Yeah I agree with your take on daqiao's mindset. She wants to live inside her own bubble of peace and quite, and some recognition for her husband because he came from a humble background. And the no invitation for her meant that manman insulted her personally for not recognizing her husband. At this point I know some people gave spoilers that dq will not survive, and I'm neutral about it.

I'm annoyed a little because novel daqiao is kinder, but this change in the drama makes sense, because from the very beginning she has been selfishly leaving her family to let her little sister marry to the enemy. Like, I know that manman pushed her to leave, but at least try to be a little understanding when your sister (who have been so kind to you) can not send an invitation to the deer hunt and not sulk. She really is selfish.

The relationship between weishao and manman is complicated and can't be solved only by communicating because of the years of hate and distrust.
