If you are looking for a blatant-obvious-in-your-eyes romance kind of thing like Thai BL, you won't find it here because CQL is categorized as censored BL. But the director and scriptwriter managed to put "the romance" with the gesture and body language of ML and MC, so yeah, the romance is there.

WOH and TU/CQL can't be compared in terms of story. If you read MXTX works and Priest works, they both are fantastic author and each of them have their own characteristic. But if we are talking about the production, I see different quality.
For the leads, WOH MC and ML are fantastic actors, again they can't be compared with MC/ML of TU/CQL because of different script, treatment and direction. Agree with you ZZH and GJ are the man of the match, I hope they can fly higher after WOH.

CQL/TU brought me to Danmei universe and its adaptation. I'm becoming a fan of MXTX works and Danmei. I haven't read TYK from Priest and I have zero knowledge about the story until WOH. I agree after I watched 6 episodes of WOH, WOH is above TU (and I hope it will continue like this until the last episode). WOH continues amazed me with the script, acting and the production quality until today.
In terms of scriptwriting and production also acting WOH is above CQL. When I said acting here I mean overall acting. In CQL/TU I found several "very awkward acting" from the supporting cast/actors (it was because the producer recruiting a lot of new faces with minimal acting experience) ,but in WOH there are no awkward acting so far and I hope it will continue like that until the very last episode. Everyone managed to do their own character with their own charm.
I've watched 2 Priest novel adaptations like Guardian and Legend of Fei and I feel the script was done half-hearted with no regard at all to the original work. But in WOH I see novel fans are satisfied with the execution. You can tell that the scriptwriter wrote WOH script with so much sincerity.
Also in terms of fighting choreography, WOH is waay above CQL. I see no awkward fighting moment as well between the leads and the supporting actors.
The production team really do learn a lot from previous Danmei adaptation and improve it in WOH.
