I’m watching episodes 1-4 again. I don’t think Kihyun will betray the brother. It’s too deep. Too messy and too intertwined.

The source material is Dangerous Liasons and Yejin’s character is based on Marquise de Merteuil , who “is considered strikingly beautiful, using her looks and sharp intellect as primary tools for social manipulation”. Is your intellect coming only from Netflix or do you bother to read literature as well. I work in this industry. I have worked 8 years as a casting scout before changing careers. Whatever you are saying about Yejin being an acclaimed actress is something I haven’t brought up. She’s decorated, sure. But she is not the right casting choice for this role. The point about Hyun Bin came from this: she can be desirable to Hyun Bin sure, but she isn’t a desirable screen presence. That allure is non existent. She’s mechanical and stick figure like in a role that requires her to exude fluid sensuality and enigma.

Soft landing script to be honest. People think that by adding rump and romp, sack attack scene they are achieving the tone of Dangerous Liasons. Absolutely not. It’s a botched attempt at the source material. The truth and tone of the story are in the manipulation and scheming and jealousy constantly on the burner. Here it’s just a challenge and okay off to the races of using AI as a post production tool 😂 but I stand by my opinion on Yejin. She ain’t a desirable onscreen presence. Just cos she managed to put a ring on Hyun Bin doesn’t add to that (shrugs). I kept imagining Song Hye Kyo in this drama to be honest

Unpopular opinion but it’s mine and I stand by it. Son Yejin is not believable nor digestible as the most beautiful woman that Cho is still in love with.

Frankly speaking, this role was tailor made for Song Hye Kyo or Jun Ji Hyun. Even I would say Kim Tae Hee. Yejin is not …I’m sorry she’s too plain and too plain and just basic. Nor is she a natural smoke show.

She’s an okay actress, married to Hyun Bin and …well that’s it. I don’t think she’s befitting the allure and sensuality or “desire magnet” element of this role. Just my opinion.

Tempted tried to be an adaption of dangerous liaisons. It just didn’t do it cos it was made for tv. They couldn’t go too far during prime time tv. So considering that, I think tempted was semi decent. But the FL couldn’t act even if she was held at gun point. She couldn’t act to save her life. She was that bad

Nana is totally not believable as the cowering shrinking violet. It’s a bad casting choice.

My intention is not to body shame - let’s get this straight plz. Nana looks like a lovely beautiful lady but she doesn’t fit the look. The era in which the role is placed deserved a thoughtful casting. The look is important.

The close ups are so unnerving to watch - Nana and her over filled upper lip and Yejin and her migrating fillers her under eye and cheek look dented. Rough.

Nana and her upper lip filler take more screen space and time than chemistry ever does.

I’m gonna be honest, WDH plays Kihyun with such vulnerability while Hyun bin plays KiTae with such majestic aura. It’s just perfection from both of them. Every line on their face or furrow of the brow is telling its story. They are bangers in this season.
