when his mom said “it’s all my fault, alright?” I got pissed off so bad cuz it’s so realistic 😭 why do parents LOVE to use this manipulation tactic? It’s so deflective, like why can’t you just own up to your mistakes and take responsibility?

every time I argued with my mom over anything I would get hit with a “fine everything is my fault” or “when I die you will regret this” even over things that are minor. maybe that’s why I found qin’s parents too frustrating to watch, they remind me of my own. but I still love them like how qin loves his parents. FYI, There’s a statement u saw on the screen at the bottom when the child was getting screamed at by the nanny. It basically says “child-actor professionals were closely monitoring the scene, as well as the parents of the child were present” to ensure to the viewer that no ethical measures were violated. Because having a child play a scene about abuse can be tricky morality (In film history, directors used to manipulate child actors so that the emotion they display on the screen is actually real). That statement is to declare that the child was 100% acting in every moment of this episode. No harm was done in real time.

Also respectfully, comparing a sex scene to a child playing out a flashback is…. a very nonsensical argument. Like I’m not sure what point you were even trying to achieve. Nobody was “comfortable” watching the child get abused. We were disturbed. Which is… the entire point. You’re meant to realize how big the impact it had on Qin’s personality. And that it’s the reality of many children throughout the world.

i went back to rewatch the scene in ep9 where duang hugged qin after he saw him being sad, and i almost died. binge-watching this show when it ends is going to hit so different now after knowing the full context
