Minglan background and conditions were not great, but she was an inteligent, calm and pratical character that made sense in that time period. She still had societal restrictions, like every women in that time period. Shenli was a boss, but she was still forced in an engagement. No character was completely free of obligations. I know i'm dramatic with this, i just feel ZLY betrayed Minglan Stans 🤣🤣🤣.

It would be great if they started developing original scripts more often, but the industry is super competitive, and its easier to get an IP license and adapt.
