ongoing manhwa so they obviously can't fit in everything but i hated how promising his character introduction was at the start of the drama only for the writers to abandon him for the rest of the show 😭😭 it's like he has no storyline which is crazy bc his own MOM is seemingly an important plot device... i hope the last two eps has smth in store for him.. and fingers crossed for a S2 even tho it might take years for that to happen 🥲
