Just finished ep 11 and it keeps getting better! Idk why people are so focus on who Geum-bo will end up with when…
as a fan of romance, i have no idea why this has a romance genre 🤷🏽♀️ there’s no indication of rekindling romance in the writing, not to mention that the leads don’t seem like they would be good together. we now know he has ‘regret’, so they could use this as the opener to a reunion, but at this point that would feel forced.
I guess see for yourself, but I haven’t seen something that irritates me this much for a long time. Writing, Acting and Production are subpar. Webtoon story seems to be a bit more intriguing, but this strays from that. let’s see how they land the ending. 🤷🏽♀️
Baek Eun Hye as the sister in law is a hateable persona but one of the best acted performances of the series. She is talented and yikes, good- I can’t stand her character. Her character as the villain 🦹🏻♀️ makes sense, and would have been more than enough antagonism for the story, alongside the impossible life situation leads see themselves in. I also love the comedic cringe 😬 romance, because of the actors, but beyond that i find myself irritated with the series, and with myself for still wanting to watch it to see where it goes. 🥸
the story in itself is a hot mess. i haven’t read the webtoon, but it seems the deviation was not in its favor. the leads have very little going for them in the writing and their performances are a bit lackluster, and sometimes downright annoying (to me). i was interested in the premise, but the execution of it leaves much to be desired. it’s really too bad for the cast and crew that have dedicated so much to this creative process.
side note - i also feel a bit judgmental towards myself as the plastic surgery in our fl actress makes me feel uncomfortable - something feels really off in me. the fact that i even notice bothers me and the aesthetic leaves me uneasy. obviously, not a critique of the drama, but of myself. i am unsure that i will ever feel ok with the normalization of cosmetic surgery, as a popular as it is in some cultures.
